I know they usually carry soft chewy ones with flavors like peanutbutter or carob or pumpkin, etc. but when I was looking around I only saw hard crunchy ones. I prefer to get soft chewy ones so I can break them up when training and he prefers softer treats anyway. So as I was looking around, a nice young man asked me if I needed help & I said, "no thank you!" Because I was still looking around & he said, "holler if you need me!" So when I looked through all the treats, I realized I didn't see any soft chewy ones. So I looked for the nice young man but this woman with short red hair asked me if I needed help & I simply asked, "do you have any soft chewy vegetarian treats?" & she looked at me with this judgey face & in a condescending pushy tone responded, "Dogs are CARNIVORES. They NEED meat . Humans can be vegetarians, sure. But dogs they NEEED meat." She had this tone like she was talking down on me & talking down to me at the same time & this made me very uncomfortable. I just "yes-ed" her & then I said, "he has some allergies as well." & she goes, "Yeah? Like WHAT?" & I know I didn't owe her any explanations but I told her he's allergic to chicken & beef & she goes "Well he can eat LAMB or BISON .. because he's a CARNIVORE." Little does she know, the oldest living recorded dog was vegan so... But, that's besides the point. They say vegans are pushy? I simply asked a question that required a SIMPLE response. She could have just left it at, "Sorry we only have the crunchy treats!" But, no she had to SHOVE her opinion down my throat & try to act like she knows more than me. This just made me so uncomfortable I left. Because of her, I will not return to this location. She made my experience very uncomfortable & I felt very unwelcome.

At my first visit I met with Peter Izzo and Joe Orrico. They were in sales in the retail store and loaded with know how about how to start...right where I left off. In no time at all I had the perfect tank, filter, heater, live plants and fish....and I never looked back. Now Peter and Joe are in the front office in charge of in home custom set-up and maintenance. Just two days ago, Joe rolled up to my house in the big HOF van to do a refresh of my 65 gallon freshwater tank. He spent 3 hours pruning and relocating plants, shifting hardscape. It was as though my fish tank had a spa day...down to scraping the sides and glass top, removing every single bit of algae. He topped it off with changing the pre-filters in my Oase filters and a water change! All the while, Joe offered advice to maintain what he had just done. It was a genius session. Frankly, this is why HOF is my go-to for anything "fishy". It is the ultimate! In the store it is Casey and Aiden for solid advice. They know their stuff. If there is any fish you want they will do their best to get it for you. Ok, I'll stop know. If it is know-how bout fish keeping, and what equipment, food...anything you want to know about your hobby, get yourself to House of Fins in Greenwich. Hilary S.

Easily 50-100% more expensive than any other top quality with knowledgeable owners/staff reef shops in the tristate area. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying a premium to ensure a good shop remains in business but these guys are priced out of my comfort zone (and reef keeping is an expensive hobby as it is)

This is kind of a smallish Petsmart, but it's only a few minutes away from where I live, so it's convenient to go to pick up a few items. Overall the selection is pretty decent, although the clothing section really could use more warm weather clothing in winter. I was able to find maybe one sweater for my dog, which really didn't fit anyway. Other than that, they are pretty ok, toy and food wise. Like I said, I come here because it's close by.

He said, "no, we don't, he's not our insane son." We were heading home from somewhere and stopped at the one in Stamford on West Avenue and bought a frog -- and the cashier double-charged us. My husband pointed this out and the cashier immediately got angry and told him not to tell him how to tell him to do his job. All we wanted was a refund for the extra charge, as we purchased one frog. He forced my husband to sign up for their 7,000 emails, which are endless spam, and kept insisting it was two frogs. When my husband said, "use your eyes" - he said, "I KNOW YOU, YOU CAUSED A RUCKUS IN HERE" -- which was interesting, as we'd never BEEN in that store before -- and it was just a nightmare. It seems all PetSmarts are busy employing some of the dumbest, meanest, and strangest people on earth -- who do not know how to treat customers properly, but also, always seem to be hiring (no shock there) but do not seem willing to hire competent people. No more PetSmart.
