This time I booked an appointment with the same hearing specialist. This was an out of my way trip. When I arrived, I received a free hearing test and was told I would be talking to the man in the next room about the newest hearing technology. I told the hearing specialist I would not invest any money in this that wasn't covered by insurance. She took my insurance card and checked with my insurance company. I talked to the man and he gave quite a sells pitch. I said no. I found out later that I was out of network. Beltone had dropped my coverage. SO BEWARE. Check your insurance before you go.

Then she essentially told me to check myself that I was imagining things (not verbatim but the message was clear). All this probing ended with her saying she couldn't perform an assessment and I should go to Kent. Could have just started and ended with that ma'am. Got off the phone and realized how inappropriate and uncomfortable that entire situation was. If you want someone who actually believes you and will provide help, don't go here.

She showed me charts and graphs so I would better understand my hearing loss. She then suggested what type of hearing aids I would need, and let me try a pair of samples. In another appointment, I brought my wife, and Dr. Janelle reviewed everything with her. I gave the go-ahead, and the hearing aids come in a week later. Dr. Lisa Chandonais fitted me with the new hearing aids via computer and Bluetooth technology. I saw Dr. Janelle again to make adjustments, and I'm now hearing things I haven't heard in years. These two ladies are very professional, yet very down to earth and easy to deal with. Dr. Janelle had to check something out for me with the hearing aid manufacturer, and promised to email me the results. I received her very thorough email within hours. You want to shop around? By all means, go ahead. But make sure you visit these folks. Maybe you'll get the cheapest price on hearing aids from them, maybe you won't. But if you do some research, you'll find that, as usual, you get what you pay for. So if their hearing aids are more expensive than someone else's, there's a good reason. In any event, I guarantee you that you won't get better service anywhere else.

The other staff members are all the same way. It's just a really wonderful environment. My mom is 99 so she's been to a few audiologist, and this one by far is the best. It's a very enjoyable, pleasant experience every time we come. She also has hearing aids that are not over priced and work well.
