Not once in the past six years have we ever had any issues with the school the kids love it here they enjoy the teachers and they enjoy making new friends every day. The interaction is awesome and the teachers make sure to do a good job of keeping the parents updated on what they're doing every day. My wife and I also got married at this church and we attend church year. They try to serve breakfast at least a couple times a month to really keep the community together. The church is very proactive and do a lot for the community I'm very proud to have me and my family members here.

I was talking with her teachers and preschool director about this for a few months because it was only worsening. The teachers were extremely rude and their only advice to me was that we had to have play dates with the other families/children from class. How was this the only solution and why was this required in order for my daughter to enjoy and thrive in school? Finally one day at home, my daughter told me that "my teachers at school hurt me" and she showed my how they hurt her -- grabbing her arm hard. We immediately withdrew her from school. Not only did we have a major struggle integrating my daughter into a new preschool since she was scared to death being in a classroom environment, but she still thinks about her horrible experience there and told us out of the blue 6 months ago that "my mean teachers kicked me" and she demonstrated that to me. Kids don't have the ability to make this stuff up..!!! What is most upsetting is that we were members of this church and the pastor told my husband "we have never had complaints about these teachers". Well good for you!!!! After we stopped going to this disgusting church and preschool, our daughter eventually healed and we got her back again!! She went to an absolutely amazing new preschool who helped her become less scared of school and she got her excitement back again for going to learning!! She made tons of friends at her new school, learned a lot, and loved going! My biggest regret was not taking her out of Peace Preschool sooner.

I attended Trinity Lutheran Church on Easter Sunday as a guest. The music was beautiful and the gospel reading was moving. Although this service with modern music was not what I am used to, I felt comfortable...until the sermon. The pastor completely missed the mark. He began by asking, "How would you feel if someone killed your child?" He then proceeded call us all killers by saying things like, "You killed Him!" (Repeatedly and with conviction). This was all said Easter Sunday morning to a parish that included small children. Easter is a day of celebration and joy. It is a day that, as Christians, we celebrate a miracle that changed the world. It set us free. It is a time to be grateful for the life Christ gave us, not for the life human sin ended.

We were very happy to find out that a French school exists in Minneapolis, and so we registered her. The contact with the school was from the start very positive: they were welcoming to our daughter, the classes are small groups so a lot of attention is given to each student. We are also very much impressed by the STEAM approach, which is a much more intuitive and creative form of learning. Our daughter has learned in this three months so much more compared to the more traditional learning process in Europe. That all of this was moreover tuition free makes notre école a little gem.

However the next week during pick up, his eyes were puffy and I could tell he had been crying for some time. He stated one of the teachers (with black hair) hit him on his arm. I immediately spoke with the director Kim who had him point out who did it behind the two way mirror in her office. He pointed to the lady "in the green shirt with black hair". She was disappointed and in shock. Told me she'd have a talk with that teacher and get back. After not hearing back, I sent emails and made calls to her. Finally received an email stating "we have a hard time believing this happened" and a whole bunch of other non sense. My kid was so scared of this one teacher he would shut down on the drive there. We finally decided to pull him out a week later since "nothing" happened. Ms. Brenda is a great teacher, and it's seems as if Kim the director runs the place very well- but I think she should've handled this situation more seriously. Cooperate was contacted but haven't heard much since.

My husband and I absolutely love the Montessori program, and we have loved seeing how the children embrace every aspect of it as they grow. The teachers there have been wonderful, and my children literally skip in the door every morning. The educational activities, field trips, and life skills that they offer here are second to none. I have been especially impressed the past couple of years with the infant room teachers. They are truly the nicest people in the world, and my daughter adores them. This has made the transition from maternity leave to working full time so much easier! My oldest daughter started Kindergarten this past year in the public school system, but she rides the bus back to Step By Step in the afternoons for the school age program. She has excelled in Kindergarten thanks in large part to her Montessori training, and Step By Step remains a familiar respite for her to come to after school. The staff here are very agreeable and accommodating, and you can tell they truly love what they do because most of the teachers have been there for many years. I admire what they do, and I go to work every day knowing my children are not only receiving excellent care, but they are also growing academically, as well as socially each and every day!

It soon became apparent, however, that you get what you pay for, and I would gladly sell various internal organs (either my own or those of others) to keep him here. Bottom line, they teach kids to be independent and to love to learn, and as a teacher myself, this is THE most important lesson.

First the positives- the director and administrator are wonderful, talented individuals. When I…read moreexpressed my concerns to the director, she took action immediately and followed up with me. We had a terrible experience with my son's Huckleberry class and pulled out after 7 weeks. You know those parents with a lot of kids at the mall that have that look of stress yet are gritting through with a forced friendly smile? That was my son's teacher. She seemed totally overwhelmed and unresponsive to my concerns. When I asked for a written report the first week, she shortly replied that they didn't have time because there were too many diapers to change. Really? Did you not plan on changing a lot of diapers in a 2 year old class? Also know that state regulations require daily written reports (also know as of 9/2013 the school is NOT accredited). She also said they provide them occasionally (after speaking to the director we got them every day thereafter). I could go on and on with other red flags, but I'll be short: class size too big (14 for 2 year olds which is ridiculous when you're paying a premium), unresponsive e-mails to the teacher, unwillingness to work through my son's adjustment., walking pneumonia in the second week (in fairness that could happen anywhere). My son was miserable and it was so frustrating as I didn't know why; his teacher had such poor communication and lacked warmness that you would expect from a preschool teacher. My biggest regret is that I didn't withdraw my son earlier as he still remembers his experience 6 months later and says "I don't like my old school." I'm happy to say we're at a different preschool now and my son loves it. His teacher is warm, caring, and patient. It's been a completely different experience. Also know that I know of another parent who withdrew her child due to concerns about his teacher. I also want to add that I have friends who have kids at Berry Patch with different teachers and love it. Their teachers have been wonderful and loving. Thus, it seems that it really depends on which teacher your child gets. Based on their reputation, it seems like the majority of teachers are wonderful. Just beware they have a few bad ones...
