Ben & Sean, with office elves Madison and Shelly, are responsive, professional, neat, and creative. Our home looks amazing again this year. We have icicles around the 2-story exterior, plus lighted garlands on two balconies, and lights around our front-door pillars. Spectacular! Christmas Brothers brings all materials to my home. I rent the lights and garlands, which makes installation fast and take-down even easier. Best of all, I don't have to make room in my garage for 11 months of storage. No job too big or too small. This is my first time I write 1 star review. When I don't like a business, instead of writing a bad review, I don't do business with them anymore. But this one needs to be written. We used Christmas Brothers for a few years now, but this year was a Total catastrophic Rip-off. After leaving several messages, I finally got hold of Mark who emailed me the estimate after a couple of days. I was expecting around 50% increase this year. I was astonished when I saw the estimate. The price gone up from $1,625.00 to $7,768.95 for the exact job they have done previous years. Below are the pictures of previous and new estimates. First, I thought they send a wrong estimate, so I called and talked to Mark. After looking my old invoices, he said the prices are gone up and you did not decorate with us last year. I explain him that I lost my husband last year we were hearth broken and our businesses were lockdown end of November due to Los Angeles Covid-19 restrictions. His reply was cold and ruthless: he said, "sorry for your husband, we have a bigger warehouse and more employees now and this is our new prices". I told him I understand, I was expecting around 50% increase not 450%. He said it again you did not decorate with us last year so we cannot honor previous invoices, and this is our new prices, without thinking that I told him I lost a husband last year and I was hearth broken. Sitting here the last day of July and our Christmas lights are still up, they have now started to fall off of the house causing a hazard to people on the ground, my wife has made numerous attempts to contact them without any response. I got a postcard in the mail from Christmas Brothets and I called to inquire about pricing. I found their pricing reasonable I and I went ahead and got a roofline of white lights installed. I was blown away at how it transformed our small house and how nice it looked. I was also so impressed by the professionalism and quickness of the installers, so much so that I had them come back to wrap a few trees and a hedges with lights. The main installer that we had was named Geno and he was fantastic! I couldn't find a power source so he quickly help me identify one and made sure to hide it well. We would give negative stars if possible! We used Christmas Brothers to install lights on our clients home this year for Christmas. They are about as bad of a vendor as I can imagine. First off they were advised the budget was $750! They agreed! But did not provide a written estimate!! When done they presented a bill for $1100. We advised them that was not agreed to. Now for the worst part! The home in question is a newly remodeled home with a completely 100% new lightweight concrete tile roof in Newport Coast in fact the home was habitable but is only about 95% complete as of this writing. The Christmas Brothers personnel were advised to not walk on the roof of the home due to a specialized roof tile that is fragile. What do they do? They walk on the roof! All over the roof! Not just a couple of areas. NO! they were all over the roof. To top it off they were literally taking NO CARE to not damage delicate, hard to repair and expensive roof tiles. When caught on the roof they were told to get down. Which they did. But not before damaging more tiles. We advised Madison of Christmas Brothers of the situation and she denied they were on the roof (mind you she was not present at the site!) Madison also denied roof tiles were broken. We went and took photos of the tiles that were broken from various positions (about 40 tiles were affected) that we could access by ladder without walking on the roof and causing further damage. We sent those photos to Madison. Her only real response was when could her crew remove the lights and inspect the roof. We advised her no one can go on the roof she agreed in writing and sent a crew out. What is the first thing their representative (Myles!) does? He goes on the roof! While up there he damages more roof tile! We have photos of Myles going on the roof again without permission and a written representation by Madison that no one will go on the roof. When Madison was advised of all this and was presented with the evidence she STILL denied the situation. When asked for their insurance information Madison coyly said oh its not on this PC I will get back to you. Well guess what she has never gotten back to us despite over a half dozen emails and several phone calls. Very dishonest people! read more

I am so disappointed by the customer service from this company. I used this company first 3 years ago and since then referred them to so many people. However, I am so sad to report this company is no longer reputable or someone I would every use again. I called them this year, just like the few years prior to set up service for our Christmas light install for my house and my moms house ( we live 2 blocks from each other). Last year they did my house for $1600 and did my moms house for $750. When I called they notified me that their minimum went up to $850 and so it would be $850 for my moms house but my house price would not change since it met the minimum. Well 2 days later I got a call saying that the min. is now $1k and they cannot do her house for less. She further proceeds to tell me that my house will now also no longer be the $1600 rate they charged me last year but will be $2300. I understand price increases however a $700 increase seems ridiculous. All in all I don't think the girls in this office know what they are doing. What an amazing service! I've always wanted to have holiday lights on my home, but never knew how to go about it. I tried asking gardeners and task-rabbit people, but the costs and risks were too high with a 2 story house. Completely ruined my Christmas tree decoration. I had my Christmas lights installed by this company. The very expensive price included decorating a tree up to 30 feet. They missed the first appointment without a call indicating they were not coming (this should have been my clue to move on). I let them know at installation time this was not what we agreed upon. Installers indicated I contact the office. I contacted the office and showed them in writing what services I paid for and they agreed they would correct the problem. They made 2 appointments and never showed. On December 22nd they informed me they would not fix the issue but would mail a $200 refund check for compensation. I never received the check. We used Christmas Brothers in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, they were amazing so we rehired them in 2017. We pulled out the bin of lights we had used in 2016 and they put them up in 2017. What was odd is that it seemed like we had fewer light coverage on the house than the year before, which seemed odd, so we just passed it off as our memory being faulty. Fast forward to Jan 2018. They are taking down our lights in the middle of the afternoon and I just happen to open to the trash can on the side of the house. They had put a full string of lights in there. I asked what they were doing in there and they told me that they were bad. I'm not sure how they expected me to believe they would know they were bad when they were never turned on, so I waited outside with them until they were gone. When they finally left, I took the lights out of the trash can and tested them. Sure enough they worked just fine. I'm sure they were going take them at the last minute after I had gone into the house. I spoiled that plan by waiting for them to drive away. I also have no doubt that someone in Nov 2018 would have been sold my used lights as new. I don't know that all their teams are like this, but this was enough to sour me on Christmas Brothers forever. A TOTAL SCAM. Worst company I have ever hired for ANYTHING. They rip you off for hundreds of dollars every chance they get. I cannot emphasize enough how disgraceful their business practices are. This company is absolutely terrible at responding to phone calls. They are completely on top of trying to book houses to install the lights, but try getting them to come back out and take down the installed lights? NO RESPONSE! They did an okay job putting up the lights but had major problems with light timing and had to have them come back to the house a few times before they fixed the problem. Now I'm trying to uninstall the lights and guess what nobody has called me back, after two weeks of calling and leaving over 7 voicemails. I approved the estimate and was told by the gentleman on the phone that, due to a reschedule, they could be at my house @ 11am on the following day, Tuesday, December 16th. Stayed home from work, and Christmas Brothers never showed. I left a message at their office @ about quarter 'til noon, asking if they intended on coming, and that message was never returned, either. They stood me up, and they never called to explain why - so, with the holiday approaching, I just bought a roofer's kit for $100 @ Lowe's - which is about $300 less than it was going to cost Christmas Bros to put up and take down the lights, per their own estimate - and I'll put up the lights myself. Happy holidays, guys. Considering this is the second such incident Yelpers have experienced within a week, I'd steer clear of this business.
