Whatever you're doing right now (surfing the internet for cat videos, ignoring your boss, posting status updates), stop. Seriously, drop it, and jot down this note: Elixir Chocolates. You'll thank me after you read this review. Want an exceptionally savvy, cheap date, or crazy fun group outing? Call Tim and Larry at Elixir. Unbeknownst to me, these two great guys had been quietly crafting unf@ckingbelievable cocoa-riffic treats in this city for the better part of 20 years. Yes, 20. And they host these incredible hands-on events at their chocolate factory, near I-25 and Osuna. The events are free, but you'll need to gather a group of 6-10 people. You'll sample virtually any sweet treat you wish, you'll dip your own caramels in chocolate, you'll sample their infamous Timmy Krack Korn (no, this has nothing to do with the band) before, during and after it's baked. The entire evening lasts about 90 minutes. Trust me on this: your teeth will never rot so good. They don't have a storefront, per se, but they sell wholesale at the factory. They also sell their truffles, turtles, and other goodies at Keller's Meats and the Cinnamon Sugar & Spice Cafe. But go to the factory, bring some friends. You won't forget it. Twenty years into this thing, Elixir Chocolates remains a relatively undiscovered, and delightful sweet find in the 505. (But don't take my word for it. Ask the guys who moved in next door, at the medical marijuana dispensary. Just sayin'.)

Ok four words, Timmy Krack Korn Puffs!! Elixir Boutique Chocolates offers a array of chocolates that meet any chocolate lover's soul! Their truffles are fresh and light leaving your palate rejoicing! The Salt Carmel Truffles are delicious. I had a wonderful experience at one of their complimentary (aka free!) Truffle making events! The owners Tim and Larry and helper Bill were so nice and intelligent about the science of chocolate! Handcrafted chocolates that a perfect unique gift for any occasion, either here in Albuquerque or they will ship to order! Thank you Elixir Boutique Chocolates for the delicious chocolates!

High quality. Try the corn snacks. Little, tiny elves draw the intricate designs on each chocolate.

I settled on Timmy Krack Korn Puffs, the original recipe - corn puffs with almonds and pecans, covered in hand-made butter toffee.

The iconic store, which boasts the tagline "New Mexico's Sweetest Tradition Since 1956," is predominantly red and white both inside and outside. So, this was one of my first pit stops on November 26, 2025. I grabbed butterfly and bear-shaped chocolates ($1.95 each) for all the youngsters in my family plus a box of the pecañero ($16.50 per 8 ounces). The candied pecans are absolutely delicious. There is spice, but not too much for me. My 12-year-old, on other hand, couldn't handle it. Lol. There was a variety of other candies. The nice male employee at the register worked diligently and in a friendly manner. Free ample parking was available. For more info, visit www.buffettscandies.com

This is a very relaxed store, with windows into each kitchen so you can see the employees creating chocolate delicacies. As we were looking at the eggs and bunnies, we saw the praying hands & Last Supper. The white chocolate Last Supper was more impressive than the milk chocolate one as you can see all the details in the white. Al, one of the employees, told us that the Last Supper is one of the more difficult to create. It does come out of a mold, but needs expert hands to cut away the extra chocolate that clings to the small details. Our niece bought the last one! Al also showed us the framed newspaper clippings about the store and its founders. He pointed out how the third generation is now running the store, and that some of their customers are also third generation. We bought some of the eggs, caramels, and white & milk chocolate butterflies. We are bringing them home and enjoying each and every one. We will be back!!

They tasted like something you'd be served at your grandma's house (in a good way). The teas that they served went well with the courses. They started with a strong black tea, then a beautiful butterflypea tea, and ended with a blooming green tea (the tea leaves bloomed into a flower in the glass teapot). Service: 5 Our server was excellent. She was very pleasant and did a good job of checking in on us without being annoying. The website mentions a 90 minute limit, but the waitress never rushed us. Ambiance: 4.5 The restaurant is within a tea and chocolate shop. The front is filled with antique knickknacks that are part of an estate sale and add to the grandma core vibes of the restaurant.
