My realtor had scheduled a showing with Kim Alden a week ago as I was flying in from another state…read more(moving back to IL). Flight was delayed 2 hrs. but my realtor was in communication with Kim and we were still scheduled to see a particular home that was listed as ACTIVE. We finally arrive and we can't open the lockbox. After back and forth texts with my realtor Kim tells her that the house went under contract 10 min. earlier. Not only that, there were 5 other offers on the home so clearly they should not have been wasting people's time with showings if they had multiple buyers. We rushed to get there, and let's be clear, there's a lot driving involved when looking in Barrington. Not only did she NOT come out of the gate to apologize, but she doubled down, even stating the clients wanted to still entertain offers. Here's the deal, unless your clients are also realtors then YOU are the professional (though she was anything but that) and it's your responsibility to educate them that it would be irresponsible to have people continue to schedule visits to a house they have no chance of owning. This particular property is stunning when you first arrive so there's an emotional reaction immediately have as well. As a buyer you already start to picture yourself there. You have zero clue that not only are they going under contract but there are backup offers and you haven't a chance. Now, if Kim wanted to disclose any of this and we still wanted to see the property then that's OUR decision, but she made it for us. SO UNprofessional. And, as we continue our home search IF I happen to see that Kim is the listing agent I will look elsewhere. She needs a refresher in ethics.

BUYER BEWARE! We…read morepurchased a home owned by Results Realty and what a huge mistake we made trusting them. We were first time homebuyers and everything went well until the French drain that they were supposed to have repaired by a licensed plumber ended up failing and flooding our garage and finished basement. Casey at Results Realty tried to blame us for not taking care of the French drain and denied any responsibility. Needless to say we spend $10,000 and had the drain repaired. To our surprise we found out there was never a French drain to begin with-- just a shallow pit that quickly overflowed and flooded our house. The neighbors reported this happened all the time before we bought the house as well so this was not caused by our lack of care or attention in any way, shape, or form. Since they owned the property for at least 6 months I'm sure they were well aware of this as well. In addition to not having the drain repaired, they provided fraudulent receipts and no work was every done on the drain before we purchased it. Now we're stuck in this house wondering what else the seller lied about. We've already had to redo some of the other minor repairs from the addendum as well. If you are considering getting into any sort of business agreement with this company, think twice.

A bird got inside and died there. The smell was awful. We had to disassemble all vents in order to remove dead bird and disinfect pipes. New paint is chipping already. Words just cannot describe all the hell we have been through. From the unpleasant closing experience till now I try to understand how far people could go to lie and make a profit on someones expense. Be extremely careful when you will deal with remodeled/flipped house by Gold and Azen Realty. It might look nice on outside, however, there will be a lot hidden problems behind the walls. Water leak in the basement, crawl space, lower level. Check the roof, attic, garage. Get a very good inspector. Even better, get all the history what was done in this house. There is a difference on what permit was issued for and what was really done after inspector left. Warning! Do not fall for new appliances, Samsung has many recalls. Warning! If basement is finished and has carpet on the floor-run away! If they tell you they have other offers, walk away. Unfortunately, I didn't. We purchased a home that Joyce and her partner had renovated and flipped. Although we are happy in…read morethe home now, our experience during the purchasing process was horrific. As first-time homebuyers, we relied on Joyce and her team to be honest about the condition of the property and the repairs we requested. We were told that the requested work had been completed and were provided receipts as proof. We later discovered that the work had not been completed as represented and that the receipts provided to us were fake. The home was also supposed to be professionally cleaned before closing because it was filthy from the construction. During our final walkthrough, we documented that the cleaning had not been done and brought the photos and receipts with us to closing. When we raised these concerns with our lawyer present, Joyce proceeded to scream at us. Even her own lawyer acknowledged that it was obvious the home had not been cleaned. We were then promised that someone would return in the spring to clean the gutters, but that never happened. After living in the home for approximately one month, we also discovered serious basement water issues that had not been disclosed to us. Based on what we found, it was difficult to believe that the sellers had been unaware of the problem. During closing, we were also threatened with the claim that they could find another buyer the next day and were told the house was still being shown. This made an already stressful and intimidating situation even worse. Based on our experience, I do not recommend doing business with Joyce or her associates, nor would I recommend purchasing a home renovated or flipped by them. We learned a very difficult and expensive lesson through this process. Joyce should be ashamed of the way she conducts business and what she claims to provide to the community.
