Bill, was hired to repair my stucco for an exterior wall due to plumbers making holes to try and…read morefix a leak. In the beginning he said he would try and match the exterior wall but knew it wasn't going to match completely. I hired him cause I felt he was confident in his job. He took two days to fix the holes. The patch is completely bad. It's not even flush to wall but looks indented. The following day I pressed to check how firm the patch is and it gives, which to me shows that'll it probably crack over time. I am now going to have to find another person to repair it the way it should be which will cost me more money. I also had to use a metal spatula to remove hardened plaster from my walkway and had to broom all the dust and chipped stucco from the work area.

We were initially really excited to start with with Steve Johnson painting after meeting with 4 different painters (his estimate was significantly cheaper than everyone else). But after he got defensive when we pointed out a few spots where the lines looked sloppy or were bleeding onto the baseboards, we were definitely taken aback. Ultimately, despite the cheap price it was that defensiveness and lack of willingness to fix mistakes that turned us off.

Steve had set an appointment with me for between 1-1:30, earlier that morning. I arrived to my house at 1:10. After waiting for just over 35 minutes, I call Steve to see if he is still coming, but no answer. I then text him asking the same question. He responds, saying he was there "lil after 1:00", but had other appointments, so he had to go. The curious part to me, was why didn't Steve call me, or knock on the door, after I told him someone was there to let him in? I decided to ask Steve, he responds with "left card on door, only needed answer door. My guess you were late." So I check the door, but no card. After, I sent him a picture of my front door with no card, Steve never responds. My guess, Steve, is that you went to the wrong house, and rather than own up to your honest mistake, you chose to put it on me. You also easily had the opportunity to cancel our appointment rather than try and jam it in to your schedule. Was your plan to knock this appointment out in less than 5 minutes? Definitely dodged a bullet here. I would never want to work with someone who doesn't have the wherewithal to easily communicate with someone to coordinate a simple appointment. I can't imagine how he communicates during and after a job if something needs to be taken care. Good luck to those who dare take the ride, but my guess is there is better quality out there at a similar price.

I couldn't get the ceiling to the smooth finish I was hoping for, so I reached out to Saul. He completed it over the course of 3 days with one visit each day and the finished product turned out amazing! This company is run by the man of the same name and he is a true old-school professional. When I hire any kind of contractor, I usually go with my gut feeling during and after the interview. Do they show up on time? Is their vehicle in good condition? Are they polite? Check, check, check. Do they ask pertinent questions while they are there? Do they get the estimate to you in a timely manner? Are their prices reasonable? Check, check, check. I got a good vibe from him right from the start, but the best was yet to come. Deciding to go with Bob was one of the best decisions i've ever made (marrying my wife is still tops!) He and his helper Jose showed up every day right at 8:00 AM sharp and got straight to work. To say that they work quickly and efficiently would be a gross understatement. They have a great system and work like the proverbial well-oiled machine. At the end of every day, they cleaned up after themselves and stacked the ladders neatly off to the side. No half empty paint cans. Not one speck of trash. The only way you know that they were there was that the prep work was done and/or there was new paint on some part of the house. Do you see a pattern here? Total pros who take pride in their work. They work the way they do because that's how it SHOULD be done. That kind of work ethic is sadly very rare these days. And I cannot say enough about the QUALITY of the work.
