What are these 5 star ratings?? Has anyone in the area ever eaten good Chinese food? Or you just don't know any better? The most American thing on the menu is the fried chicken wings and it's AWFUL! The sauce for the shrimp and vegetables is bland. The shrimp is over cooked and the steamed white rice is so dry, we're talking BASIC food and I'm Asian, it was so dry it's like day old rice it should be thrown out. Honest review: My first time visiting this restaurant 15 mins away from my home but I decided to give it a try because of the yelp reviews. I called and placed my order(fairly large) and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I was about a mile away they called me to see if I was coming to get the food(15mins after my call to place the order). I arrived to find a very empty location on a Saturday night and a sign that read "prefer cash due to credit card surcharge" of course being as though this was my first time visiting I was unaware of this(I would have liked to have been notified of this at the time of my call to order). The food was bagged and ready to go, she gave me the price and that surprised me because it was not the prices I saw on the menus posted on YELP. I mentioned this to them and they said, "oh those are not our menus, just our reviews". I'm not sure how I feel about that response but I paid with my card(with an additional 3%). I was determined not to allow that experience determine my review of the food. We plated the food and everyone including myself was very happy with the qualify of the food and the taste. I'm doing my part by posting this review along with the current menu pic(Jan2026) much more costly than other local restaurants but I believe it's ok when you are paying for quality. They are running a scam! they have signs posting 3% charge for using credit cards. This is not so Instead when you do the math, which is what I did after I left thinking that's more than 3%, you're in fact actually charged 4% and not 3% credit card surcharge add on. this means they are doing this to every single customer and they know about this because when I asked at the counter if it was 3%, she said, "it adds it up automatically". ok so she didn't really answer Yes it is 3%. as a business owner, you know every detail of everything that goes on in your business because you're hands on! so they know about this. So the food is good but the prices are very high. I ordered the habanero Mongolian beef, crab Rangoon, and beef teriyaki on a stick. Habanero Mongolian Beef (18.50): Good flavor. Decent portion. Very spicy. Crab Rangoon (8.50): People rave about these, and they are good but fairly standard. It's cream cheese with imitation crab and scallions in a fried wonton. 6 come in an order. Beef Teriyaki (12.50): tastes very good but 12.50 seems very high for something that's around $6-$8 at any other Chinese spot. Definitely not for me. I tried the boneless spare ribs which were HUGE and fatty. I'm used to the smaller, skinnier ones. Pork fried rice was average. Egg roll was SOOOO bad and gray inside. The fried chicken wings were also not what you usually get from a Chinese place. They are small flats and drums, not the big wing you usually get. Here's where you can get the type of Chinese food that you remember when you were a kid. Nothing fancy, just good old fashion Chinese food. Basically, take out only served in the familiar white paper containers. Portions are big. We ordered way to much for two people. It was still tasty the next day. We started with soup, my wife wonton and hot and sour for me. After that, we each had a dish with a protein and fresh vegetables. Although each a little different, the vegetables were plentiful and perfectly cooked. Our only mistake was that we should have ordered the small size portions. Very very good local Chinese take out. My family decided on Chinese food as a last minute dinner a few nights ago. We each got a dinner combo and shared. General tsos chicken (one of our go-to Chinese take out dishes), chicken with garlic sauce, and Szechuan beef. Portion sizes are always fair. These dinner combos came with pork fried rice and egg rolls. The heat profile in each dish was nice and the general tso's was fried perfectly. 2024 9 years later after my first visit and I can still say this is the best Chinese food in south Jersey, although it's presents in the last 9 years has spawned competition and improved the local Chinese cuisine in general, it is still the best. Excellent and worth driving an hour to go to. We craved above average Chinese food and this place excelled our expectations. We ordered the mu shu chicken, crab Rangoon, chicken with cashew nuts and egg rolls. We were so happy with the fresh ingredients, the Smokey flavor of fresh mu shu, the delectable taste of the chicken dishes and the crunchy non greasy egg rolls. My husband's palate is so picky but this place really filled his Chinese food void. He even ran back in the restaurant and gave them an extra tip.
