The most American thing on the menu is the fried chicken wings and it's AWFUL! The sauce for the shrimp and vegetables is bland. The shrimp is over cooked and the steamed white rice is so dry, we're talking BASIC food and I'm Asian, it was so dry it's like day old rice it should be thrown out. Why did these 5 Star false reviews lead me to this place. SMH. 1 extra star for the nice staff.

The space feels modern, clean, and elevated, which immediately sets higher expectations going in. The quality of the food is clearly good, and the flavors are bold and well developed. That said, the pricing is significantly higher than your typical local Chinese spot, easily about double the price, and unfortunately it does not feel like it is twice as good. For example, a small lunch General Tso's chicken was $16, which felt very overpriced for the portion. While the flavor was great, the chicken was a bit soggy, and the shrimp wontons were also soft, which may have been due to the food being takeout and not fresh from the kitchen. Overall, Tres Yan and Wu offers great flavor and a high end setting, but the value just does not quite match the cost. If price is not a concern, you will probably enjoy the food, but if you are comparing it to classic neighborhood Chinese takeout, it is hard to justify paying that much more for a similar level of satisfaction.
