A glimpse of the beautiful store!

We love this place! I love the decor. I love the candy. I love the outstanding customer service. I love to watch them make candy and my kids love it too! This is our go-to place for gift cards, and gift shopping, as well!

Chocoholics beware! Just looking at all of the delectable, mouthwatering chocolates gave me a sugar high. This is a very relaxed store, with windows into each kitchen so you can see the employees creating chocolate delicacies. As we were looking at the eggs and bunnies, we saw the praying hands & Last Supper. The white chocolate Last Supper was more impressive than the milk chocolate one as you can see all the details in the white. Al, one of the employees, told us that the Last Supper is one of the more difficult to create. It does come out of a mold, but needs expert hands to cut away the extra chocolate that clings to the small details. Our niece bought the last one! Al also showed us the framed newspaper clippings about the store and its founders. He pointed out how the third generation is now running the store, and that some of their customers are also third generation. We bought some of the eggs, caramels, and white & milk chocolate butterflies. We are bringing them home and enjoying each and every one. We will be back!!

As usual Buffet's delivers!!! Buffet's has all of its holiday options out and ready to go. This time I tried the order online and pick up option, which was super cool. They gave me a call when my order was ready, and I just popped in and told the cashier that I had an online order which she quickly retrieved. I bought some sugar-free candy for a friend, a brittle sampler for family and some butter, rum popcorn for myself. I haven't yet dug in, but I can hardly wait! As always, the staff were personable and welcoming, the store was spotless, and the service was immediate. If you need something sweet and tasty for a Christmas gift to give to someone else or to treat yourself, head on into our local favorite and show them some love!

The new Buffets is open on Academy just east of San Mateo. I'm a longtime buffets supporter. I have been going to the popcorn cannery since I was a kid in the N/S valley and of course the location on Lomas with the big candy cane out front. The new location is huge. Big windows inside do you can see the magic happening while workers are diligently making chocolates. You can also get the popcorn (a bit expensive) but everything is these days. Lots of variety, bright and everyone was super helpful.

The second location of the famous Buffett's Candies is now open! The place is spectacular. We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. She gave us a tour of the production area. I have to go back when it's running. This building is done so well. Spacious, modern and playful. I'm so impressed! There's a lot of chocolate choices, some I'd never seen before. We a bar of milk chocolate. Absolutely delicious! You should go!

Albuquerque's iconic gourmet handcrafted candy store has sweetened our lives with a second location. The Academy location is retro-themed and even has a viewing window in the kitchen, so you can watch the Confectioners create their magic--it's like Willy Wonka, but without the Oompa Loompas. The employees are friendly and helpful. This gigantic store has so many displays that it's like a candy labyrinth. I make it a point to stop at Buffett's Candies for holidays and special occasions. Their gourmet popcorn is an absolute must-try; it's light, puffy, and has a perfectly crunchy candy coating. With so many flavors, I frequently pop in--pun totally intended. One of my personal indulgences at Buffett's Candies are the chocolate-covered piñons and the piñon turtles. These treats are so delicious, they should come with a warning label: highly addictive. I highly recommend visiting the second location of this store; it's a guaranteed delight and might just become your new happy place.

Whether it be a prepackaged candy bar or their fudge that is out for display. While he is browsing their offerings to fill his sweet tooth craving I decide to pull up my handy dandy Yelp app to get a little more info on this here candy factory. Low and behold..... it's the 2nd business I tried to check into in the mall...only to find out they were not listed. Being the awesome person I am I asked the Candy Stripper (cashier in layman terms) behind the counter if she had a business card so that I can add their business info as I'm sure other Kool Yelpers have frequented this spot while sludging through the trenches of the mall. She was less than enthusiastic about my inquiry even after I asked her if she was aware of the Yelp website. Needless to say she was neither friendly or in anyway personable to any if the patrons I saw in the shop while we walked around. While I don't like being negative or sending out negative vibes I will come back soon and give them another shot. I can only hope they become more sugary and sweet and one would expect the employees to be in a place that normally brings joy and sunshine to young and old alike.... positives: nice candy selection. my nephew picked out a sucker with a grasshopper. oh joy!!!

A perfect fluffy marshmallow nougat with a layer of Carmel and covered with chocolate? Yes please! Just the smell of this delicious chocolate shop had my mouth watering! They were out of their best selling Original Scotchmallows but they did have a Coffee flavored Scotchmallow. Coffee and Chocolate?! That's better than what I came for in the first place! I was offered a full piece of "sample" chocolate and it was oh so delicious I had to grab my purchase and get out! I love See's chocolate. Not overly sweet or bitter. My…read morefavorites are the Chocolate Caramel Apples with nuts, Dark Chocolate Raspberry Jellie Sticks, and the Irish Cream Truffles. So, so good! I've been to different locations of this company as far away as California and I've always considered the goodies there to be special treats. I recently wanted to send a gift of candy apples to a relative back east so I got on the website to place my order. To my great disappointment, the apples were listed as ''available in store only.'' I didn't want to go inside a store because of covid so I gave a call to a local Albuquerque store in the Coronado Mall. The customer service there is fantastic! I spoke to Shay who was super nice and helpful! I told her what I was trying to do and she let me know that her store was actually locally owned and they do ship candy apples! I didn't have to go to the store since she let me place my order by phone. It was as easy as could be. She even sent me the tracking number after dropping the box off at the UPS office. That kind of customer service is way too rare. I'm glad to have a local business to support that sells great chocolates for special gifts. I'm also looking forward to when it is safe to go out and do in-person shopping again so I can pick up some treats for myself!
