Service: I'm struggling to tell you how this was because I really did want to like our waitress, but she wasn't really around. We saw her only when she brought out our food, and never checked on us again. But she was nice so I'm cutting her a little bit of slack. The hostesses, though, were not so kind. When we went up to the stand, they practically ignored us and took their sweet time talking with each other before trying to seat us. It was just frustrating to watch. We went there for Christmas Eve . It was great . We had the pre-fix menu at $79 a person . They give you a lot of food . We had the Brie and fig fondue as an appetizer, then a salad , then the court bouillon which was like a chicken soup . They gave us different meat to dip in the bouillon and cook . I had a black cherry cosmo and my husband had a sangria . You can add on a filet mignon or a lobster tail for $15 /$19 , my mother in law and I both got the lobster tail . The service was great , we really liked our waitress (I forget her name) but she wasn't aware of the prefix menu so as someone who has been through the industry we went through it together. An experience one should at least have once! We were seating in a spot that had a humming noise, so we asked to be moved and the waiter had no problem at all changing our seats. I really liked the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue experience! I did not realize the waiters made them right in front of us with the ingredients. It was neat to see them mix it all together and talk about what went in. Once all set then we got to tip all the food into the fondues! I felt like I could have skipped out on the main entree part of the meal. It was a longer process to get all the food cooked either in the broth or cast iron. During the meal, the managers also asked if we needed anything else. I asked for more artichokes and received three more small pieces that we were added to our bill for four dollars. Our waitress, Lena, was friendly, efficient and so patient when explaining the menu and the variety of options. Management went table to table to check in on guests and were equally friendly and welcoming. The food was really good! We had 4 courses and even enjoyed the salad! We took our 7 year old here for dessert for his birthday because he wanted to go somewhere special. The manager, waitress, and all the staff went above and beyond to make my son's time here special. Everyone was incredibly friendly and happy for him. We arrived to balloons and strawberries on the table which was completely unexpected. Everyone sang to him and made sure he felt special every time they came to the table. The chocolate fondue was great and we all enjoyed it, but what really made the night is how amazing everyone was with my son on his special day, even if we weren't there for a whole meal. As if that wasnt enough, they made sure my other kids got some chocolate oreos to go for the road and a little stuffed melting pot to remember the night. It was my first time there, and I was unsure of what to expect or the best approach for ordering. Unfortunately, the server who attended to us appeared to be quite inexperienced. They struggled to offer any recommendations for drinks and were unable to explain the nuances and distinctions between the various cheese options available. I was just at this location! I didn't even know that there was another Melting Pot in New Jersey; I used to go to the Hoboken one quite often, and had fond memories of the scrumptious food. Needless to say, they did not disappoint as per either the food OR the service! Shout-out to our WONDERFUL waitress, Jessica...she's the MVP here, and really made our experience a great one. My wife has been asking me to go to The melting pot for years, I have in as it was her birthday and Jersey shore restaurant week. For $40.23 per person I would give it a shot. The idea of fondue never appealed to me but here I am. We started off with a cheese fondue which included 2 types of bread, apples, carrots, broccoli and tomatoes. The bread was my favorite thing to dip. I chose to grill my protein and veggies, I had salmon, steak, shrimp and chicken. My wife went with the coq au Vin pot which was where her choices of protein were cooked. I found grilling the food was quite a bit more flavorful. Dipping sauces are included, some of them were excellent. The Gorgonzola and remoulade were my favorites. I loved the desert, the chocolate sauce with nuts was excellent. I haven't gone to a fondue restaurant in years which is why for my anniversary I decided to bring my wife to do something different. The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary a memorable day and this happened with a reservation made just an hour and a half earlier. Our server was fantastic, she really made our day with her kindness and patience! The place looks fantastic and feels romantic with the low lights and the quiet atmosphere. The food was great albeit a bit overpriced for what it is. The best part of the whole meal was the cheese, which comes accompanied with bread and veggies. The salad was also delicious. The main course was a mixed experience. I don't think the steak worked too well with the mojo broth but everything else was decent. The chocolate fondue was also really good, it comes with waffle, brownies, and other sweet goodies as well as fruit so you get to try different flavors with the chocolate. The drink selection was great, I had the whiskey business and it was perfectly balanced and nicely garnished. All the various courses were delicious and the food quantities were just right. The food was tasty and good. While nothing felt slow the entire process took 2+ hours for the 3 courses. I went with two others to the Melting Pot in Red Bank tonight, and we all agreed it was a five-star experience! From the service, to the food, to the atmosphere, everything went right. We had heard from friends that it's common for customers at The Melting Pot to request a particular server. Our friends highly recommended Samantha (aka Sam) so when we made our reservations we asked to be seated at Sam's table. The Galleria, where this restaurant is located, used to be a factory so it has a cool industrial look with high ceilings, exposed duct work, and old brick walls. I love that look! Since we had not been to this restaurant before, Sam began with a well-presented explanation of the menu, food, and ordering options. I liked how clearly she described everything. We ordered drinks, two different cheese fondues, rosemary fries ($4.95), and a charcuterie board ($12.95). All the food looked just beautiful arranged on a big platter (see photo). My lemon berry mojito ($10.95) was pretty so I photographed that too. Once Sam began making the fondue in the pots at our table, I understood why the individual flair of the server contributes to the whole Melting Pot experience. It's a bit like watching show on The Food Network. Sam kept us engaged with her warm and bubbly personality as she commented on the cooking process. The entire meal was delicious! We preferred the spicy "Top Shelf Fiesta" Fondue ($11.50) to the mild "Quattro Formaggio" Fondue ($11.95). The bread, apples, grapes, cauliflower, and broccoli that come with the fondue are unlimited and Sam provided us with refills quickly. The quantity of food was just right for the three of us, but we were curious to taste dessert so we got one Bananas Foster Fondue to all share ($10.95). Pros: Interior is nicely decorated and the fondue experience was fun. Our waiter was also very kind and personable. We chose the quatro formaggio cheese fondue which was was italian inspired with flavors of pesto, garlic, and parmesean. Cons: Service was so slow. Took forever for the waitor to return to our table on multiple occasions. The whole dinner took 3 hours from start to finish, unnecessarily. Also would not recommend ordering the 4 course dinner. I was under the impression that we would be dipping the entreé meats in cheese, but all we did was boil it in a broth and put sauce on it. I would rather go to a chinese hotpot place to do that. Heed the advice from the other reviewers and skip the 4 course meal! You save a lot of money if you stick with just the cheese and chocolate fondue (no entreé). If ordering the 4 course meal for 2 people, it will set you back about $125 after tax and tip. I'm not big into dipping vegetables in cheese, but the bread tasted great! Salad: California; fresh and adequate portion. Entree Cooking Style: Coq Au Vin; nice combinations of spices, garlic and mushrooms. However, I don't find the meats or veges very flavorful when cooked yourself at Melting Pot. My husband made us reservations for Valentines weekend. We purposely did not go on the 14th because we wanted the regular menu. We were even able to select the regular menu when making the reservation which ensured it was available. It is now 2 hours before our reservation and we get a call that they are only serving a prefixed menu. Why give people the option online to order off the regular menu if you aren't offering it ? The fondue concept was big at parties some 40 years ago, where you heated your favorite cheeses and chocolate and dipped bread, fruit, veggies or meat over a nice glass of wine and light conversation. The presentation is the same in a public venue such as this one in the Galleria in Red Bank. The ambiance is excellent, a certain industrial-look. The staff was super friendly as was the shift manager Eric, whom I might add is a proud new father. Keep in mind the portions are small and you can run up a hefty bill if you're famished. Visited the melting pot tonight for a friends birthday and enjoyed the time. The interior of this place is so cute, I really liked it. I could totally see coming back here for a special date night but I would probably order differently. We did the 4 course forever fondue. I do not recommend this unless you and everyone in your party are big BIG eaters. The spinach and artichoke cheese fondue was nice and flavorful. I had the California salad which I thought was amazing. (By this time, I'm already full lol) next comes the filet, chicken, shrimp and teriyaki beef. We opted for the cast iron skillet to cook it on. Get ready for a LOOOONG cooking process. The skillet also didn't get evenly hot so some pieces didn't cook at all on certain areas of the skillet. The dipping sauces were all ok besides the teriyaki one which I thought was good. I didn't partake in the chocolate fondue but everyone else in my party seemed to enjoy it.
