After an unsatisfactory visit to IKEA, I decided to stop by this location in Torrance to find floor lamps that fit my needs. [Parking]: Easy and free designated parking lot just for Lamps Plus. [Experience]: They have every lamps that you can possibly think of - table lamps, chandeliers, ceiling fans/lights, floor lamps, etc. The shop has an eye-popping selection of different lamps and I appreciate how I was able to actually touch and see lamps in person vs shopping lamps on the internet. [Ordering]: I ultimately saw one floor lamp (Barnes and Ivy Forrest Sequoia Tree 61" Wicker Shade Rustic Floor Lamp - $249.99) and two table lamps (360 Lighting Fraiser 23 1/2" High Tapered Faux Wood Modern Table Lamp - $54.99) that I really like. I ended up placing an online order because I was able to receive 10% off by joining Lamps Plus email list (check the website for the current email sign-up discount for new customers). Shipment was quick as I received the packages in approximately 2 days. [Conclusion]: If you are in a market for any stylish lamps, then Lamp Plus has an incredible selection. I've been shopping at Lamps Plus for many years now and always have had a positive experience up until recently. I went there with intentions to buy a couple items, not one person came up to me nor could I find anybody on the floor to help, so I went to the front desk where there was one woman available. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and asked if they had this wall sconce in stock. She replied no, and seemed uninterested to help me further so I chose to spend my money elsewhere. I have a home in the Mandeville Canyon, and needed solid concierge service, as we were replacing around 15 fixtures including chandeliers, room lights, vanities. etc. Ada was Amazing!! She and I spoke on a Monday, and by Thursday had everything picked out, ordered, and half the order was delivered that Friday. After sending Ada a video tour, her recommendations were spot on. They were either ones she picked, or I was able to use the Lamps Plus website to see "similar items" to help me make educated choices. The good: Heidi and some other girl helped me during one of my visits here. They were friendly and helpful and allowed me to freely roam the store on my own without being bothered. I got my island pendant, dining chandelier, and bathroom sconces from their online store. I had to come in person to return 2 of the items because it didn't fit my space. Restrooms are for employees only but they were kind enough to let me use it because my pregnant belly & small bladder just couldn't handle it any longer. Their online selection is massive. The bad: A worker there said there's a 10% charge for cut wires. I had two lamps so he said "10% + 10% for each lamp so that's 20%" and he proceeded to calculate it that way manually on an external calculator rather than do 10% of the total. I bought a lamp from Lamps Plus maybe 7 years ago from a store in Las Vegas and just recently completely shattered the lamp shade. Living in LA now, this Lamps Plus location was able to pull up my nearly decade ago order and get a replacement lamp shade shipped to me within 2 days. Everything at Lamps Plus is higher end merchandise, and even though you're paying a premium for it, you get what you pay for when it comes to quality and service. read more

Starting off with the manager BAMBI, extremely rude when I called to ask for an update on an order that was supposed to be received three weeks ago! 2 PARTS, only 1 came in after waiting 3 weeks when they said it'd take 3-5 business days, I've called multiple times and all they can say is " we will check on this order and call you back" I have yet to receive a call back after three phone calls. I just left this store. For the last two years I wanted to see the inside. What a disappointment. Everything and I mean everything is over priced. Clearance items are over priced. Go to Home Depot, Ikea or Amazon instead. And their customer service is horrible. I came in, the first sales girl who had a long ponytail, ignored me. Didn't say hello. I pass another sales lady with bleach blond, over processed hair. Not one word to me as a customer. As I was making my way out the door, to my right, was a salesman. He wears glasses and has short brown hair. He just watched me. Not a greeting or a can I help you. Not until I'm two feet from leaving the front door, does this sales guy tell me to have a good day. Yeah right. He could have asked me if I found everything okay. He didn't. The fool Just watched me until I was about to leave. These people don't realize that there are too many places to go for lamps and furniture. And why the hell would I spend money at a place where I am not helped, just watched? So I went on line and looked for different lighting and started a chat conversation, and they just kept responding with "Return items responses" This kind of customer service is terrible. Came here for light bulbs for our chandelier in the dining room since almost all places are mainly selling LEDs it getting tougher to find non LED bulbs. Luckily they had a few left here. The lady who helped me was great she was able to find what I was looking for with limited info since I only had the package of the bulbs which was from a few years ago so of course it was outdated. Not a lamp purchase, but an example of exceptional customer service. We have a lamp (not purchased from LP) that had its bulb socket wiring fry and needed to be replaced. The socket is silver colored to match the lamp itself. Guess what? Home Depot and Lowes only sell gold ones! I went into LP, was greeted by Bambi, who discovered that their spare parts also were only gold. She directed a service tech to "go in the back and find one" (which I'm pretty sure is code for "dissemble a for-sale lamp that DOES have a silver socket"), and gave it to me for no charge because I had to stand around for all of five minutes. Place is great with a large variety. I visited on 2/24 at approximately 5:30 pm. Sales associate 007796 was very helpful and courteous. She was a black woman and also a black young man was friendly and very helpful. I had a problem with another woman behind the register who appeared to be sick. I first approached the counter and she ignored me. She was writing some information on a form. I stood there for about 30 seconds until the black woman asked me how she can help me. I walked over to the first register and said I will help you because she seems to be busy. At this time the sick woman looked up and said, " Oh yeah." She didn't apologize. This rating is so high because one employee, Mencleck saved the day. I walked in with a broken shade from a vintage lamp and an oversized light bulb I had never seen before. I was about to go and look around for two ceiling fans, but was discouraged by the person who greeted me, who ushered me to the front counter for help. She let me know the store doesn't carry shades like the one I needed. I tried to explain I wanted to look around first in case I wanted to buy something. Instead, I decided to just see about the replacements I needed. Mencleck was so helpful! He heard me. Valued my patronage. He knew the exact name of the weird lightbulb I was looking for and helped an associate find one. Then, he went into the store room and came out a few minutes later with a vintage looking shade that would work perfectly. He said, 'oh, we have lots of one-offs from other lamps. We were considering ordering a fan online from another retailer, but we're old school and wanted to see if we could see something we liked up close. This store is huge, and has a nice selection of fans. Dave approached us with a friendly smile, and was so eager to settle a difference of opinion between the hubby and I regarding different bulb colors for a fan that he got down on the floor in his back to screw a sample bulb into a different light fixture!! He also pulled up the fan we originally liked, and it was considerably more ornate than want we wanted. The fan we ended up with was the right size, the right decoration for our bedroom, and much less than we were expecting to pay! The icing on the cake though was Dave's customer service. We were paired with Mencleck to help us look at the different shades and they were extremely helpful and patient, as we were asking lots of questions and ultimately decided to come back with the lamps to see the shades available with them. For years, I've known that Lamps Plus exists at this location. However, I never had a need to go until now. While remodeling my kitchen and dining area, I have been looking for lights and a ceiling fan. Came here with my mom and we were both overwhelmed. Lights, lights, and more lights!! There's small lights, big lights, floor and ceiling lamps, track and pendant lights, lamps and shades, wall sconces, chandeliers, ceiling fans, and even mirrors. Two downfalls... 1) Clearly, employees work on commission. They follow you around and comment on everything you look at. I don't like that. And I certainly don't feel obligated to buy anything so oh well... 2) Prices are ridiculously high. I saw several lights/lamps/ceiling fans that Lowe's carries. Prices at Lamps Plus were more than double the price at Lowe's. In this case, I don't know if the saying "you get what you pay for" applies. Needless to say, there is beautiful lighting and fixtures here for someone who doesn't mind paying ridiculously high prices. But, I won't be coming back. read more

While scouting out a couple of new ceiling fans, the frustration of not finding exactly what we wanted was becoming a nightmare. Driving north on Hawthorne Blvd I spotted Lamps Plus. Previously, I was told they did not carry the type of fans I was looking for, however, they were online at Lamps Plus so perhaps now they are also in the store. Meeting Devyn turned out to be the best part of my day ! She was the first person I saw when I walked in. Devyn is a decorator and she instantly knew what we wanted, needed and most importantly what would work in our home! Did I mention that Devyn is extremely efficient? Not only was she able to assist me in my choices, she was also assisting other customers at the same time on the other side of the store and none of us felt slighted! Devyn's expertise, efficiency and knowledge made for a quick decision on 2 beautiful ceiling fans. The added bonus is that Devyn is also a very nice person :) read more

Wanted to give this location a five star rating. I was helped specifically by the salesperson Alicia but I will say everyone I spoke with was helpful and friendly. They helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and were able to point out the different options that fit my specific situation. I purchased it, and when I found out it didn't work for my space (due to issues with the space, not the product), I was able to return the product to the location incredibly quickly and easily, probably the easiest return I've ever done.
