I went to this place on a Saturday night and it was fun. There was a decent amount of people but it was not crowded. They played hip hop dance music and there were pool tables. The drinks were good and not overpriced. There was no cover charge to get in. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the parking was rough and people were allowed in with backpacks and there was no security check. read more

I've been coming to Chris's Club for a little over a year now, and I've never been disappointed. Whether it's the Friday special shows filled with amazing local talent, the very competent and skilled mixologists, or the vibes of the talented DJ's.... It's always an enjoyable time. Funny enough, it's located next to a fantastic Mexican food place and grocery mart, but the food served in the establishment is more than enough for us! The service was good. The bartender was nice and he be pouring up like it's no tomorrow, lol ....I felt like I was at cheers but nobody knew my name. I went there for poetry night. It was a lil nice hole in the wall and I would go back but the police was pulling everybody over as they left so idk if thats how they get down in Vallejo or if they really call they self "cracking down" idk but I really enjoyed the poetry. I've only been to a few bars, so I'm probably the last person who should review one. I went here to support my friend and her husband. He plays drums in a band and their band had a gig at Chris's. Upon telling 3 different people that I was going to Chris's Club in Vallejo, I got 3 jaw drops. "Are you serious?" Yes, I'm serious! I wasn't going just to go, sheesh. I didn't bother to tell them I was going alone. Vallejo has ah...reputation to put it mildly. When I first got there, it was bright and very quiet inside. Only "friends" of the various bands playing and approx. 2 or 3 regulars up at the bar. I was driving, so I wanted to get my 2 drinks in early. I ordered a rum and coke. Bartender says, "$3". I said, "WHAT?" I had pulled out $6 because that's generally what a well drink runs. She repeated "$3". Sweet. The first band didn't start playing for over an hour. When they did start to play, all the lights were brought down and the music was loud. Nearly impossible to talk over. It was fine with me, I'm not a big talker. I just enjoyed and listened. A few more groups of people had appeared at this point, but it was never crowded. There is a stripper pole if you are so inclined. I was there on "heavy metal" night so I wasn't inclined. I went out back a few times to keep my girlfriend company while she had a couple of smokes. There is a little patio area with tables and a tv. There are 2 pool tables in the main part of the bar and I saw at least one more up the stairs. I left at midnight when the last band was setting up. My ears were ringing. I showed up alone, so I left alone as well. As I walked out I was thrown a "you be careful pretty lady" and I heard about 3 exclamations of the F word thrown in the general direction of my ass. I promised I would return for the food, and who are we in this world without our word? I showed up around 6pm after the kitchen was fired up. It was steak night, but I was feeling like nachos, although I didn't look like nachos. I wouldn't order the nachos again, not because they weren't tasty, but it was just shredded cheese on top of chips with some fresh salsa on the side. I could have done that myself, but remember - it was still good, and I did eat it all. By the way, the salsa had cilantro. Did I mention that there was cilantro? I know I mentioned that it was steak night, and that means you buy the steak and cook it yourself outside. My boyfriend was cooking while I devoured the nachos and cilantro, and not too long after I finished, he appeared with his trophy. I should have skipped the nachos and asked for cilantro with my steak. It was to die for! It also came with salad and a baked potato which he loaded up with onions, sour cream, and something else - possibly bacon, but whatever it was, it was de-lish! While we ate his steak outside, the jazz band started up, and yet again the music was too loud inside, so I was relieved we were outside. I'm not fond of the loud music no matter the genre, but that won't keep me away. The staff was very nice, the food was good, the beer was flowing, and I had a parking spot right in front. Isn't it nice to know that management and staff at this place have the customer's safety and well being in the front of their minds? Went here for the first time to watch a friends band perform! Off of first impression from the staff, I was actually a little relieved. Only because I heard that this place is usually filled with a lot of older people and sometimes it can get really crowded! Any-whooo!!!! This place has a ton of space, stage area, about 3 pool tables and as I already mentioned the staff was nice! They actually are a resturant as well and from what I hear they serve a mean steak, although I didn't eat anything last night, the drinks were perfect! Well, i wish i could say i remember much of anything about this place. I came out to see a friend of a friend's band play and to hang out with two of my favorite people in their hometown. When driving up I thought they were kidding about it being where we were going. Totally unassuming from the outside, it looks much smaller than it is. Located right behind a gas station/starbucks just off a freeway off-ramp, i seriously didn't believe that this was the place. Once inside, I found the lighting a little bright for a bar, but I guess that's helpful when it comes to avoiding the embarrassment of realizing that hottie you were chatting up all night was not so hot when the lights come up at closing time. There was a neat little back patio area, and pool tables off to the side. Interesting is one word you could use to describe the crowd. There was definitely a skeeze factor going on, but most people seemed nice enough. The drinks were pretty cheap, which i like. And the sound system is loud, and loud in a it kinda hurt my ears sometimes way... But that's about all I can remember.. I'm pretty sure something got put in my drink, because i'm not such a lightweight, I had a nice big dinner, and just as i was starting to sip my 3rd drink it all goes blank. It would be one thing if I had gotten progressively more drunk then blacked out, but I was barely buzzed and then the next thing i know it was about 8 hours later and I was sleeping on an air mattress at my friends' house in sweats that weren't mine. Thank god I was with friends who were responsible for getting me back to their house and changed and into a bed of sorts. So be careful because you never know, it could have been some random person who stopped in here that night, or it could have been a regular. read more

well i just went here last night because two of my friends booked both on this night to play some punk and metal shows. Coming from the concord area we pretty much were the life of the party there. The crowd was a bit strange but is expected for the location and dive bar "scene." The bartender was sweet and the door men were super friendly. i loved the whole staff here. So me and my friend had to use the ladies room and as we were walking through the dingy hallway and past the boys bathroom we were hit in the face with a horrible stench of boy pee and i mean it was gross. so we kick open the bathroom door to the girls restroom and avoid touching anything because it just seemed so filthy. i would have to say one of the worst bathrooms ive been in. Other than that the back patio is cool and the pool tables are a plus. i might come here again if i know any of the bands playing. read more

Okay, so this was not exactly the atmosphere I was looking for on the particular night I tried this spot, but this bar had many endearing qualities. The bouncer and bartender were really friendly. The bartender was pretty hot, too, a real cougar. Most of the customers were friendly. There were three middle aged Hispanic men, one with a cowboy hat drinking coronas and shooting pool, a black couple in their 60s flirting and telling jokes, and a few loner white guys dotting the long bar. A middle aged white man with a big round face in a bushy gray beard claimed to be a regular and happily fielded my questions about a gay dive bar I had read about. But another white man in his late twenties or early thirties, tall, blond and creepy (telling my friend, a tall beautiful woman, that he wanted to smell her) was noticeably discomforted when I voiced my curiosity about the gay bar. SO more about this bar. 3 pool tables and a jukebox and a kitchen. A stage for live music,and about 12 tables with chairs to sit and eat and watch the stage. There was an outside patio with an old television set. The whole outdoor area kind of smelled like cat pee. It was all very small town dive-i-ness nice. read more

Cook your own Steaks Thursday nights, platinum! You can pick your own cut and you get three sides for $10 dollars (depending on the cut of meat you choose, I chose Rib-Eye). The drinks are cheap, and fair. The crowd is locals, everything you can expect from a dive bar. It was hip-hop all night on Thursday, which I loved. Pool tables are free to play. This is a "I do not have nothing to do and want to get out the house" type of place. I will come again! read more

Been to Chris's Club a couple of times. Nice place, just not fancy lookin, that's all. Very cozy, roomy, and friendly. It's your middle class working man's bar. Last time I went was on Blues Open Mic night. Fabulous. Very impressed with the local talent, also that everyone got along so well, not only on stage, but the whole place. They play great music, have good food and drinks, and the crowd is cool. All this can't describe the charm of the place which to me is welcoming. That makes me want to come back. read more

Pros: My last visit here witnessed great performances from Ska/Reggae bands such as "Pion 2 Zion" and "Monkee." That event alone brings a glimmer of hope for the cultural scene in Vallejo. From the entrance to exit from here, I was greeted by a friendly bouncer, a professional bartender and a descent crowd. The restrooms were also remarkably clean. There is also an equally descent selection of draft beers. There is also a pool table to add to a variety of activity. Cons: As with any bar, especially in this city, patrons must be wary after 10pm. The cleanliness of the facilities, the professional security and crowd that is drawn to this place does help make a safe scene. Bottom Line: This is descent venue to get a drink or listen to music, especially for being a dive bar. The laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff are the best part about experiencing a night a Chris'. read more

What can I say about Chris's club - other than it is awesome!? People have described it to me as the new up-and-coming spot in Vallejo to find good music. Every night you come here might be a different experience. My first was a live Monday night jazz experience that knocked my socks off. It definitely drew in an older more sophisticated and laid back crowd. And the music the music couldn't be beat. They have a full bar and a kitchen. I ordered the chicken wings and they were crispy and delicious just the way good bar food should be. Also, the cook was very nice as my pickiness was indulged and I asked for the hot sauce on the side. (I can't stand hot sauce that is too hot!) There are many great rock bands with ska-influence that play shows on the weekends the last and probably my favorite was the Pion to Zion and Monkey show. If you weren't there you just don't know what awesomeness you were missing out on and I feel sorry for you. ;) I've seen other up and coming bands there as well such as D.U.B. and The Jessica Ryan experience. One of my other faves was Kristen Van Dyke and the bunnies. Come for the experience, the divey-ness and none to worry about any drama or ghetto-ness because the nicest bouncer ever will keep things under control. My girlfriends and I have also walked freely to the two liquor stores around the corner without harassment. They have great drink prices too and the cover for shows can't be beat! $4 for a well drink and $2.50 for a beer! I'm a college student so entertainment must come cheap. AND cover for a weekend show is only $3-5!!! Blues night is always free to my understanding. Nice, big place. Pool tables, a small stage where they have live bands, lots of seating (booths & tables) and a friendly bar staff. It isn't a dark, dingy bar .. feels pretty bright & happy. OK selection of beer & booze, beyond a "just the basics" place. BONUS: they sell various flavors of pistachio nuts from a regional grower (i think). Not the stuff you'd buy at 7-11, but more like at a roadside produce stand. Cool! read more

I've been to a few shows at this club. The vibe is cool and the sound is decent. The crowd is hit or miss, but for the most part, folks have been friendly. Just the nature of the game to have some rowdy idiot at a place where there is plenty of booze. Don't let that stop you from catching a show at the club. There's a patio out back for you chain smokers and a pool table in the bar for those of you that need to work on your game. Listen...I live in Vallejo and wont go back to this place. The bartender does EVERYTHING but serve drinks..she takes multiple smoke breaks outside for 10-15 minutes at a time...she serves her friends immediately...hell she was in the process of making my drink when a friend at the end of the bar called to her and she said "What do you want". The young lady told her and she stopped making my drink and walked to the end of the bar and made her drink and then came back to me...finally I got my drink and my friend walks in. She goes to order a drink and sits at the bar for 15 minutes and then comes over to me like she just left and hasn't been back. We wait another 10.minutes and she finally comes back...my friend rushes over to get her drink. I finish mine and go to the bar to tell her I want another drink. She nods ok. 10.minutes go pass...15 minutes. Amother bartender come in with a puppy and wouldnt you know...she goes over and picks the puppy up and starts carry it behind the bar and NO ONE is getting drinks. i finally ask the new bartender to make my drink and she says ok....10.minutes later she is washing glasses...I say excise me...I have been waiting 25-30 minutes for a simple drink...all I want is my drink...she says ok...makes my drink and then proceeds to knock the drink over..she remakes my drink and at that point I say close me out because I know I am NOT ordering another drink from this place. Then comes the terrible main bartender who is once again talking to her friends and not serving drinks...she says " Well what do you want...a line? What do you have, 10 dollars?". The next thing you know they are heading to the back patio...clearly to sell coke...I just smh like I will NEVER come back here again. The owners need to reevaluate the face of their bar...because what is being presented is NOT professional and in fact is ghetto and unsafe...not even going to get into the unsafe aspect...if you cant fight or dont have a hammer...just skip this place...its not for you. read more

Okay...to begin....ahem!!! (Clearing throat!!!) My first impression was not very positive! That was 13 or so yrs ago....it seemed seedy; tacky; not very well kept up; gross rest rooms; BUT...now let's hear a bit of a drum roll!!! Now, 13 yrs. later, it's STILL all the above, but I go for 3 reasons...the live music on Mondays and Thursdays; friends; and e.g. on Thursday, their steak night in which you buy however much steak you want that you BBQ YOURSELF on grills that have REAL charcoal! Along with the steak, they offer baked potatoes with all the fixings (sour cream; green onions; faux bacon bits; butter etc) along with a tossed salad and 3 dressings; and hot vegetable(s)....all for around $11 or so depending on size of the cut of NY steak. (They cut it right in front of you so you can govern amount). The owner is an odd duck, and really don't have anything nice to say about him as he's rude; obnoxious; brusque; CHEAP (won't pay bands &^%$); but as long as he steers clear of me and as with one time he all but mowed me over as he was RUNNING with a keg of beer on a hand truck and bumped into me w/out so much as "Ooooh...I'm sorry" to "Oh....did I hurt you?" (He did) ...but if you can overlook HIM and go for the entertainment, you won't be disappointed. And...as several have said, Lori is the bomb!!! She always knows what I drink and is very accommodating! I would give it a better rating if it weren't so tacky, physically. That really IS my one major objection. I've yet to "come down" with anything, so I am assuming it's adhering to minimum standards of health inspection!!! As you can see, my name is CHRIS, and several folks have said "Oh, do you own this place?" to which I say.... "If I did, it surely wouldn't look THIS way!!!" This is the best dive bar in Vallejo in my opinion. The bartender here is awesome and the drinks are inexpensive. They also have a kitchen that serves THE BEST garlic fries. They usually have metal bands, which isn't exactly my type of music but I don't mind. It is nice to change things up every once in a while. read more

Great fun for adults, good food, great music, laughs all around unless you have to pee ladies...then you venture into the Women's Room and find a thorough mess! One toilet, ill kept, one toilet down and out with a auger stuck into it, poor lighting and unclean. There is NO EXCUSE for this in an otherwise fine working bar/lounge.
