Love this place. I do my own hair and this is where I go for all my supplies. What I recommend is that when you get there let them know just what you're looking for and they will get it for you. It will save you so much time and the aisles are really narrow. Sometimes things fall! But if you just tell them what you're looking for they will find it for you quickly. read more

This place has a lot of selections for hair but the colors are all natural. The staff is very helpful. The store was not very organized so it was a bit hard to actually see what all they do have. You just have to know what type of hair or style so they can show you some selections. I end up get soft Locs crotchet black and burgundy about 6 packs which has 20 locs in each pack. I took pics because the state of this joint is unreal. I asked for help and got it. The Rasta-Afri hair I needed for my Senegalese twists was $2.99/per bag. They had color #3 which was amazing! My hair isn't quite a #2 and #4 is too reddish/light, so I've always had to choose between the two or get both and have my braider mix them in. I was pretty set in what I wanted. I wanted jet black 18-20" extensions. The problem was which brand to get. I went to Sally's next door and they ran about $120-$140 for a set. I went right next door, Nu Hair, to this Chinese hair store. Lots and lots hair from ceiling to floor and stacked on boxes in between the aisles. I looked around and was overwhelmed but how much different kinds of hair there was. I just walked up to the register and the nice lady helped me out and made a perfect recommendation. I said I want good quality, clip-in hair extensions in very dark jet black. I got exactly that. She recommended the Secret Sepia brand in 18" and it came out to 99.99 bucks before taxes. The other lady said, "You like cah (She was trying to say car)? This like Mercedes Benz." Lol I was sold when I felt it. Fairly priced considering really fancy ones can go for up to $200+. But I am a newbie and am more than pleased with my first set. They are beautiful and soft and I AM in LOOOOVE with my new extensions. I think I am newly obsessed with hair extensions now. The nice lady at the register got me exact tint I wanted to buy. The shop is packed with high-quality products and I'd like to spend an hour looking at everything. This is in a small (strip) shopping center so you won't see the address for Nu-hair. It's tucked into a corner. The private lot has plenty of parking. Sally's Beauty is a few doors down. I went there to see if they had a bigger selection for tints. They DO carry additional brands, at Sally's. But the clerk at Sally's told me customers come in all the time requesting the brand I got at Nu-Hair. Sally's doesn't sell that brand, but apparently, Nu-Hair carries good quality products. So nice people, great selection and good prices make this a YES! read more

It's impossible to move around in this store and make a coherent decision without feeling overwhelmed. This store is geared more towards hair extensions, there were very minimal hair supplies. So if youre looking for shampoo, hair dye, hair gel etc. Dont waste your time coming here. As soon as i walked in the door I was greeted by a lady, who simply inquired "What are you looking for" good thing she did because I never would've found it in my own. They have most the brands and things you would look for at a beauty supply but the prices are upcharged. For example the la girl concealer is 3.99! That's the highest I've ever seen it. I mentioned it cheaper elsewhere he didn't care. So please take that back. They can keep it for that price. Eyelashes are a dollar more than most beauty supplies. I didn't feel like finding other locations where they are at most 1.99 for the lashes in the white box (cherry blossom brand) they charge $2 and something for a set. My biggest upset was the tax here. He told me tax was $3 and some change. Are you kidding me. $3 on a 38 dollar purchase?! So what 10 percent of my total. Is this normal? Not wanting to create hassle I just paid for the stuff I wanted to keep and left. I won't be visiting this location again. What kind of circus they are running but it's expensive. I first found out about this store when I moved to Castro Valley and was tired of commuting all the way to San Francisco Fillmore Beauty Supply to get hair. This place is located in a nice decent plaza, near Sally's Beauty Supply and Rent-A Center. Parking is never bad when I come, I usually get a park right in front of the store. This place is owned by Chinese and at first when I came I used to stay giving them attitude because as soon as you walk in they stare at you and watch your EVERY move! Ugh that BOTHERED me! WTF excuse me sir I just came to see what your store has to offer I don't want to steal from you so don't trip! After a while of coming here they started to ease up a little. I was desperate to find a good person to do my hair and the owner here was nice to give me a salon close by my house and recommended her to me. I have to admit she is amazing and I have been going to her every since. I have to admit with other yelpers and say don't be surprised walking in here because YES! Hair is everywhere!! Its cluttered but I like it because it gives me a lot of choices to choose from. I have noticed that their hair is expensive from most stores and online. I usually come here and find some hair that I want and then do research and buy it online. I ONLY buy hair here if its VERY needed. If not I go online and can get it $40-$80 cheaper. There's literally hair everywhere. I went with my cousin to buy her hair extensions while I waited. The owners are pretty nice and we had a good conversation. They were pretty funny and making jokes even though I wasn't their exact customer demographic haha. They also helped out my cousin choose what fits on her hair. I don't know much stuff about these hair extensions and beauty stuff but from a customer's perspective they were really helpful. We went a 2nd time a few weeks later and to my surprise they even remembered us which is good. They have so much stuff that its all over the place but if you need anything just ask them. This place is too pack rattish. They literally follow you around the store like you're gonna steal. Don't want you touching the product that is NOT BEHIND THE COUNTER. They rather pick your items up for you. It's just overall uncomfortable, very filthy, pact rattish in the store. All that merchandise and no deals to get rid of it. I love this place. The quality of hair and the range of prices are great. You can get really good quality hair that you can dye and put heat on for a reasonable price compared to other places. I always come here when I want to make clip on extension. I like to make clip on extensions to change my hair look without damaging my hair. read more
