It's been a while since I've come here pre covid. I remember coming here for at least 10 years... We came down to Benicia for the UBE festival on first Street. Unfortunately, the festival did not serve any liquor so we decided head down to the local bar before we enjoy the festival and all the food it had. We walked into the bar, and it felt like the establishment hasn't changed a bit. The ambiance is the dark speakeasy bar feeling. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a super nice bartender who made some delicious drinks! Back in the day there used to be brunch and a bigger food menu but they have stopped that. The buffet I guess was a waste and a lot of food didn't get eaten. They used to have a make your own Bloody Mary bar, but didn't see that either. The menu is on an IPad and it's nice to see the photos of what the every drink looks like. There is an assortment of drinks to choose from. This is one of the bars that actually knows how make drinks!We order a mixture of drinks, from the key lime pie martini, to the spicy jalapeño margaritas with the Tajin rim, to the delicious pear drink! These drinks were made with love! I would definitely recommend this place for drinks, during the evening they usually have a band playing. The only reason why it's not a 5 star is the old furniture... I used to love sitting on the sofas for a cozy feeling but they look pretty beat up now... just makes things look a bit dirty. I have been to the Rellik so many times and I have never left unhappy. The service is great and the staff is really friendly and make the effort to get to know you. Their food is always really good and they have a huge variety of drinks, beers, hard alcohol, mixed drinks and they even have a " birthday cake shot" which I highly recommend whether it's your Bday or not! The cucumber martini is my go to drink there. Trust me and order it. It tastes really light and refreshing with a nice cucumber flavor. I have NEVER had anyone not think it was amazing after trying a sip. Don't let the word "martini" scare you. This drink is heaven. If you haven't been to the Rellik then you're really missing out. What a neat little bar located in the heart of downtown Benicia. Cool vibes, drinks, everything! This placed is fully equipped with a variety of seating options, including comfy couches which my friend and I were able to secure. Immediately we were greeted by one of the employees who handed us a menu on the iPad. Once we decided what we wanted, we ordered at the bar. I tried a few mixed drinks and they were all pretty good! Not a fan of the cider though. We didn't get to try the food here but will definitely try it next time. There was a musician playing great music, but not too loud that we couldn't talk. The drinks and the food were good. The service was friendly. Came here on a random afternoon with some classmates. We weren't looking to drink, we were mainly on the prowl for some food. Fortunately, we were welcomed by the bartender - he checked our IDs and led us to one of the couch areas. While looking at the menu, we noticed the very consistent theme seen at Rellik; it was edgy but very community-based (there were posters for events they hosted, and the bar was in theme with Halloween, which around the time we dropped by). We ordered the following: - Mac and cheese - Very very yummy! I'm a fan of the cheese they used and the little crumbs in the dish as well. One of the better mac and cheeses I've had in the Bay Area. - Fried beans - Delicious! The breading was solid and the amount of beans was perfect for our group of people. - Margherita pizza - Normal margherita compared to other places I've been to. Good, but not impressionable. - Onion rings - Nice and crisp + not too oily. Really enjoyed the quality of the appetizers here! For first impressions, Rellik did a good job taking care of my classmates and I. I would love to experience it during prime hours to see what it's really about. Came here to catch up with some friends. Have a few tables outside, they even offer booths, bar seating or high tables. So they have different options of what type of get together you have. We made friends with the bouncer from sitting outside. Good guy and definitely made the night hilarious. One of the few bars open later in Benicia. We were getting shots and didn't really order food. So can't say how their food was. But looking at the drink menu they have a variety of cocktails to try out. read more

Perfect spot for a wedding after party here in the private room. There was a minimum purchase of 2 bottles to reserve the room, each bottle came with a choice of two mixers. The pricing of the bottles are on the company website, very transparent. There was a bartender in the room serving the drinks. The room snuggly holds about 20 people, but there was no problem overflowing into the general bar/lounge area, or outside. I had up to 40 guests and it was no problem. The vibe was great! Live band with a good sized dance floor and friendly servers. The owner Debbie was amazing, she was very clear and prompt in communication, via texting and calling. Came here on a BUSY Friday night with my sister, but we were still helped in a timely manner and received wonderful service! After a long week at work, it was nice to settle down and enjoy a Malibu Sunrise and delicious Macaroni and Cheese! Tom and I have been coming to the Rellik's open mic's on Tuesdays at 7:30pm since after the pandemic, and have seen some really great musicians. We stopped in one night and two weeks later I had them cater my mother's funeral service. Chelsea, the kitchen manager, and Deb, the owner, were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. I absolutely adore the Rellik, an all time favorite neighborhood bar! As a shameless barfly, I am always eager to belly up. To me, the Rellik is a Benicia institution, and I have had so many fun experiences there! Most are cocktails and nibbles with friends, chilling on the sofas or side by side at the bar. Those great nights where conversations just flow with marvelous music in the background. Some of the most fun nights though are Wednesday karaoke! That party goes well into the night, and you can really feel the locals come out for a great time. The vibe in that room is just love, no pressure. And don't overlook the food! I'm a huge fan of the fried green beans and lumpia especially, oh my goodness - addiction forming! I cannot wait to return to Rellik, and oh yes indeed I WILL finally attend a goth night this year! read more

Visited Rellik Tavern for the first time last weekend to catch a live band I like. The venue is the essence of a cool local bar. I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. A couple next to me ordered the French dip sandwiches and were also impressed. Our server, Sarah, was great. I'll def be back. I'll add that this is really a bar with a very small stage. The cheese plate has totally gone to h÷×l. They have this wierd honey with chilli flakes in that does not compliment anything on the plate, the previous honey complimented it. Nuts were missing from the plate and the orange slices do nothing for it. THEN you go into the men's restroom and there was no door on the stall. It was one and out tonight. read more

We decided last minute to go on a day date. We choose the Rellik. Chloe was our fabulous and very friendly bartender today. We went in for cocktails and appetizers. We had the Raven's Claw (stuffed jalapeños) and the shrimp and fries. Raven Claw was excellent, so was the dip, but prepare for heat, very, very good. The shrimp delicious and the cocktail sauce amazing. I don't know what they put on the fries, but you can't stop eating them. I started with the Ticked Pink (refreshing) then the Riva Ranch Chardonnay. Great food, drink, service and time. First time here. Came with my friend after a beauty salon visit. The place is nicely laid out with couch seating areas and the bar. They also have a nice patio area. Live music was just starting as we left. The staff is friendly and the drinks and food were great. We both had dirty martinis, shared a wedge salad, raven's wings (with hot sauce and ranch on the side) and ahi tuna crisps. They host a goth themed night once a month. Easily my favorite bar in Benicia. There's something about Rellik that is just magical to me. I'm sure if your a Benicia native, you have your a bias to a certain bar maybe due to food or maybe it's because you like the employees that work there. Maybe you also enjoy overly crowded bars where you have to walk up to the actual bar in hopes that someone will notice you so that they can actually get an order. "I" particularly don't. But the point I think I want to make it is that everyone has their preferences on why they like bars. To me Rellik is something much more though. It really takes a pandemic to make you realize the little things you miss in life. One of them in this case is a hang out spot that me and my girlfriend would often go to after work to drink and eat away our problems and remember why we love life so much and most important of all each other. When I walked in on Friday and saw our corner spot was open, it was like I said earlier: magical. Everything was falling into place. Sure me and my girl had ordered Doordash plenty of times here. We even ate outside in the front once before the outside in the back was completely finished. But both experiences just wasn't the same as actually coming into the establishment like we used to a year and a half ago. Sitting there on Friday and seeing how happy the diverse crowd was around us truly made it feel like things were beginning to come back to normal in Benicia. That moment was pretty special. This particular night we were served by someone named Arrie. Or is it Ary? Either way she was the G.O.A.T. out of all the people who have served us. She was super friendly but yet checked on us at the perfect amount of times. After all, on a 90 degree plus day in Benicia, needless to say we were parched and extra alcohol needed to be drank. But all joking aside we really just enjoyed how awesome and attentive she was so shout outs to her. Also shoutouts to her for helping me somehow find my credit card between the couch cushion. Obviously it's been a year and a half TOO long that I've been gone so I'm going to need to work on getting my tolerance back up...Btw the Sangria is fantastic. It really is. Let's talk about food. Me and my girlfriend had to order our usual: Large Margherita Pizza, Raven Wings, Lumpia, and Fries. Everything we ate was just how we remembered it: godlike. The pizza had fresh ingredients. The Lumpia was fried perfectly. The fries were perfectly crispy and as always, you get a lot. The wings also are perfectly crisp with a sauce that will make you think you are on Hot Ones(Check Youtube. You'll love the show. I promise.) Truly everything that night seemed like we weren't in a Pandemic. Like nothing had changed and it felt amazing. Rellik feels like home. It's obviously not because we have to walk at least 4 blocks up the street from our house to get here but with how many times me and my girlfriend have come, it's definitely a tradition to us now. I've never felt like I was an outcast here and I've always enjoyed the fact that I can sit on a couch and have a server with a great personality serve me bomb bar food. It's not even bar food though really. It's some of the highest quality of food you can get at a bar in town and I would even be bold to say better than some restaurants in town. I don't think I've ever had a messed up order here either. Ultimately if I had friends who had never been to Benicia and wanted me to recommend one bar to them, I would recommend Rellik. I feel like with each year that passes, Benicia is always improving more and more. That being said, The Rellik Tavern is one of the few bars in town that also is striving to improve year after year. read more

## Don't Miss Goth Night! ## One of the locals told me about this tavern at breakfast, so as soon as it opened I ran over to give it a try. It was totally unlike what I expected! It's very narrow and long, with all kinds of sofas against the wall. Naturally, they have a very long bar counter as well. There is a second group of tables a little further on, as well as a smoking deck outside. I don't smoke, but I went and checked it out anyway. Next time, I will bring a pipe. There is also a secret, reserve room. I wasn't sure how to get in there, but I was pretty sure I didn't qualify. With its name, you might think this tavern is sort of old-fashioned, but that's not true. It's pretty modern inside, and the bathrooms are ultra-modern (and especially clean and well-maintained.) I was here just for a beer, but they do have a full menu as well. While I was having my beer, a couple people came in to inquire about their famous clam chowder soup. The tavern has quite a few regular events. They even have a calendar. For example, coming up is Goth Night, poker night, as well as New Year's Eve party. It's true--they have a monthly Goth Night. The bartender explained that you don't really have to be a goth, you can just dress up like one. He said the real Goths are not offended. They invite imitators. Besides goth night, they have poker night, Open Mic musician night, and a New Year's Eve party coming up. So overall, a fun place to go when you're visiting the beautiful historic area of downtown Benicia. It opens a little bit earlier than the Brewer brew pubs: 11:30 read more
