She carries the the brand and particular type I need, and keeps it in stock for me. Cindy has always been so helpful with questions about our dogs and cat. I went by to buy some dog food for my dog and I needed a new harness for her I wanted some information about what would be a good size for her and I barely got any help. The lady there I think her name was Cindy just kept giving me a weird look like I had 3 heads and was just really rude to me. She had an attitude when I asked her questions and seemed like she didn't like me being there. Everything was overpriced and it was a little bit messy. I think a dog had peed there before I got there because there was a puddle in the back by the bowls and it looked like it was sitting there for a bit. So nasty. Nasty woman who owns this place. Not to mention overpriced. It is located next to the Darien Animal Hospital. I had to take my very sick dog to the hospital this morning and there was a large truck parked outside the hospital and I missed the turn into the hospital parking lot. I pulled into the Pawprint Market and turned around to get to the hospital and nasty owner of paw print was outside and started yelling and swearing at me. My god, I could not believe how rude she was. I have only been there two times because their goods are very over priced but I will never return. I cannot believe someone who owns a business could be so nasty. Stay away. read more

We used to shop her all the time for our pets - be believe in supporting small business and it is convenient to our house. Unfortunately, they have hired a sales person who does not do them any favors. I was in the store a few months ago and she was screaming and hitting her dog who had just soiled a dog bed - yelling "do not piss on the bed, do not piss on the bed" and I could hear her hitting the dog. I vowed I would never go back. Yesterday I needed two specific items so I stopped in. The owner's dog, Naughty, came running to greet me. The same sales woman was yelling at the dog and then when Naughty came back to her she grabbed the dog's collar and yelled into her face "what part of 'no' don't you understand" and roughly pulled her by the collar. I don't care who you are, but especially if you work in a pet store (1) that is not effective discipline of a dog and (2) how you do that in front of a customer is way beyond my understanding. I put down my two items I was going to purchase and walked out. No thanks, I won't be back, at least not until they figure out that their employee is driving customers away. Sad because I like the ladies who own / run the store. read more

Today we went to the paw print market for our dog to look for our toys. She is a german shepherd mix, a year and a half old, and is incredibly sweet. I went in looking for a toy that is not easily destructible because she has very strong teeth. The staff was very friendly in the beginning, and then the woman helping us thought the owner would be more of a help. We spoke to the owner about how she chews on other things besides toys when she gets bored, and the owner suggested a few things. She then proceeded to tell us that if a dog chews on things (she is a puppy still, year and a half old approx.), they need to be in a crate all day and all night. The woman said she keeps her dog in its crate for 16 hours each day (while she is at work, and while it is nighttime), because she believes this is the best for the dog. Personally, I believe this is no way for a dog to live. That is just my personal belief, and I would never keep my dog in a crate for that long. (This is just my opinion and I understand dogs need to be crate trained, but I believe that is way too much time). We spoke more, and I explained that she is a rescue and therefore is very needy for attention and is destructive when she is left alone. The woman asked how young she was when we got her, and I told her 5 months. I told her she was a rescue, and the woman replied telling me that she is too young to be a rescue. Me, being a 16 year old and my two younger siblings were in complete utter shock. I was almost in tears. We adopted my dog when she was second in line to death at a kill shelter, probably 15 minutes before she was killed. She was also abused at a very young age. And your telling me this dog is not a rescue? My heart sunk hearing that, it was absolutely terrible. The store has great things, but we had a terrible experience there and will not be going back. read more
