The variety of selection was eye popping and food was delicious. I cannot thank the hotel for their great service. The environment was clean and quiet, our experience as a whole family was great.

We thought it would primarily be brunch/breakfast items but there was such a large selection and variety of items. The staff were very nice and accommodating. They also had live music which was a nice mood setter. You get juice, pop, coffee or tea included with your meal. Alcoholic drinks are extra charge. We had gone on a regular Sunday and not an "event" Sunday so am not sure of other offerings. There was sushi, inari sushi, dumplings, sticky rice (but not sure if the dimsum was leftover from lunar new year special), roast beef, ham, mussels, shrimp cocktail, fried rice, short rib, roasted vegetables (REAL veg not just bagged corn and peas like other places lol), sablefish, grilled chicken, eggs benny station, omelette station, charcuterie, scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, mini avo toasts and dessert bar. The only real downside is the overall price. I think just given the location I wish it were slightly cheaper. Adults are $45 and seniors are $37. There aren't a lot of good quality buffets around so I do understand it sets them apart it just may attract more guests at a bit of a cheaper price. Or maybe it they had something in conjunction with the casino to offer a discount that would be another incentive to get people across the bridge. I would be more so inclined to bring them back at a different rate as we are coming from Burnaby and Vancouver.

Extra plus? The shower had such amazing water pressure and after traveling nonstop for a week, this was so relaxing to enjoy. The staff is usually friendly, though I didn't appreciate the employee who checked me in this time calling me "hey you," when they called me over to advise my room was ready. My name is right in front of you on the screen, use it. The hotel is connected by a covered walkway to the casino, so definitely wander that way and lose, or win, some money.

A lot has changed since my original FTR review (#1) so many years ago and now the River Rock has…read morebecome a full fledged destination in Richmond. It's become a gambler's paradise, a parking spot for the Richmond Night Market, and a hotel resort for visitors like yours truly. Now I can say I'm officially part of the latter. Things I liked:. * The price ($150USD a night) for a 1 BR suite. While prices fluctuate for any property, River Rock still has inventory when other competing hotels don't. Plus, the prices during the week are going to be one's best bet. * The bed: Who doesn't love a good comfy bed? The rooms are spacious without being too stuffy. Even the sofa bed was decent, a rarity for couch beds. * Casino: Slots are everywhere, but the table game action is solid, especially given the late night crowd. It's hard to resist the idea of playing Free Bet Blackjack, which allows one to double down and split with no risk. The catch though is that 22 is a push. * The pool: This is no ordinary hotel pool. If anything, it's reminiscent of a resort pool with different levels, and is perfect for the youngins to enjoy some water sports. There are so jacuzzis and a huge water slide, and rock tunnel. Add to the views around Richmond and it's a fun daytime activity. Things I didn't love: * West Tower Elevator has been out for close to a month. This leaves only one elevator in operation. And it's a slow elevator. * Despite getting a suite, it felt dated. The carpet was dark, much of the room's furniture looked worn, and there weren't enough outlets. * The long walk from the hotel to the parking garage. It's a hike. It's even more of an issue with the older folks walking gingerly back to hotel. * The garage parking lot elevator and stairs often smell like urine. (#2) ___________ (#1) First to review. (#2) For the person last in the elevator: Urine luck.

Food tasted fresh and some of the items were quite authentically Chinese. There was even live entertainment with a singer singing Chinese and English songs. Lastly, there were colouring sheets and crayons to keep the kids busy. Staff stopped by regularly to clear dirty dishes and refill drinks. Our server was friendly. When we were leaving, the kids received a red pocket on the way out. The kids were happy to get a chocolate coin in the red pocket envelope. Overall, great experience and I will be back to try their regular Sunday AYEC brunch.

They had a sushi station, roastbeef station, chef station where they freshly make the waffles, pancakes, omeletes, and egg benedicts. I love how its made freshly in front of you and how there is so much people yet smooth and quick lines. They even had a cooked station, seafood section, dessert station with a chocolate fountain and a charcutier station. Overall there was quite the variety and all the foods including cooked and chef stations were so good and delicious. I would come again cause of how much variety there really is!

It's still slim pickings in food, and what is available is pricey. The good slot machines continue to go and the new once suck. I still end up here because my husband likes it. We used to visit this place once in a while before COVID. Today June 5, 2026, we attended a…read morebusiness event there as registered guests. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find security guards at the entrance requiring government photo identification. It struck us as a sign of how much the situation has changed in Metro Vancouver that a venue we once entered freely now has security screening. One person in our group, a 93-year-old woman, did not have photo identification with her. She does not drive, and both her BC ID card and health card are currently being renewed, leaving her without government-issued photo ID at the moment. Who would have thought she would need to bring her Canadian passport to attend a private event? The security guards strictly enforced the policy and denied her entry. Despite the obvious circumstances and the fact that she was a registered guest attending a private event, no discretion or flexibility was shown. The event organizers themselves requested an exception on her behalf, but their request was also denied. I have since learned that the casino has changed ownership and is own by Snuneymuxw First Nation, which may explain the heightened security measures and a more rigid approach to guest screening. Unfortunately, the experience left the impression that management and security were exercising poor judgment and showing little flexibility, even in the case of a clearly elderly guest attending a registered event. What should have been an enjoyable occasion became a disappointing and frustrating experience. In addition, the atmosphere in the surrounding area seems very different from what it used to be. Personally, I no longer feel as comfortable or secure in the area, particularly after dark. Overall, this was not the welcoming experience we had come to expect from this venue. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
