The food was really good, we had two burgers and they were very homemade tasting vs just something that came out of a freezer. Buns and pickles seemed homemade also. The service was a little slow but they were very attentive to us at the same time, it just took a while to get our food. We were there rodeo weekend so not sure if that contributed to it thought it didn't seem overly busy when we were there. Was shocked we had two meals for under $40 which is practically unheard of these days it seems. Would recommend. read more

Driving by this town in search of lunch. Obviously family ran with workers running around constantly. Can get busy and takes a while to get your food. However ppl are super friendly and nice. Got an omelette which isn't anything special. Soup is nothing to write home about. My mom got their miners burger with patty and she said it was very yummy and filling. Seems like their fries is a fan favorite, almost everyone had a big plate. It was hearty and tasty. You can season as you wish. Considering limited food options out there it was a decent meal, and I will be more generous than would be if this is in a big city. read more

Chris's Diner is one of those places we always visit when we are in the Pass. Located on main street Coleman you will find it is quaint and a venue that is a bit of a throw back to the past. Which is, of course, appropriate for the area. Home made food, excellent breakfast and indeed the largest pancakes I have ever experienced keep me coming back. The men's room is in need of a bit of attention, but the recent painting and outside repairs may be an indication that these other areas will soon get a bit more attention too. read more

Eggs. Meat. Pancakes. A generous diner breakfast. There's a subtle distinction between locals and outsiders in the Crowsnest Pass. Not adversarial; everyone I've met in the Pass have been friendly and open. It's just that locals tend to hang together and new comers tend to hang together. Chris's is a local hangout and Coleman locals know a good thing when they see one. Or maybe through their patronship, they know how to create a good thing. This is a small town diner at it's best. Chris's has kept up with the times but faithful to its diner roots. Breakfast isn't overwhelmingly greasy. Eggs, toast, and bacon come with fruit. The coffee is decent. The restaurant is clean. Service is friendly and engaging. But nothing on the menu is organic. No free range eggs. No gluten free bread. No fancy breakfast drinks. And this is all fine by me! At 9 in the morning Chris's is probably full. And loud. Customers meet here and talk and laugh and yell through the window at friends walking by. Rather than annoying, this makes for a fun atmosphere. Perhaps because of this atmosphere, the service is great. There are a number of good places for breakfast in Crowsnest Pass. Stone's Throw has my favorite breakfast. But Chris's is my favorite place. read more

It's always great to experience local establishments and this did not disappoint. It's not too often you find a small town diner with great food and friendly patrons. Limited seating and the place was packed by 915am on a Sunday morning. Our family of six has to split up and sit at two different tables, which wasn't a bad thing. Very basic menu, eggs, pancakes, toast. Busy place, took awhile for food to be delivered but they kept refilling our coffee cups so we were happy! Warning: the pancakes are huge. Even our 14 yr old son with ravenous appetite couldn't finish. You must check it out, a nice change from chain restaurants. Our 12 yr old said she felt like she was in an episode of Gilmore Girls - very quaint small town diner, good food, moderate prices. read more

OMG - I think I rolled out of here I ate so much!!! There must have been 5 ladies working away in the kitchen and they never stopped the whole time I was there. I went for the cabbage roll special and it was fabulous. It came with soup or salad to start and I went for the turkey rice soup - it was delicious! Then came the platter of cabbage rolls, baked potato, veggies, and garlic toast. Just to make sure I was completely stuffed I went for a milkshake - the straw stood straight up the whole time! I just couldn't do dessert but there was lots to choose from. A truly delightful diner in Coleman that had lots of character including the old fashioned sit-up counter. Looking for dinner options and they offered great dinner meals including soup/salad, garlic bread, hot option and dessert for under $20. We got hot turkey and roast beef and the portions are so generous there was plenty leftovers for breakfast the next day. A slice of Canadiana in small town AB did not disappoint! This is a good place to go for homemade comfort food. Simple but very good dinner. Burgers were tops. Roast beef dinner tasty great baked potato and great friendly service. For breakfast We heard you need to get there early or call ahead. The town of Coleman, where the restaurant is located, is worth a visit alone if you are into towns that time forgot. read more

Highly recommended by a local relative this place was great! It was packed for lunch and the small kitchen meant a bit of a wait but the food was outstanding. The cheese omelette was huge but perfectly cooked. The side of hash browns was also done to perfection. The server was run off her feet but kept us posted on the progress of our order. An absolute hidden jewel of the Rockies. This may change our future travel plans to ensure we get at least one meal here on the way through the mountains. read more
