We were going to drive to NC and pick one, but when I learned they were set up 10 minutes from our home, we rushed over. We went on a Saturday the weekend after Thanksgiving, and as we pulled in a truck full of fresh trees pulled in behind us. The operation was efficient; one guy gave them a fresh cut, one guy ran a post through the base, and another set them out. All of the guys working there were in their late teens or early 20's, and were super helpful - they even wrapped the tree and loaded it into my truck. We've had our tree up for almost 4 weeks and it still looks as healthy as the day we picked it out. I can't recommend Sugar Mountain Trees enough!

Parking is ample and they provide instructions upon arrival along with a map of where the different types of trees are located. This is a great tree farm to bring the family and they even have free hay rides (and hot chocolate and coffee!)! I'm currently enjoying the Frasier fir we got from them, but I am already excited for next year's tree from Hollow Creek! Highly recommend a trip to Gilbert, SC for a high quality tree.

They did bait me with a "20% off my entire purchase" coupon though. So I guess we are both guilty parties here. All jokes aside, I did kind of go in just to look around and left with 2 candles, 6 spoons, and 2 frying pans. The sales associates were officious and constantly trying to upsell items. I don't think they work for commission, but they really could have fooled me. Sofia, the associate helping me, sold the crap out of their frying pans and convinced me to buy 2. To be fair, she didn't really have to twist my arm. I have a soft spot for kitchenware. However, I wanted one that was bigger than the one they had in store. Luckily for me, not really because I have no money, she ordered it online, and let me use my 20% off coupon in store and online.
