The minimum for a savings account without a monthly fee is $300. The minimum for a checking account without a monthly fee is $1500. The credit card has a $39 monthly fee for the first year. The banker insisted on automatic savings deposits. I spent about an hour opening a checking account. It seems absurd. In order to deposit into my account right then and there, I had to either wait again in line or "go outside to the atm." Not a very pleasant experience, Bank of America.
