Chris was superb for my engagement/wedding photos! I highly recommend him for any event you need a photographer for. My husband does NOT like taking photos, and even told Chris throughout both shoots "this is stupid" and Chris just went with it, trying to keep him distracted even though he was borderline having a tantrum. I was amazed at how many great shots he got, since my husband was just not cooperating at all. If you're dealing with anti-photo people, you found the right guy. Chris was great about incorporating photos I asked for, and staging us to take photos I didn't think of. But they all looked great! The wedding photos were perfect because I know every single guest was photographed, and he got tons of great candids of the family. Including two hyper four year olds! He also took a bunch of those "decor" photos I'm going to want to remember - but without me even noticing, until I got my disks. We even requested to have our puppies in the pictures and it turned out to be some great shots. For our wedding, he was very good in directing our wedding party of 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen into getting us to where we needed to be for the best shots which is pretty hard with that many people. One star and I'm still very upset with how I was pawned off! After hours and hours of looking at different photographs work I finally fell in love with Chris Chavira's work and immediately booked him! Yes assuming I BOOKED HIM!!! NOPE CHRIS DOSNT TELL ME TILL THE DAY BEFORE THAT HE IS NOT GOING TO BE THE PHOTOGRAPHER AT MY EVENT!!!!! The 2 ladies that showed up were super friendly and super nice so that is far from my complaint. They were just not the same style and quality that I had researched and was expecting for the price I was paying!!!!! My package said it came with an Album and it's been 10 months and I still have not received an "Album" unless he considers that small cardboard card thing he taped the thumb drive too an "album" but that would be ridiculous! Update. Hires Chris for my mom's mother's day picture great job, hired Chris for my engagement photo great job. Now here come my wedding. OMG. With my package it included my engagement photos that we were going to use at as my sign in book for guest. My photos were were ready 2 months before my wedding. About 4 weeks before my wedding my wedding planned asked about the sign in book. We got in contact with Chris and I picked out the photos he said it was a week turn around and he would be out of town for a week no worries. I approved which photos I wanted. The week of my wedding they still were here. My wedding planner called for him to fix it. Chris and my wedding planner got into it. Mind you my wedding planner deals with celebrities, so she knows how to handle business. Chris got upset and sent me a email the day before my wedding saying he would not work with her and called my husband as well. Chris stated he only deals with the bride. I left this issue up to my planner because that is her job to handle the vendors. The day of my wedding is here and I'm just got married and taking pictures. Chris told me get all my family together and said where are your grandparents I was like they aren't here. And after going back in forth with him, I'm like their are dead. Dude. We take the picture my wedding planner asked do you have a time for me so the bride and groom can do a first look in the reception? He got mad with her again. I said to him Chris that was pretty aggressive. We are now caking the cake and since the cake was fake it was a side we needed to cut on. Omg and once again. He got into it was my wedding planner. She kept her cool the whole time. I even had the venue attention speak on his behavior. After the wedding Chris and my mom had a agreement about seeing the photos first. No problem. And we still needed to do the final payment. No worries he text me while on my honeymoon and I told I will speak with my mom when I get back. I text him every-time he text me. And the ONE time I missed his text because I was at work, which was about another week. I received a nasty message saying I'm going to TRASH ALL YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS. Wait what. Since my parents paid for my wedding my mom stepped in. And OMG Chris was talking crazy to my mother. After a few month. He finally got paid; only for him to block me when I wanted to ask a question about my package. I mean I'm still the client. Honestly he does beautiful work but his attitude! He was very difficult. Mind you I saw him back in 2014 and was soo impressed by his work and him and hired him for other work and never saw that coming with my wedding in 2017. And I had more work for him afterwards because people asked do you know a photographer yup but NOT him. read more

I would like to take a few moments to share our impression of Chris Chavira and his photography. Amy and I met Chris some time ago when she twisted my arm and "Drug me" to a wedding convention seminar-type symposium in Orange County, California. This was not something I was thrilled about but I knew that it was one of those times in life where I put my pseudo-manliness aside and did what most guys don't enjoy doing....meeting and greeting travel agents, chefs, caterers, musicians and all things related to celebrating a wedding. Basically, this event was as far from "Manly" as one could get. After wandering around, signing guest lists, picking up business cards and listening to sales pitches from a number of different representatives, Amy and I walked into an office and were greeted by a gentleman named Chris. He was a photographer similar to the others we had already met. But there was something different about "This guy." Not only did he have the same name as my son, he was hip! I liked him! I knew from the moment we met that I would like to have him work with us! I told Amy after the event that no matter what we felt about the other vendors, I KNEW I wanted Chris to be our photographer! He was polite and sincere and genuinely excited about the type of work he does. We both agreed and couldn't wait to move forward with him. Approximately one year later, Amy and I had set a wedding date and she began putting things into motion. We made arrangements for our engagement photo shoot with Chris and left the location up to him. Chris suggested we meet him in Huntington Beach as he had some ideas for our photo shoot. Amy and I had a few ideas of shots we wanted to capture but we agreed to leave the rest up to Chris. We are glad we did and we couldn't be happier with how our day went. Neither Amy nor I enjoy being photographed, but Chris worked his magic and helped us relax in front of the lens. Some of the poses felt a little bit awkward for us, but as the day went on, things became more comfortable. We simply tried to relax and do what Chris suggested and after spending a few hours together, Chris wrapped things up! We had a wonderful day that I'm sure none of us will ever forget! Chris confirmed our wedding date as we said our goodbyes. A few days later, Chris sent us the link for the images from our engagement photo shoot. Not only were Amy and I amazed at the sheer number of images that Chris captured; we were impressed with how well the images turned out! To say we were excited was an understatement! We hired Chris pretty late in the wedding planning stages, but from the beginning he has been super patient and understanding of our crazy/busy schedules. He has always remained extremely professional, enthusiastic and accommodating! I met Chris at the LA Bride World Expo last month. I signed up for the free Engagement shoot giveaway that he offered. About a week later I recived an email from Chirs letting me know that I was the lucky winner. I was super excited but mistakenly added the shoot to my calander on the wrong date. I missed the shoot but I never heard from him before our picture date or after so I emailed him. I emailed him wondering if he would still be willing to do the complementary shoot that he had offer us. When he called me, he asked if I had a photographer already and I said I did. Which he new from our original conversation. Then he asked why didnt I have my photographer take our pictures and I mentioned that had but was intrested in the pictures he was going to take for us. All of the sudden Chris got nasty and rude. I told him I was only calling to inquire about taking the pictures and understood if he couldnt do them. I didnt want him taking pictures for us out of pitty or be upset while taking the pix. Well he refused to take our "complimentary engagement pix". I'm glad it turned out that way since his attitude was aweful. Not once did he mention that he would only take our pictures if we didnt have a photographer.
