We spent $48,000 on a new kitchen, quartz counter top and 4 bathrooms. Desiree was great to work with but we did encounter some frustrating set backs. We selected some remnants quartz counter tops for the bathrooms which was sold after we put our name on the counter tops. The quartz counter tops in the kitchen did not match in color. They did replace on their dime. ($15k) The cabinet over the microwave was too short making the bottom of the microwave 5 ft off the ground. We were told that was code. I checked and code allows 19 inches above electric stove top to the bottom of the microwave and 18 inches for gas. We were 27 inches from electric stove top to the bottom of the microwave oven. We paid another $440 to have above the microwave cabinet replaced with a taller cabinet and it looks nice. Our frustration was Chris and Dicks provided us a $220 Home Depot gift cards to off set the extra cost for the cabinet and on Black Friday we went to make some purchases and surprise the card was empty. I called Desiree and she was very helpful but no response from upper management. Would we go through Chris and Dicks again? No. The cabinets are good but too many mistakes and upper management is non responsive. Desiree needs to look elsewhere for work. she is too good to work for a company that can't get their stuff together. read more

I'm a rookie. A novice. I mean, how many of us are pros at kitchen remodeling? Hopefully it's not something you're doing every month. That could get pricey. Wanna' know how I know that? Because doing it once is pricey enough. In search of the perfect.. well.. everything, we stopped in here to look at countertops. And countertops they got. From the formica to the really spendy stuff, the natural to the manmade, it's all here. And in every color--or at least a sample of that color--that you could imagine. Go down to the color room and you'll see what I mean. It's beautiful and overwhelming at the same time. Wanna know what the very best part about Chris & Dick's is? It's those samples. Not every kind or every color is available, but many are. You want a sample of Sanded Gold Dust in Staron? Grab a little square. That way you can hold it up against the cabinet sample. And paint chip. And tile sample. It's dizzying, but made a bit more bearable by the pros here. Everyone was super friendly, even the kind lady who endured my questions about their latest kitchen cabinet/appliance/built-in genius, the integrated coffee maker. Now, I'm not a coffee guy, but the thought of being able to de-clutter your countertop by creating a coffee maker that's part of the cabinetry was fascinating to me. We've already purchased cabinets, so I can't comment much on that part. Oh, there's plenty of them. And quite the showroom to display lots of ideas. Terrible company, go to this place at your own risk. We had our countertops installed by them in May 2014, October 2014 we noticed a seam was starting to raise so we contacted them about it. It is now March 2015 and Dick (the owner) refuses to send anyone over to look at it. This is after countless phone calls (none returned) and emails (none returned). We know that he got them because when we actually catch him to talk to him, he says he got them. Now he's saying he's going to charge for the material to replace - WITHOUT EVER HAVING STEPPED FOOT IN MY HOUSE TO LOOK AT IT. I hate leaving negative reviews but i've had such a terrible experience with this company I feel it's an injustice to not say something. Katherine was my sales person and I started my kitchen and 3 bathroom sinks project in the summer of 2020. From the beginning she was unprepared and irresponsible. She mismeasured several spaces, didn't know the questions I asked her about product availability/prices, mis ordered product, and wouldn't communicate with me for days/weeks/months (my project is still ongoing in feb 2021 and she refuses to answer any of my texts/emails). There's been dozens of mis scheduled appts, canceled installations, mis orders etc. It's ridiculous. I don't know how this company is still in business. read more

Really bad experience with this company. They did the cabinetry in the new DR Horton home we purchased. Not only did they use the cheapest materials one could possibly imagine, they did really shoddy work. Nail heads sticking out in several places. A side of a cabinet peeling off in the bathroom. Getting a response was like pulling teeth. They sent workers out four times and the problems still haven't been completely resolved. read more

Bought two cabinets from them, two cabinets exactly the same just bought them about 2 months apart. Both times we were told they would call us when the cabinet came in but after a long wait we ended up calling them to find out it was ready and waiting for pick-up. One of the cabinets had the corners slightly mushroomed and smashed. Basically it appeared the cabinet box was handled roughly or dropped causing the corners to deform. I didn't notice this until I had already unpacked the cabinet from the box and it was fairly minor so I decided against returning it. Aside from a bit of a wait and some minor deformed corners we really like these cabinets. read more

Jim, just a word of thanks. Chris, the installer, did a very fine job. He's a craftsman! No doubt Brian, the laser template guy, and the people who cut and polished the stone, are equally skilled, because the end result is about as perfect as we could have hoped. The two seams on the horizontal surface in the kitchen are invisible...unless you know where to look. And I was particularly impressed by the part-curved, part straight seam. I'd never seen that before. I can't feel the slightest height variation between the slabs at either seam. You all did great work. As I wrote before, I appreciated your willingness to help us save money on the brackets. While granite countertops are expensive, Chris and Dicks made them worth the price. Thanks again. Started in early spring with a remodel, ordered cabinets and was told it would be 4 weeks, they don't build their own cabinets. Received order in 4 weeks, same with counter top, was measured ordered and installed in timely manner. Ordered a large storage cabinet for a corner unit, was told 4 weeks again, went to pickup order, NOT ready! Salesman blamed front office and said order was just placed and it will be another 4 weeks? The biggest problem is only the salesman you deal with can place and confirm orders, nobody else can review or modify orders, so this will be my LAST order with this company. This has been the most amazing experience I have ever encountered with home renovations!! I went into their showroom, after visiting many others across the valley, and I was amazed. Then I met the master interior designer, Jon, responsible for the showroom creations and feel in love with his vision, his expertise and his incredibly awesome customer service-a rarity to find such a combination in this day and age. After I explained ideas for my future kitchen, Jon used his creativity and imagination to bring together everything I wanted and everything else I thought I couldn't have. After seeing the design, which was leaps and bounds more elegant and functional then the previous 5 designers I had consulted with from other companies, I assumed it would be out of my price range.....I was pleasantly surprised!! The estimate was far below other companies and with a much more beautiful design!! An example....I told Jon I needed an island....Jon said "how about I give you two of them?" Heaven!!!! In addition, my amazing, more complex kitchen was completed in 10 weeks! (Every other company quoted me 16-20 weeks). So now my project is complete!! In the exact time I was promised!! I sit in my beautiful masterpiece of a kitchen, writing this review and excited to start another project with Chris & Dicks. I have a Pottery Barn kitchen for an RC Willey price!! Our experience with Chris and Dicks' deserves zero stars and a red flag. We recently remodeled two bathrooms, and this company was sub-contracted by Lifespan (another zero star/red flag outfit). There seemed to be no communication between these two companies and the result was bad measurements, and cabinets that needed to be redone, further slowing down a painfully long remodel. The biggest problem we had with Chris and Dicks' was with the quartz countertops. They took the measurements but passed the rest of the work onto a company called MAK Construction. Again, communication between the two was minimal, because every detail that we explicitly requested was carefully notated by the template maker but never reached the people doing the fabrication and installation. On the last visit from the countertop installer, he again took detailed notes about the parts of the work that were unfinished. We made the mistake of making the final payment to Chris and Dick before these problems were corrected. More than a month later, it is obvious that neither of these companies has any intention of returning to complete the work that we payed for. Lifespan, and by extension Chris and Dick, were chosen based on a recommendation by Home Advisor, which is either a strictly pay-to-play racket or they haven't bothered to do their research, or even read the online reviews of the companies they recommend. In any case, their recommendations, in our experience, were a complete bust. Buyer beware. read more

I have worked with Jolene on multiple high end projects in salt lake as well as park city. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a background in design. She's not afraid to give you her opinion or think outside the box. Chris and Dicks being one stop shop has been perfect for my needs. Their install team is great! They even went above and beyond to do a few extra things for me.Jolene was able to direct me to different appliance companies as well as a carpet company so I didn't have to shop around. I was hoping for an easy and helpful experience...but instead my small apartment remodel turned into a joke...I order 4 cabinets...they arrived in their shop but no one bothered calling to set up install...I called and got on their schedule...first guy came over and installed and left...it all looked good but when I went to put the range back in it would not fit...cabinets installed incorrectly...called them...they sent a different guy...he tried to force in the range...did not work...got a 3rd guy in and this guy knew what he was doing...had to remove all cabinets and start again...put them in the right way but we ended up with funny corner and damaged cabinet...I called and said I want the install cost refunded and got it... They have the potential to be great but there are some employees in the store who just phone it in...not really interested in small jobs and/or top notch customer service... Beware. read more

If I could give this company a negative 5 stars, I would do so. The sales rep used bait and switch tactics on her initial proposal and then when we went to choose our colors, she raised the price from $1,500 to $2,500 on fees and install charges not included in the initial proposal. My wife and I left very frustrated and disappointed. We asked the owner to call us to discuss our frustrations, but he never did. I guess they don't want our business. This had been the worst experience I have ever had in all my experience with home improvement. From the time we walked in and asked the receptionist for help we were treated like a huge waste of their time. The salesman especially was an absolute jerk. When I told him we wanted to paint our existing cabinets to save money until we can replace them he flat out refused to help us and told us we should go home and google it instead. We have to replace all the cabinets our house someday soon. And when we do, these people will definitely not be getting our business. read more

My daughter and I never thought We would end up in west valley to get her kitchen remodeled but after a bad experience with a box box retailer we decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. Our experience from beginning to end was professional, and our designer Jolene was very attentive to my daughters needs which was great because this was her first remodel. We bought cabinets and counter tops from these folks. Terry is a great salesman full of great ideas and many promises. However, we feel like his statements were not always exactly right. He said that custom cabinets almost don't exist, and very expensive. After we had the C&D cabinets installed and found them to be way less quality then represented, we got some competing bids. (I know, we made a mistake) We found some better cabinets for less money. C&D also charges for delivery and installing, where our custom building did not. C&D failed in the installation schedule, and we never did get the counter tops as we cancelled them because the back splash was not installed on time as represented, putting our whole remodel schedule back, AND because we didn't like the cabinets that were poor quality and had a lot LESS room in them than was represented. But they will not refund our deposit on the counter tops even they were were never made or delivered. In the purchase process, Terry's general response usually was, "don't worry, their great. You'll like them!" Well the new cabinets are NOT great and we don't like them. Now they are refusing to talk to us, make any adjustments, or help us be satisfied in any way. AND, the require payment in full in advance of delivery, and said that was standard in the industry, which we also found out is NOT true. Our replacement cabinets were installed with a smaller deposit, and last payment not due until we were satisfied. I think the number one review by Jeffery S is from an employee of the business, or was probably written by them. I would suggest that you get competitive bids and don't be so trusting if you decide to deal with them. read more

I went in to discuss cabinets for a full kitchen remodel, I was told a lead based paint test on the old cabinets (due to their age and potential for lead) would cost $800. I called and spoke with a manager and asked him, in general, what a lead-based paint test should cost. He would not tell me, he instead asked 'well, what did [representative's name] tell you? The manager would not address the matter with me, he had to get his story right with the sales rep first. We went to Chris & Dick's to look at cabinets for a mudroom/washroom remodel. During the decision making and purchasing process things went well, we were pleased with what we saw and finalized our decision. When the cabinets were installed I noticed the two top drawers in the base cabinet did not line up with the two cabinet doors directly below them. The installer also noticed and mentioned to me that it didn't look right. When I brought this to the attention of the designer who helped us, rather than giving me options to correct it I was told that the cabinets come standard that way and no solution to correct was offered. My installer has been in the business for over 40 years and has not seen this type of odd looking cabinet construction so I mentioned this to the designer and asked if new drawer faces that matched up with the doors could be ordered. A switch flipped, and she fired off emails to me that were not only unprofessional but were inaccurate and something I would expect from a 14 year old. At that point I spoke with a sales manager and asked if they would pay for the cost of me having drawer faces that matched up with the door made and finished locally, the answer was no. He also told me that all lines that they carry design their cabinets that way, very surprising!.. Long story short, if you appreciate good customer service as well as good follow up service after installation is complete, go somewhere else. I wish I did. read more
