This looks like a bookstore from outside. I love the vibe when you walk in. It actually feels like a speakeasy. You have to open a secret door when you walk inside the lighting the decor is all phenomenal. We did have to have a reservation as the place is completely booked on a Friday night, even the bar was too capacity. We were seated right away as we had reservations, the nice part about the reservations as well as you could text them to get those reservations. We had dinner prior to our reservations, so we didn't get a chance to try the food although the menu that was in a folded binder was lit when it opened a very cool little feature. The drink menu could've been a little bit more extensive for their specialty drinks, however, they had what seemed like hundreds of liquor options for you to make your own or to choose something on the rocks. Our server Nate was excellent, he suggested and recommended different drinks for us, he also brought over a little cheesecake because it was Amanda's birthday this week. Just an outstanding location vibe service experience. All of that. We would highly recommend it and if we're back in Binghamton, we would definitely go. If I lived in Binghamton. This is the place I would bring all of my guests to. Would we go back, absolutely, so much so that we are hoping or would love to see this in our hometown

The space is large, the service is good, the drinks are good, and the food was well above average. Getting inside is way easier than expected, just, pull the very visible door knob. The restaurant had a tropical shirt miami beach theme that made me want a golden girls kaftan. We had a larger party so we booked a reservation the night before. Our table was ready on time and we were quickly seated. Our sever was attentive and quick to get drink and food orders. I wasn't drinking but the tropical summer theme certainly carried over into their drink menu. I ordered the poutin-ish for my meal not quite sure what curry I would get and happily it was Japanese style curry sauce. It was a perfect meal for the morning. Would love to go back again sometime.

We had a great table on the water. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed. The staff did a great job managing the work flow. Clearly an experienced group of people. We ordered the top item on the menu, the cheese steak sandwich, added some peppers. It was quite good. The fries here are and definitely get an order. The problem happened when I ordered the house burger- another top menu item. I asked for "medium rare", which should have a hot center but some pink left. What I got was well done- and dry as the desert. I had to drink a lot of water to wash it down. Normally-if this was a steak, I'd send it back. But- it was a burger and the kitchen was already jammed, so I choked it down- I was really hungry. I would not order the steak here- pretty sure a 6 ounce filet would end badly. Other dishes being served at other tables looked great. I would come back here. It's a great place. Thus- 5 stars.

Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

The atmosphere was very nice and cozy, all the patrons were pleasant and we had some interesting conversations. The food was delicious, the pickled eggs (which I never heard of) were to die for. While the cigarette smoke hangs heavily at Twisted Dick's, the beer is super cheap and the people are easy-going and chatty. Our delicious food--fried pickles, mmm--was carefully prepared by a single elderly lady in the small kitchen in the back. High point of the night at Twisted Dick's was having another patron buy the entire place a round of drinks, which was a bit shocking until we realized that it probably only cost him $20 and then had us seriously considering a permanent relocation to Meshoppen.
