Wanted Argentinian BBQ and this restaurant was near our hotel and had good reviews so we stopped in for lunch. Thank goodness for Goggle Translate, we were able to fully understand the menu and communicate with our waiter. The restaurant is very authentic and has an open grilling area for client viewing. Order ribs and the wife ordered chicken. The meals came with fries. Both meals were excellent. They accepted credit cards.
This place caught on fire the night I arrived in the city. Back open and in operation by my last night so I lucked out and was able to try it out. The establishment is grande and the meats on display via the pit. Perfectly cooked steaks, excellent sides however the service was lacking. So bad that I had to get up twice to flag my server. The city is full of steakhouses and this is one of the more pricier options. For the price, you can definitely get better and treated better. I shouldn't have to get up and chase down the server for anything, let alone twice.

So because we're Americans, we decided to show up at the latest time we could eat which is 8 pm. Place was empty lol! We did not get the memo lol. Anyway, we were seated right away and had no problem choosing our seat because it was super empty. 2 words here - meat sweats. That's right. All the meat sweats you can get. So much meat. My heart couldn't take it. But it was super delicious! We had Malbec paired with asado and honestly, I could die happy at this point. The price was cheap. This is why I loved Argentina, we could eat great cuts of steak for a fraction of the price compared to here in the States. Highly recommend this spot! It is in t bustling neighborhood so it's nice to explore after being in food coma!
Just a two minute walk from the Marriott, La Estancia Asador Criollo is a wonderful place to start any visit to Argentina! Don't sleep on the appetizers! The chorizo sausages, grilled cheese and oregano, and the empanadas were honestly just as amazing as the steak and chicken. The house wine is pleasant and the frites are just heaven in a bite. *Note for non-locals, the bill may be paid via credit card but the staff want the tip in cash only.

This is my second visit to La Estancia and had a great experience. I went around 8pm so it wasn't very busy. It's a very large place and can accommodate large groups. I ordered an empanada with a glass of Trumpeter Malbec. The wine was excellent and very reasonably priced. The empanada was crispy on the outside and the meat filling was piping hot and delicious. For my main, I order the filet with a side of French fries. I wasn't planning on the fries but I noticed that every table around me had a plate of fries, so I figured I should try them. Amazing! Crispy outer with pillowy soft potato center. The steak was cooked perfectly, and like many other parillas, they didn't season the meat at all. It was tender and flavorful but a little salt would have made it better. I used chimichuri to jazz it up a bit. I really enjoyed it. I do want to point out that they bring the meat out on a tray that has hot coals in it to keep the meat warm. However, I find that it continues to cook the meat beyond my desired doneness. So, pull the meat off the platter and onto your plate. Also, don't be in a hurry. Dinner is an experience and while ther service is exquisite, you have to ask for your bill and it will still take a while. Oh, and tip in cash!

We had the best Argentinian Ribs here tonight! The ribs were brought to us in a platter over some charcoal which keeps the meat hot! We had the ribs, grilled provolone cheese(I would not ordered this again, cause it was very salty and really not much taste), also ordered the salad(I was kinda worry about getting that) but when the waiter brought it out, it was huge, fresh and very tasty, it had greens, carrots, celery, tomatoes and beets! Great combination! When you cut into the ribs, the meat was so tender and melts in your mouth! If I was here longer, I would definitely come back for another meal! When we sat down, they brought us a basket of bread and empanadas! There's no extra charge for this!
Great dining experience while visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina area. Recommended by my tour guide. This is a very popular spot for tourist and locals. This location is was close to my hotel Panamericano down town. Our waiter was friendly, spoke English, and was on point the whole evening. Plenty of seating, but they quickly filled up. I started off with bread, salad & onion rings, be aware they give you huge portions. This place reminded me a farm to table kinda setting, food was plentiful sharing. The menu has a lot to offer, so take your time and choose accordingly to your appetite. Its a steak restaurant so they choices are abundant. All the food was well seasoned, make sure you tell the waiter well done. They cook all steaks medium well. I don't like blood dripping from my steak. All in all it was great experience, and a great way to start my dining in BA. The cost was reasonable considering the great food and service. They remind you that the tip isn't included, which was kinda weird but I totally get it...Im assuming some don't tip, but that's a individual decision.

I absolutely love this place. While many of my favorites have come and gone over the years, this one has stayed and continues to provide great steaks. While this place has been here since 1962, the first time I came was in 1993. I love it here because it is a classic, old-school restaurant, between the decor, the waiters and the grill as you walk in. The service has gone downhill a bit over the last couple of years, but I find that if you connect with your waiter when you finally get him to your table, he will check on you more often. They have a great wine list as well. The steaks are some of the best I have had, and I love that they bring your steak on a steel plate over a charcoal fire- do not let them take the grill- I love putting the fat on there to render away and then ladle it over my steak- so much better than butter! The fries are to die for, as is the Morcilla- so good and creamy- if you like that! I am usually too full for dessert, but I recently had their ice cream- so good and creamy! read more
La Estancia is a must stop when visiting BA. The staff is very accommodating and it is recommended to get reservations if going during normal busy times as this place is popular with tourists and gets crowded. When you come through the entrance you are visually stuck by a huge vertical grill that has various huge portions of meat being grilled. This huge grilling device is meant to wow you and it doesn't fail in that respect for sure. I ordered the bife de chorizo medium rare and it arrived to the table cooked perfectly. Enjoyed a Patagonia lager beer which is local to Argentina and it was great. Definitely the best brew I had in country. Overall this was a very good experience and I would certainly visit again when in the area. read more
This place is an institution in downtown Buenos Aires, this place has been here forever. It's not necessarily the best steak restaurant but it's a must to check off your Argentinian experience. I would say that food quality is the best of the mediocre restaurants in the area. read more

Solid parrilla choice in Buenos Aires. The parrilla platter for one is definitely enough to feed two and I had to take some back to my hotel for a snack. The parrilla contained some cuts I am not familiar with (I'm guessing sweetbreads) along with blood sausage which I am not a fan of. That said, there is plenty to be happy with and everything was well executed including the complimentary two empanada appetizer. The sauces for the meat showed up 10 or 15 minutes after the meat itself which doesn't seem unusual after reading other reviews though strange. Service was attentive and I got in and out pretty quickly, the way I like it. read more

The food was good and service was great. The place opens at 8pm and we got there around 9pm and already didn't have some of the menu items such as the T-bone steak. This place is kinda expensive. The beer was 9 USD and the food was like 19$ and apps were another 12$. They had a person come around to the tables to take pictures of you and it cost 300 ARGENTINA pesos if you wanted. There was no wait for our table but took awhile to receive the food. read more
The complimentary appetizers, sauces, empanadas, etc. were pretty tasty. Great wine selection. Server and host were very nice. Prices were great. Steak was cooked medium-well and I ordered medium rare. But had I liked my meat cooked that way, I may have liked it more. Food takes a while to come out, so plan for that. Lady next to me was complaining loudly in Spanish about the food and how long it took. read more

We had a great meal here, it was nice you can see them grill the meats from the outside. Really large dining room and you can see the smoke from the grill in the dining room. We ordered half order of sweet bread, an blood sausage, half order of baby goat & lamb. The sweet bread was flavored really well and the blood sausage was on a medium done so it was pink still, good thing it was serve over coal so we had a chance to cook it some more. The baby goat & lamb was cooked perfectly not too gamey and the chimichurri sauces they gave us pared well. It was however too much for our stomachs to handle so we had plenty left over to take back to our hotel for later. Our server spoke English well so it helped alot, even though we've used Google translate it was good to speak to someone. Will definitely want to return next time were here. read more

Amazing steak ! Loved it I was here for dinner! I choose a big steak ! Was very good ! Side dishes was also very tasty and enough for a a whole family :-) Staff very nice and helpful! Highly recommend this place for all of those they like Argentina steak! read more

I stopped by here with a group while walking around looking for a place to grab some food. I saw that this restaurant was jam packed on Saturday night and that was a good sign. The service here is a bit in the slow side. When we first came in they didn't bother to seat us until we walked further into the restaurant. We also had to wait quite a while when we asked for more sauce and for the bill. The food on the other hand is excellent! And that's what we came for. We ordered a barbecue platter called the Turistica. It costs about $50 USD and it supposed to serve 2 people. It included baby lamb, suckling pig, roast chicken and beef. It was amazing, the meats were cooked and seasoned very well. We had 8 people eating and could barely finish. Definitely come here if you are looking for good meat! read more

Absolutely love this place been coming here every year since 1996 everything is great from the suckling pig to the steaks to the blood sausage and don't forget the sweetbreads! The staff is just fantastic makes you feel at home ! They stay open late read more

Recommended by hotel staff, it was only 0.5 miles alway from where I was. I had a high expectations on the steak here in Argentina, so it was a little bit disappointing even though I gave 4 stars. I ordered medium cook, but I think it was a little bit overcooked instead. Overall, the food was alright. read more

Wonderful restaurant for great Argentinian meat of all kinds. I was first directed to this local by a local, very shortly after moving to this city. When I asked where the eating is good, he unhesitatingly named La Estancia. Not long afterwards I went, simply ordering bife de chorizo per his recommendation. It was fabulous, and ever since then, it has been the restaurant that comes to mind by default when I think of excellent dining on perfectly-prepared Argentinian meat. Although more pricey than many alternatives, La Estancia is more than worth it for its inviting atmosphere, personable service, and fabulous menu. The parrilla includes not only all the standards, but also many delightful options that are not readily found elsewhere. One experience that I've always remembered was my second or third time here, in which I ordered goat. I was shocked. Along with the chimichurri and the glass wine that accompanied my meal, it provoked a peak moment of flavor euphoria that I had never experienced in my life. read more
