If we drive through here again I would definitely eat at the Cafe JAX , yum ! Great food and service.

I had gone here for years and it's changed a lot. The service was decent but the food portions are smaller than I remember and the prices are quite a bit higher. The small order of biscuits and gravy should have come with more gravy, it was very sad looking. The crab Benedict was tasty and the perfect portion. The other breakfast plate we ordered the full Jax biscuits and gravy was also disappointing. It says bacon or sausage and my husband asked for both (this is an extra charge of course and we understand that) but they gave us one sausage link. I wish I was joking but I don't know how anyone can charge extra and give you one link so I took a photo to share. After years of coming here, I think this will be our last visit. My aunt tried to warn me but I insisted because of our good memories. read more

We ordered for takeout, the service was amazing, the gal on the phone was SO nice, the order was RIGHT (doesn't seem like a lot but it is around here..) they gave a plentiful amount of extra sauces as requested & they tried to make our order cheaper for us by grouping things together 10/10 recommend! read more

This is a great find. Food was out quick for a weekend late breakfast. Even with it busy the service is extremely attentive and heartwarmingly polite. Staff know the regulars. Mr. Phil and his friend could be heard talking optics. There is a great view of the range right out the front window. No complaints whatsoever. read more

The best breakfast I have had in years. The sourdough toast was amazing. The homemade jam was perfect. They prepared all the food - hash browns, bacon, omelette, pancake an eggs Benedict to perfection. The service was friendly, prompt and everyone was helpful. This place used to be the best breakfast place in town. Not so much any more. Prices are high and portion size have decreased substantially. They used to serve the food on large oval plates now on standard round plates and there is still room to spare. Flavor is also lacking. Add to that the new owner is a bit of a jerk who acts like he's doing you a favor by taking your order and money. We really miss the "old" Cafe Jax! read more

We've been here a few times and always have had a great meal. On the weekend it can be super crowded for breakfast but worth the wait. This last visit was a Tuesday morning and it was a scarce crowd. Waitress was super friendly and brought us over two big mugs of coffee. Good coffee is always a plus. Husband had there biscuits and gravy that was hash browns, sausage and eggs with the side of biscuits and gravy. He said it was delicious and I opted for the kids plate of French toast and sausage that was very good too. When passing through or if you live around here don't pass it up. read more

This café wants to be a warm 50s-inspired small town must-visit, but what you get is a regrettable meal at an exorbitant price. On both visits, I found the food mediocre (milkshakes, "Cajun" eggs Benedict, and crab cake eggs Benedict) and, like most things in this area, overpriced. The portions are large, but the food itself is just not well-made. The service is acceptable, but on both occasions, I got the feeling that the staff was frenzied and frazzled. Wow first time in Eureka and we pulled in to Jax after a 4.5 car ride with no coffee. Immediately on setting us the waitress poured steaming mugs of coffee and a dish of freshly baked mini muffins. For breakfast the bacon was PERFECT and the homemade jam was stunning. This is a cute little dinner that has been around for a good period of time. Everything was clean, and dusted making it bright and welcoming. We'll definitely be back on our next trip through. read more

I am giving Cafe Jax two stars because the food was great and the service was wonderful. I'm knocking them for their absolutely inappropriate and totally bizarre writing on their menu. There is a large part that includes something to the extent of "how things were if you were born before 1945" and it continues to list how different (i.e. better) things were for people who were born in that time period. One of them cites that there were no sex changes for them, they "made do what what they got". Why on EARTH would you need to include this on a menu that everyone, including children, reads in your family cafe establishment? Why bring politics into breakfast? I am a straight married woman and this totally offended both my husband and I. Not only are you saying that transgendered people choose the way the feel, not that they are born with those feelings, you're saying that you clearly as a business, do not support them. Which is completely fine, everyone is entitled to their opinions- but why do I, as a customer, need to know that you are ignorant bigots while I'm ordering food and trying to enjoy this wonderful little town? read more

Awesome food at a great price. I love the banana nut muffins they give you to wet your whistle. I wouldn't expect to find a place this good at a small town on the northern border of MT, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our server was nice, but we did have to chase her down to pay our bill. Great place for breakfast or brunch. I've not tried their lunch. The food is fresh and delicious. I had the special smoked salmon benedict today and it was very good. It came with hash browns that were nice and crispy on the outside. The coffee here is great and they give you complimentary homemade mini muffins upon arrival which are delicious. The staff are friendly and the decor is like an old time dinner with a lot of local historical paraphernalia all around. It feels warm and inviting there. read more

Our drinks were never refilled, no one asked how our food was and we gave up waiting for our check after 15 minutes of trying to get the waitresses attention. Café Jax is known for breakfast, which is actually pretty good. Eureka, Montana is a small town, and this is definitely a locals-preferred eatery. Obviously, they will serve people from out of town, but we found the service diminished while watching all the locals being catered to. Locals get table touches from the owner, while we sit and watched. On trying to pay the bill, the owner encouraged and allowed a local to cut in line, pay first, and told me I would be next. When he was done with the local, he walked away and bused a table... total snub. After waiting another several minutes, one of the other employees finally took my money. The irony of all this is that my family crest founded this town. read more
