KARMA!
The last time I visited this store I was very disappointed to discover that it was not a Christmas store although it is Christmas Tree Shops. It was August and I had a one-track mind thinking that I was entering a mini Bronners, (year-round Christmas store). Later I wrote a review and I made a comment about false advertising but I did not mean that to be taken literally but more in jest. I later received a message from customer relations to simply explain the store. Okay, cool! It was actually appreciated although I was not harboring any evil thoughts at the time. Since the response was so kind and gracious, I had planned to revisit the store with an open mind and hopefully have a better experience.
Weeks later, I received a message from a fellow Yelper regarding the review. She was very nice and simply wanted me to know more about the store and what it had to offer. So now I'm thinking "Did I kick a puppy?" I go back to read the review and I realize that my tone is a bit acerbic and if I did not know me, I might have thought that it was really serious and that the reviewer was an angry beast. That's when I edited the review to let reviewers know that there weren't any negative feelings and that it was not that serious. Although I did not kick a puppy, I obviously stepped on its tail and now I am back to make it better, (Woo, woo, woo, woo!).
When I prepared to enter the store today, it was with an open mind and an understanding that this store is about more than just Christmas. So, I just want to see more of their inventory. I walk in and guess what I see? Christmas everywhere! Okay, this must be Karma because I am definitely not interested in anything for Christmas. I shop around for a while and purchase some snacks because I am really craving a little treat.
I then discover the card section and decide to purchase a few. I really enjoy stocking up on greeting cards and having them available when I suddenly need to send one to a friend or loved one. They had a nice selection for every occasion.
Check-out was polite and easy. All was well until Karma reared its ugly head. Those little cookies that I was dying to get into had fallen into the bottom of my cart and I did not notice them until I tried to park it. They had not been purchased so I had to just leave them behind. Ugggghhhh!
Lesson learned: Be nice to the Christmas store! read more
