Chori located in Palmero is all about the Choripan. This is a sandwich that is popular in Buenos Aires showcasing their chorizo sausages made in house. Great service and location for an afternoon exploring the city.

Que buenoooo!!! Great environment, very nice service and definitely worth it, if you want a medium price delicious treat for lunch! Very satisfied, if I could I would have it for lunch every day. Flavors were very nicely balanced, tasteful and delicate at the same time! :)

At the surface this is just any other fast food spot. Under the surface.... They are making choripan with non traditional toppings and ingredients and it WORKS!!! The service is too slow to be considered fast food but the time is worth it. I had the BEST choripan of my entire 1 week visit in Buenos Aires here. No one ese can compare. The gin & tonics were pretty damn yummy too!!

It's a choripan fast food place. Many verities. Kinda home on the wall with great choripans. Must have when in Palermo area or in BA. Ambient is fast food type with decent indoor and outdoor seating. Location is perfect for exploring the Palermo area or finish with a sandwich after the expedition Service is a bit slow or found on how busy they are.

There was good but not great food here. Service was good, and the ambiance was hip. It is recommended if you are in the neighborhood but not for a special trip.

Nice gourmet twist on Choripan. Yes, it's more expensive than your typical choripan, but it's an upscale take on it with interesting toppings. I ate here twice during my vacation recently, and I got the Chorichanga and the smoked pork chori. The Chorichanga was amazing! The smoked pork had good flavor, but I think it needs something to give it a little more texture or crunch. They have menus in English as well.

This place makes such a good sandwich! Seriously, it's the best sandwich I had in Argentina while traveling for weeks. I come from Texas which knows it's meats, and these guys use sausage in such a wonderful way that I wish I could return for another! The flavors are perfectly balance between savory, salty, sweet, and smokey. The garnishes like garlic mayo and orange reductions are great additions. Prices are a steal at $5 a sandwich, but the $4 fries are a touch steep on price. They will get busy so try going outside if generic lunch or dinner hours. Indoor and outdoor seating is available but stick to the inside to avoid bad or hot weather. Free Wi-Fi is available and credit card is accepted.

Husband found this super cool place while researching restaurants in Palermo. Apparently it is really popular and famous in Buenos Aires for the fast-food concept with sausages. It wasn't really "fast food" - ours took around 10-15 minutes to be ready, but we grabbed a gin and tonic and took a seat outside in the pedestrian alleyway. Great location in the heart of Palermo. We ordered the smoked pork chorizo and another that came with kraft American cheese slices and pickles, which I didn't really like. Overall the food was fine - it's just a place to get a snack.

This is very popular and famous in Buenos Aires, mostly everyone I met recommend this place. It's a fast food place specializing chorizo on the buns. There are variety of chorizo or others to choose from. Also alcohol available even happy hour. I had the smoked pork chorizo which is delicious. A lot of Mayo tho. And they had 2-1 gin and tonic drinks special, you can choose lemon, rosemary or cucumber in the drink. Pick a seat outside sit it the Sun on the alley way on the perfect day is the best way to experience like a local

It's a rare thing when you order off the menu what should be a satisfying amount and, despite the quantity of the food being more than adequate to satiate oneself, you still feel compelled to order and split an entire second seating because it was just that good. That happened at Chori - after finishing our first sandwich each, we decided with almost zero debate, to get another. Spectacular. If we could have fit it, we probably would have went for a third!

Yellow and funky art. That's the theme.

Palermo is loaded with lots of options. Chori, however, is the one I visited several times due to taste, quality and overall value. Love the yellow theme, and if there is any single lesson to take from Buenos Aires, and which Chori will help teach, it is that Argentine chorizo occupies a specific niche. Very distinct from the Mexican and Spanish varieties we know so well. Choripans are so simple, yet so good. Now and again I think of choripan, and wonder whether I'll ever get them like in BA. It's like a love from long ago, but with food. Great beer selection too. This makes it a great late night spot, but truth is it's great all the time.

Massively wonderful healthy eating in Palermo…read more This is fun food - not haute cuisine. And there is healthy animal based food available for those that want it. Buenos Aires Verde is a lot better than the good-for-you cafes I have in my home city. Among the decadent pleasures they have masquerading as health food - A passionfruit chia smoothie. When you are in Latin America, if you see passionfruit (maracuya or maracuja) on the menu, Just get whatever it is that they are selling. Maracuya is wonderfully good. Maracuya makes your whole day better. Maracuya makes the sun shine when it rains And your relationships renew if you are arguing. Maracuya solves all problems - at least for half an hour. Chocolate can't even remotely compete with maracuya. The maracuya chia smoothie I had was the perfect start for the perfect day. It was also one of the few ways you can get chia into Samuel C without Samuel C giving you a speech about about what a bad idea chia is. My wife had a tofu and egg scramble. Yeah, eggs like the kind that come from chickens. Maybe a plant laid the eggs, but I don't think so. It looked like one of the best scrambled egg dishes ever. If i wasn't in total bliss about my maracuya smoothie, I would have wanted those eggs for myself absolutely. Argentines like heavy sweet pastries with their breakfast. I had a chocolate covered raspberry chocolate cake. This was a health food restaurant So this meant that chocolate covered raspberry chocolate cake was good for me. My life was extended seven years because of that raspberry cake. The coffee is fine too. (Good coffee is not an automatic in Buenos Aires. There are a lot of famous establishments with absolutely terrible coffee.) * * * After Buenos Aires Verde, my wife and I were able to go out and conquer the world. Dessert was okay - raw chocolate cake. While we were waiting for our cake we decided to grab a bag of cashews to take to go - only my girlfriend noticed bugs in them so I kindly let the hostess know. She seemed grateful and proceeded to inspect all of the remaining bags and removed over half of the remaining cashew bags. However, when we were ready to leave she was extremely rude to us. We wanted to pay and no one was attending to us - she ran my card wrong several times and was also talking to someone else wanting to order. She was short when I handed her the same card back and I had to almost force her to run it again. It is too bad because we had fully planned on returning Saturday night but never again after our experience. Food looks good - nice veggie menu - but bugs, no thanks....

A delightful, intimate, Indian dinner in Palermo, Buenos Aires…read more For a truly delightful, intimate, Indian dinner I confidently suggest the ever-changing fixed-menu thali meals at Güngur (weekends) or the lunches (Monday through Thursday). Delightful, because each dish we tasted was flavorful, simple, and lovingly made. Intimate because there's a total of five tiny tables in a tiny space, nestled in-between the tiny kitchen, an airy dance studio space, and a charming clothing boutique, making a "little India" cultural space in a beautifully converted mansion. The clothing, the dance, and the food all intend to share the feeling of India, including classical traditional music and a modern mix named "India'n Beatles". The restaurant, which opened in August 2014, is a labor of love for chef Rabindra Nath Jana, who served us last night. Reservations are a must, and are sometimes available same-day. Five tiny tables means a limited seating. Vegetarian meals available. The lemonade we were handed after the menus was sweet and refreshing. The thali dinner consisted of an appetizer pollo (chicken) tikka marsala, mains of cordero (lamb) rogan josh and a biriyani, and a tasty, tasty dessert of rasmalai. (Hopefully we'll have the gulab jamun next time.) Remember what I said about limited seatings? One couple seemed to have arrived on the wrong day, and wouldn't take no for an answer. Once we realized this, my love and I prepared to vacate our table when the couple who properly reserved a spot arrived. The timing was perfect: the doorbell rang, we told the chef we'd take a pot of chai on the floor of the dance studio, and the just-arrived couple had a place for them to enjoy their thali dinner. An inexpensive meal, tasty and filling (and I'm not a small eater), a cozy setting, a bit of drama, and tasty chai enjoyed cross-legged on a dance studio floor. What's not to repeat?

"no" - it looked more like a trendy bar, and appended the moniker "Resto-Bar" to its name in its public image. I imagined mediocre fried "street food" snacks and colorful cocktails and loud music. But, on a recent evening, adrift for something different to do solo, I made a quick reservation and headed over. Now, some of what I imagined is true. Though, very little. You enter into a bar, packed with all sorts of trendy looking bottles and apparatus. The greeting is exactly what I expected - neither of the two bartenders nor manager even looked up from the computer screen they were intently engaged with - and, other than pausing to make a drink now and again, they stayed in the same position the entire evening. A hostess greeted me not with "good evening" but, "do you have a reservation?" I got the full look up and down while the asking was going on, and then the studied minute over her clipboard when I responded affirmatively, followed by an, "oh yes, I guess you do. come this way, perhaps that table over there in the far corner." I was dressed pretty, in pressed slacks and shirt. Far prettier than most of the people in the room, who tended towards shorts and t-shirts, but I don't tend towards 25-30 years old. But thankfully, that's about where the reality of my imaginings ended. A full menu of Thai dishes was presented, along with a cocktail list (moderately creative without being stupid about it), and a wine list. While I was perusing, a plate of puffed rice crackers and a decent sweet and sour dipping sauce was placed on the table. I relaxed. Excellent chicken satay, with the chicken beautifully grilled and still juicy, accompanied by a very mild peanut satay sauce, but an accompanying chili sauce that actually packed a wallop. Nice presentation, and a generous quantity for 380 pesos (just over $6). And likewise, both presentation and quantity of the prawn kung pad met mamuang, a mild stir fry of prawns, cashews, and vegetables, that was big enough that I only made it through about half, and then asked for the rest to go (680 pesos, or just over $11). Certainly tops the list of the dedicated Thai spots in town, and comes in a not too distant second to Cantina Sunae which covers a wider swath of the region. I will definitely be back.

While we waited outside with the rest of the crowd they gave us champagne and mini empanadas. So good. At 3:30 we were sat at a nice table in a small room with a few others. The ambience was quiet luxury in a rustic setting. No loud music (or any I think), just soft murmurs of conversation and the tinkling of cutlery kissing dishes. I felt like royalty. Before ordering they brought us endive with a delicious arugula pesto (sauce was amazing!!), yummy bread rolls and butter. For starters we ordered provoleta (grilled provolone) and for the entree ribeye and porterhouse with sides of salad greens and baby Brussel Sprouts. And a glass of house wine. My steak was the best porterhouse I've ever had. Period. It was huge, so tender, so delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. My mouth is watering as I write this. The ribeye was perfection! No wonder people come from all over the world to drop tons of money on a meal here. It is sooo worth it. The server kindly cut the bone off my steak and set it off to the side which made for an uncrowded eating experience. I check a couple weeks out for any night of the week and only was able to find outside tables online. I came here on a Wednesday night around 10:30 in hopes of getting it less busy than a weekend night. I only had to wait about 15 minutes and also got a free glass of champagne and a mini empanda. As I came in they offered me a tour of the wine cellar which was full of unique and old wines. They have a massive wine offering which I think is one of the things that helps them out on the Michelin guide. It's a classic steakhouse offering, probably best approached by sharing a few cuts with a table. But as I was here by myself I went for the tasting menu so I could try more things. They brought over some bread to start with chimichurri, as well as an odd amuse bouche of a single endive leaf with a pretty bland green sauce. The first course started off with a thinly slice of beef kinda like jerky meets prosciutto. Very flavorful and tender, loved it. Second course was a sausage that was incredibly juicy and exploding with flavor, one of the best sausages I've ever had. Then came a sweetbread course which I've never had before. It was very unctuous and rich, bit too heavy for my taste and sort of made me want to stop eating at this point. It came with a very basic salad with simple vinaigrette. The next two courses were a ribeye broken into two components, the eye and the rib cap. The eye came with another equally bland salad. The cap came with a table side preparation of a sweet potato which was honestly quite comical. Fine dining is known for beautiful table side prep, but scooping out the inside of a sweet potato and spooning over melted butter is amusingly basic. With no other seasoning here but salt it was again, very bland. Steak was fantastic and juicy, a bit on the rarer side than I would normally go for but I think this is never given the unique leaner quality of Argentine beef. Chimichurri was classic, oddly I was offered a spicy chimichurri half way through my meal which I preferred, unsure why it wasn't brought sooner. Bread courses were very standard, again nothing spectacular here. The sommelier helped me pick out a couple glasses of wine and was generally very helpful and attentive. The wine I had was solid but nothing crazy, elected for some of the cheaper choices since this was the most expensive meal I had in all of Argentina. Pumpkin ice cream was nice though oddly lacking in sweetness for a country that seems to take many things very sweet. Overall, this is such a classic and well known place that I felt it would be wrong not to check it out, yet I had heard there are better places at cheaper price points and I would now say that is very true. The beef quality here is fantastic and prepared well. Staff is attentive and helpful. But this really just doesn't present a fine dining experience as you might expect for a Michelin star. It feels like it fits more into the bib gourmand category. And at this price point it's really hard to feel like the price is justified. I dined at other places for way less including another Michelin star that was a true fine dining experience for a little over half the price. Much more courses with each element thoroughly thought out. The bland salads and side elements here don't detract away from the meat but they don't bring anything else to the table either. They feel like they exist to be a line item on a menu and nothing more. While I'm glad I got to try this place out, I likely wouldn't come back. There are less busy places with just as good of steaks for much lower the cost.
