Chocolate Pizza Company has been a staple in the Syracuse area for decades, but in 2010, it was purchased by Ryan Novak, who started working there at the age of 15, doing dishes and mopping floors. Ryan took the company to new heights, expanding the business twice and even getting featured on the Food Network. I've been going here for years, tried a ton of things and everything is absolutely delicious. While they have a line up of over 100 different treats, the most popular are the chocolate pizza and peanut butter wings, which are both my favorite choices as well. The chocolate pizza is made of high quality chocolate blended with homemade toffee, then topped with other candies or nuts. The peanut butter wings are my absolute favorite treat here...potato chips covered in peanut butter and gourmet chocolate. They are to die for. Prices are a tad higher than candies you're gonna find in a store, but it is high quality homemade candy, so it's to be expected, and it's worth it. Employees have always been nice and helpful anytime I've visited. You absolutely need to give it a try when in the area. read more

I've always heard about this place, but never quite understood what was happening here. Chocolate Pizza could be a lot of things, but here, we're talking about several pounds of solid high quality chocolate in the general shape and size of a pizza, blasted with your choice of candy and nuts for toppings. We're talking an obscene amount of chocolate here, no matter which one you go with. There's no slices or portioning - it's just you and whatever self control you can muster while you break off whatever you can walk away with. I got this for my girlfriend as a Valentine's Day gift, and we're still going strong on it two weeks later. I followed my regular policy when trying a new place: if they have wings, you gotta try them. Here, an order of "wings" entails a pile of full sized ridge cut potato chips dipped into peanut butter, and then into the same quality chocolate as their pizza. There are a ton of similar choices I'm sure I'll try some day. Add this place to your Syracuse bucket list if you haven't already. This store is beyond brilliant! Chocolate pizzas, peanut butter wings, oompah loompas, milk chocolate covered pretzels and mini chocolate pizzas as far as the eye can see. The wings come in plain milk chocolate (so yummy) or with peanut butter inside ruffled styled potato chips dipped in chocolate! Oh good grief where do I start? I've been here multiple times - Christmas Gifts, Birthday Gifts, Get Well Soon Gifts and of course the "I simply need my chocolate fix" excursions. I've sampled a lot of what they have to offer and it's all Soooooooo freaking good. However, by far my favorite of everything they have are their dark chocolate drum sticks. (Pretzel stick dipped in caramel, rolled in Pistachios, coated in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt.) I want one now !!! I love this place - a little pricy, but so worth it. One of my coworkers got a chocolate pizza during Christmastime and placed it near my desk. Just like that, all hopes of starting my New Year's diet early vanished. "Chocolate Pizza," might sounds like a gross concept, but rest assured, there's no sauce or cheese or dough involved. Really, it's just a giant slab of chocolate, but calling it a "pizza" has a nicer ring to it than "just eating an obscene amount of chocolate." The chocolate itself is high quality and very thick, and toppings are generous. For what it is, the price really is fair, considering that artisan candy is usually on the expensive side. read more

You can have just a plain chocolate pizza, all the way up to a fully loaded pie with all sorts of goodies on them! And yes your pizzas are also placed in a pizza box! Always fantastic. We actually ordered chocolate pizza and wings as a dessert option for a wedding rehearsal dinner we hosted. As you can imagine our guests were surprised to see the peanut butter and chocolate wings made with a potato chip base along with a chocolate Carmel pizza that had a Syracuse University twist to it.
