Tried Chopstix again last night after years. Pricing is on par with other places in the area. The sesame chicken was good and tasted fresh. The fried rice it came with had no veggies or eggs in it and was pretty bland - no up charge for fried over white rice but there isn't a huge difference in flavor regardless. The steamed dumplings were great. Large and flavorful. The sauce was a bit thin and lacking flavor though. The crab Rangoon were sweet (before the sauce) instead of savory and the sauce for this was also very thin. I would get them again, just be prepared for more of a cheesecake taste vs something a bit more onion or garlicky. Overall, pretty decent Chinese for the area, and everything was decent to good except the fried rice. read more

Great service, order was ready on time, 15 minutes. Nice and crunchy egg rolls and plump potstickers. We also had chicken fried rice, which I would not recommend as it was only fried rice with chicken, no small veggies or egg. The pork Lo Mein was good, just noodles, pork and onion. Been wanting to try this Chinese Place. I did so tonight and I am very disappointed. I guess I should have ordered something to go along with my House Special Fried Rice. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken large combo. They gave me a small size of the sweet and sour sauce with one pineapple in there I actually had to go back there because they messed up my mom's order of shrimp with lobster sauce. My husband and I moved to Lindenhurst in 1993. We started ordering Chinese food almost immediately as we are originally from Chicago and really missed our restaurants! There was a woman there named Amy that I just adored! She and I used to laugh and talk all the time. Eventually, she and her husband retired and some relatives took over. I believe it changed hands a few times. I always enjoyed the food there. Recently, my husband has been going there to pick up some things. I noticed the quality wasn't the same. The beef with peapods had been my favorite but the order that I got last week was so salty! I called to complain and the woman who answered the phone suddenly pretended that she couldn't understand English at all. The shrimp fried rice is awful! It was never even fried. The shrimp were like they just came out of a Frozen bag color. There were just a couple of vegetables? In the rice and it also looks someone sprayed gravy in the rice to make it look darker small shrimp milk in but they hadn't been cooked on a stove, wok or anything. I decided to give these people another try and I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I have wonderful memories of this place and it's time for me to close this chapter. Please do not insult the people who are purchasing food from you. We are doing you an honor and you are providing a disservice. I had some photos of the food and after I was done taking pictures I threw the food away unfortunately my children here really to play with them and I'm missing those pictures. I can't get the terrible taste of their food out of my mouth. Flavorless egg rolls - adding the goop from the sauce packets didn't hemp - and that stuff isn't real Chinese mustard - I don't think there is anything real in it. Next up neon yellow "chicken" soup with won tons. That soup had nothing related to any chickens I've ever seen. The won tons did have meat in them, but all I tasted was salt. No need to be fooled by the small location in a strip-mall, nor the simple decor - this food is exemplary! This is my parent's favorite place for Chinese take-out. They live in a very small town, and this restaurant is in the small-town next door. The young lady at the register, Yuki, was patient, kind, and fast! After taking my order, she disappeared behind the curtain-covered door and went to help prepare the order. I was uber-impressed that when I gave my Dad's order and its nuances, Yuki knew immediately who I was ordering for. That's a sign that a business knows its clientele! After only 10 minutes, the order was ready and I took a PIPING hot take-out order home to my parents. They use nice/large covered trays for their take-out orders. Easy to serve from. The food was fantastic!!!! I had orange chicken. My parents had pepper steak and Mongolian beef. They also had house special fried rice and won-ton soup. It was all soooooo good! I've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant around the area, this has easily become my favorite!!! Their food is freshly made to order and so full of flavor! The sesame chicken and egg rolls are my favorite, my son's all about the chicken on a stick! The veggie lo mein is also quite delicious! Over all, I'd definitely recommend this place! I have been looking for some decent asian takeout since I have first landed in Champaign and I have to say this has been the best so far. Open from 4pm-3am I feel very catered to as a sleepless college student. I HIGHLY recommend any of the brown sauce dishes (general tso's as well). However, the wonton soup isn't great and the broth is somehow greasy. Also, the egg rolls taste as good as a bag of frozen ones you could pick up at any grocery store. Dishes are usually ready within 15 minutes and staff is super polite. In my opinion the prices are a little high especially for takeout food on a college campus. I love love Love Chinese food and have been under the mindset that Chicago has The Best Chinese food... But an 1hr commute for some food is not always feasible:/! I had been here a few years ago and was unimpressed. Went back today for lunch and WOW. Lunch specials are $6.50 with rice and egg roll. Portion size was actually more than I could eat, and that's saying something. Almost too large for lunch. Had General Tso Chicken and my date had the Sweet & Sour Pork. Both were really good. Sauces all seemed to be made in house. Food was ready in 10 minutes (always seems to be the case with this cuisine) and was served piping hot. Egg roll was crispy. General Tso was super crispy and spices were perfect to my taste. Added a bowl of Wonton Soup for a buck and it was really outstanding. I think it had four wontons and was really tasty. Broth was well reduced and concentrated. Service was perfect, pricing excellent. Atmosphere really is just a few tables and not elegant, but that's more my style for lunch anyway. The Kung Pao chicken was spicy and had large pieces of chicken, the egg rolls were delicious and the crab rangoon was full of filling and very tasty. I'm giving this a generous two star rating since I didn't get sick eating the food here. Beyond that, not much to say that's positive. The crab Rangoon was a slim wonton with very little filling, and even less fake crab meat. The sesame chicken was either over cooked or had serious freezer burn prior to being cooked. This would have been fine had my doctor prescribed a workout for my jaw, but definitely not pleasant to consume. The rice was fine...hard to mess that one up. I was hoping to find redemption in the fortune cookie but, nope. Stale stale stale and a non sensical "happy life follow you close" prediction. Hopefully I'll find better Chinese carryout in this area, because it would be hard to find worse. read more

A favorite eating establishment of mine stands right next door to Chopstix, and it shares the outdoor patio area, so on the way home from the Duck Farm dog walking park, we decided to give it a try. Ordering was easy enough, and they even brought our order out to the patio, take-out style, and that is where the problems began. We had ordered Fried Won Ton, Pork Fried Rice, Lemon Chicken, and Home Style Bean Curd. Unfortunately, whoever had packed this all up in a plastic grocery bag had laid the lemon sauce for the chicken on its side, and half of the sauce escaped the container, making for a sticky mess. I will say that they tried to clean things up as best possible, but we still ended up both having to wash the sticky residue from our hands after the meal, and leftovers had to be repackaged once I got home. As for the food, the Won Ton was okay but not great, lacking much meat, and I have had far better Pork Fried Rice as well. This was prepared Cantonese Style (dark), but it was more mild than I am accustomed to. The Lemon Chicken tasted alright, but I believe the chicken was probably prepared at some commercial kitchen and delivered to the restaurant frozen. I've seen and tasted exactly the same thing at numerous Chinese Buffets over the years. The Bean Curd was actually pretty decent, probably the high point of the meal. Sadly, this is one I'll put down in the books as a one time only visit. There is far better Chinese to be had in the area. read more

I have to update my previous review....there are new owners, and wow! has this places quality risen. We live a block away, so this was always a "just okay" basic Chinese restaurant, but it has changed to a "pretty darn good!" Chinese Restaurant! :) The meat is much better quality as are the veggies and such. They will tell you 20 minutes for when your order is ready, but it is closer to 10 minutes 98% of the time. We like to pick it up right when it is ready, so if you are the same, divide the weight time in half. There are several tables if you choose to sit down there and eat, too. read more

This is a no-frills type of place and in my view does the trick well if your wanting a Chinese meal. The place is small and the decor certainly is not hollywood, but what counts is the food is good. The appetizers comes out quickly and the main meal follows soon after. So, if you want to socialize and not rush thru, order your appetizer first, wait until it comes to the table then order your main meal. Much of the business for this place is carry out, so you shouldn't have too much trouble in getting a seat. The owner is pleasant and is accommodating in modifying any of your food choices. I really wanted to like this place. This was my favorite Chinese spot growing up but hadn't gone for the last several years. I was noticing the recent bad reviews and was hoping they were wrong. Unfortunately the bad reviews were spot on and it must be due to new management. I ordered pork fried rice and it was borderline inedible. There were so many large and small chunks of fat and cartilage that I had to pick each piece out just so I could eat the rice. There were no other vegetables in the dish besides rice so it was basically rice(not great either), sprouts, and chunks of pork fat. The owners were very nice but they absolutely must know the food is terrible. Either close your doors or step up your game. The people of Lindenhurst deserve better and so does the legacy of the former Chopstix. read more

After giving her my phone number, she immediately gave me an angry face and said "I told 30 minutes. Not ready. " Needless to say, I said "me not ready" and walked out. She was one of the daughters. Before it was a consistently decent Chinese take-out. relatively fast, nice people, and the real American CHinese restaurant type thing, nothing fancy, nothing bad.
