Seemed reasonable enough. Confirmed an appointment with him. The day of the move, he asks if we can move the appointment back 30 mins. I tell him we can push it back an hour if he needs more time. He does, so we re-schedule the appointment an hour back three hours before the original appointment. This guy texts me AT the exact time we're supposed to be meeting that he's going to be 30 mins late. Seriously? No apology, nothing. Just straight lack of professionalism. I guess I'm in the minority, but I had quite the unpleasant experience with Chris the Dude. Today I wanted to buy a large dresser from Costco but with my sedan and no friends with trucks or a large van, I decided to look on craigslist to hire a haul service. I found Chris the Dude, and decided to call to see if he was available because if not, I was just going to get the dresser at a later date when I could obtain the proper transportation. I was quite happy when he said he was available, and he told me that he would be at that Costco in 45 minutes. After I purchased the dresser, I waited outside Costco (in Richmond) for about an hour before deciding to call him back. When I called him to see where he was, he said that he just left Antioch from a separate job and would be here in 20 minutes. Although I was a little upset that he was going to be late and also that he did not notify me that he was going to be late, I just told him it was fine and that I would be waiting. After 25 minutes passed, I called him back to see where he was once more, he then became angry with me that I kept calling him and that his trailer only allowed him to travel at 55 mph and told me he was still on the rode. At this point, with his lack of professionalism, I told him that I wished that he had told me he was either going to be late, or have given me a better estimate of the wait time so that I could have planned my day better. I was especially upset because I did not show him any hint of frustration until he got upset at me. Once I explained to Chris that I didn't think it was fair for him to be upset at me, he then said that he wasn't going to come at all and hung up. Honestly, because I had already bought this heavy and large dresser drawer, became tired from the wait and shopping for food, and didn't want to spend another day coming back to Richmond from Berkeley for this thing, I didn't even want to waste another breath arguing by calling him back or returning the item. Instead I put on my thinking cap, and thought to myself, "I bet I could just find a guy with a truck or a van in Costco to help me move my stuff for 50 bucks!" I kid you not, 5 minutes later I found an extremely friendly guy with a truck and with his two kids who happily offered to help. After I told him my story, he didn't even want to receive payment and offered to just help move it because my place wasn't too far away! Of course I heavily insisted on paying him, and after he accepted the cash I told him I was just so grateful for his help. I am not saying that Chris the Dude is a bad mover; he could be extremely efficient once he's actually there. But, after being extremely patient with him, getting an extremely rude response, and worst of all, him literally STRANDING me at Costco with my heavy dresser after waiting for so long, I would never hire him again and would never recommend him to anyone. read more

At 6:15 he text me that he would be an hour late - ok , so now we are planning on 8pm. At 7:45 I called him and he still needed another hour - ok - now the plan is for 9pm.
