For those anticipating surgery, I offer the following for consideration. Please view pictures of breast augmentation in January 2017 by Dr Christopher C Chang. The first picture is the incision opening with implant/stratus exposure. The second shows where Dr Chang's partner, Dr Dufresne, re-sutured the opening and told me I was okay to leave on vacation (which was out of the country) the next day. The sutures did not hold and the incision reopened while out of the country. Unsure of what to do (and without easy medical access) I applied large amounts of Bacitracin and gauze on the opened incision (eviscerated breast tissue) and supported the breast in a tight sports bra. Immediatedly upon my return, I called Dr Chang, who appeared irritated, stating it was his day off; however he agreed to meet me at his office that day. I met Dr Chang at his office to examine the incision - it was there I learned the previous closure of the incision by Dr Dufresne was more than skin involvement, but that the breast implant was actually exposed at that time. Dr Chang stated the breast implant had been exposed for several days and the main objective now was to keep me from getting an infection. He proposed cleaning the incision and breast implant with Betadine and resuturing the incision there in his office. I asked to go back to the hospital where the initial surgery was performed. Dr Chang was reluctant stating the main objective was to keep me from getting an infection and he would repair the breast cosmetically at a later date. Picture 3 shows the 'repair' several weeks later when Dr Chang removed the bolster - note not only the appearance, but the resulting pressure ulcers from the bolster. Over the following months, Dr Chang seemed at a loss as to how to make this ordeal right regularly stating 'you were lucky you didn't end up septic in the ICU.' To me, he seemed to forget I was a patient who came to him for a cosmetic procedure and trusted him for the optimum outcome which he promised. I even complied with his decisions during this recovery. He failed to acknowledge this fact, as well as the pain I had suffered, a ruined vacation, lost time from work/wages, numerous postoperative visits (which would have not been necessary under normal/ideal circumstances) and the mere fact that this, and the ending result, is not what one expects from a cosmetic procedure - see remaining pictures. So, yes, I had to undergo the expense of another surgery (by a physician who specializes in breast reconstruction for cancer patients), another recovery/pain, additional lost time from work/wages, along with all the risks of surgery and anesthesia, all to correct Dr Chang's previous surgery. Oh, just an FYI, even after almost 7 years, I could never begin to explain the toll this has taken on my sense of self and the person I once was, nor the emotional scars left behind. And to be clear, I have never received any compensation or refund of any kind, much less an apology, from Dr Christopher Chang. read more

THANK YOU DR CHANG AND STAFF: After breast feeding my second baby eighteen years ago, myself confidence hit a all time low because my breasts sagged badly. I no longer felt sexy and became very self conscious about my appearance and would only wear conservative, non sexy clothing. I weren't able to express myself through fashion as gravity often step in causing wardrobe malfunction as my breasts would often find themselves out of the bra. After years of contemplating breast augmentation and to remove the bags under my eyes. At the end of my consultation, I felt I was making an informed decision and that Dr Chang was the person I would trust to carry out the procedure. He educated me of the pros and cons and of any possible risks involved. The office offered excellent pre and post surgery care and guidance. On the day of my surgery I was greeted by a very pleasant Dr Chang, who went over the final details of my procedure which was reassuring. Following my procedure, Dr Chang kept in frequent contact to check on my progress/recovery and returned my calls immediately, if I had a question. This made my recovery after the procedure manageable. When I first, saw my 'identical twins', I almost dropped; the babies looked so beautiful and prefect. My confidence hit the roof; I felt like twenty one again Love themmmmmm and my baby love them even more. He said "Dr Chang is a miracle worker, a crafty artist, to rejuvenate those boobs back to twenty-one. It's takes a special kind of doctor and that's Dr Chang". The bags are gone. it's as if they were never there and my eyes look youthful again. I am so pleased with the results of Dr Chang's handy work. I am the happiest I have been for years. I'm wearing all the sexy clothes, I was too self conscious to wear and now walks with my head high and in style. I am so happy!!!!!! Updates since the last review: 1. After the review was posted on yelp, Dr. Chang immediately canceled my daughter's consultation appointment for Feb 23th in his side and stated that I left a negative review on yelp, he did not think that he could proceed anymore. 2. After reading Dr. Chang' belligerent response, we found out that he also included my daughter's (his patient) personal identifying information in the response to a negative review. My daughter emailed him and asked him why he included her personal (patient) information on a public site. Dr. Chang replied: "please let your mother know if she removes the review, the reply goes with it. It is in her control." After some discussion with him, he did agree to remove the patient information from his response - after the confidential patient information was exposed for over 12 hours without remediation. 3. I did speak to his front desk twice that day(the receptionist asked me to call back to confirm the appointment date). I only spoke to his manger, Amy, once at same day. However Amy believed that my inquiry was inappropriate and fell into a category of 'customer abuse', and that's the reason that she thinks that I deserved the way how she treated me. 4. We did not use 'Squeezing her in' as an excuse to occupy other patients' time. We had experience with other patients cancelling appointments, or doctor's schedule changing and so on --those would sometimes free up earlier appointments--His office once 'squeezed my daughter in' on 5th of Feb instead of 23th. This is common practice in all other medical offices, and we have never been told that we were taking away from other patient's time. We have a legitimate complaint about the service, and instead of trying to work it out, Dr. Chang chose to 'fight'.-- To be honest, this was the only negative review that I have posted in my lifetime. Dr. Chang's belligerent response does not show well for his professionalism. Good luck with this practice - I hope Dr. Chang can endure more honest reviews (opinions) from his customers in the future, and learn to show them some empathy-- He would win the respect from them. read more

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincerest gratitude and complete satisfaction with my experience with Dr. Chang and his staff. I'm a male in my early 30's and came to the uneasy realization that I was starting to succumb to signs of male pattern baldness. This was very difficult for me to accept and was compounded by feelings of insecurity and other similar emotions. I had taken average initial measures with over-the-counter products such as supplements and solutions but all efforts were of little or no avail. It has only been a short period following my procedure and I can already see significant results, well beyond my expectations, and look forward to even more of a result over time. I want to give Dr. Chang and his staff a shout-out for the amazing work they have done for me. I was first referred to Dr. Chang by a good friend of mine as he was highly recommended. I had been considering having a breast augmentation for several years, so when I heard they were hosting a meet-and-greet with the doctors at their Fairfax office, I knew I had to attend. After meeting with Dr. Chang and the staff, I knew I was ready to set up an official consultation! At the consultation, both Dr. Chang and his nurse were a wealth of knowledge. They both made me feel extremely comfortable and I felt confident in their hands. When I decided to proceed, I came in for my pre-op appointment where I then tried on different implant sizes to determine what would be the best fit for my body. We decided that 275 ccs would be perfect for me since I am petite. The day of surgery, I was a little nervous but also very excited. Everyone at the hospital was very attentive and had remarkable bedside manners. When I came out of surgery, I had no pain and no discomfort. I felt slight pressure, which was to be expected, but overall I was surprisingly very comfortable. After surgery, I began my "24-hour recovery". A few hours after being home and resting, Dr. Chang called to check up on me, which I thought, "wow what a thoughtful doctor!" The very next day I went out to lunch with my friend and walked around the mosaic without any discomfort. I never once had to take any pain medicine as I didn't feel it was needed. The healing process took no time at all, and I was back to work within a few days. I am so in love with my results and my confidence has skyrocketed! I was born with a weaker eye muscle in my left eye. It never bothered me until I got into my teen age years and now even more in my adulthood. I strategically took all my pictures sideways, and the more time progressed, the weaker my eye muscle became. I would delete every picture looking forward or facing the camera. In this modern era of Instagram and Snapchat, my eye size difference was becoming more obvious than ever, and trust me, no filter could ever fix that. I tried. With time, and now at 50 years of age, the left eye has become even smaller, as gravity has also played a role in my eye shape and face. I finally decided to do something about it. I decided to fix my eye once and for all. I was scared and apprehensive, after all, this is my eye and my face. I never did anything to my face in the past at all. What if it hurt? or didn't change my eyes? Or my eye sight damaged? I had my initial consultation for a ptosis repair with Dr. CHANG, and I immediately knew I made the right choice. If I could give 100 stars, I would give it to Dr. Chang and his staff. I've been following Dr. Chang's work for over a year when deciding to have my implant exchange done with him. Dr. Chang goes out of his way to make sure all your questions are answered. Even with such a busy schedule, he will do follow-ups to make sure everything is good. His staff are always so caring and pay attention to every detail. All the people they see daily and they can still ask how did ------ go? Or bring up something that was talked about a month ago. Mursal helped me with my appointments and called care credit when I needed the extra help. Mursal kept me informed too on what was going on. Also, I have to add that she is so sweet! Dr. Change has a fantastic nurse named Kelley that will help keep you calm when you're nervous. She is so caring and kind, definitely above and beyond when it comes to caring. My experience from start to finish and now has been nothing but a positive and pleasant experience. The cost of my procedure is reasonable. Once everything is done, though, you feel you got more than you paid for. Not only do I feel and look better, but when I say Dr. Chang and his fantastic staff go above and beyond, they go above and beyond. Our recent experience with Dr. Chang was outstanding. He performed an otoplasty on our 6 year old son and exceeded our expectations professionally and personally. Upon meeting Dr. Chang we immediately felt at easy about making what, we felt like, was a very difficult decision. He was attentive, informative, and never made us feel rushed during our consultation with detailed explanation of the procedure and levels of healing. At the hospital Dr. Chang made all of us feel calm and comfortable before surgery. We were updated during the 2 hour procedure. Immediately following the surgery, Dr. Chang summarized the surgical procedure and showed us pictures of the results (that would be bandaged when we saw our son in recovery). Words cannot describe how happy I am with the work Dr. Chang (and his team) did on my nose. I been wanting my nose done since 2012 and I finally took the step in the RIGHT direction! I received an injury to my face that left me heartbroken and desperate to find the best plastic surgeon to repair it with minimal long-term damage and scarring. I am so glad I found Dr. Chang. I got a rhinoplasty/septoplasty done with Dr. Chang on Monday, Feb. 1st so I am only about a week and half out post-op but I am SO happy with the entire process and experience I have had with Dr. Chang and the entire staff at Congressional Plastic Surgery. I LOVE Dr Chang! I went to him to see if he could do something about my eye hollows (genetic) and he spent the entire first meeting talking me through my options and giving me advice (never pressured me). I left to do some more research, but eventually came back. He was incredibly attentive, I never once felt rushed and he always made me feel like I mattered. The procedure was done in 20 minutes, barely any touch of pain and the results are amazing. I just went back for a retouch and he gave me great advice again (i.e. told me not to over do it and made a recommendation for something I could do instead). His advice is spot on, see pictures for proof! First one is before anything (I took this as a snap from his iPad so please don't mind the weird lines, it was actually worse in person) and the second is right after the second touch up (no bleeding, no marks, no pain!), neither are edited and I'm so proud of how Dr. Chang made me look! read more

My almost 6 month daughter has plagiocephaly so we met with Dr. Chang for his opinion and expertise. He gave us his undivided attention during our consultation. After the consult, he gave me his business card and said I could contact him if I had further questions. Of course, I had more questions so I emailed him that night and he emailed me back within 45 minutes! I REALLY appreciate individuals who are responsive to my concerns and questions via email or phone. I have seen many different doctors over the year (ob-gyns, pediatricians, specialists, etc.) and I have never had such great follow-up as I did with Dr. Chang. When I had a question about insurance, he followed up with that issue immediately as well since his office manager was out of the office. Such a fantastic experience! First I was greeted by a lovely front desk staff, who made me feel welcome the second I walked in the door. I was then taken to the procedure room where Nurse Kelly walked me through the whole process and answered any questions I had! She was very patient with all my questions. When Dr. Chang arrived he again went over the process with me and made sure I wasn't nervous about anything. Nurse Kelly was there distracting me from the pinches of the needle .. which were very light because of Dr. Chang's knowledge of the procedure. I left 100% satisfied. I have been meaning to leave this review for a while. I have been going to the practice and seeing Dr. Chang for nearly 4 years now. Is always so friendly and I just have a great experience when I go. The front desk staff is amazing as well. When you call, you actually get a real person and you're not on hold for 15 minutes! I tried to make my daughter an endocrinology appointment and was on hold with a call center for 30 minutes.... During this crazy pandemic time, I have been staring at my face on zoom and FaceTime and I am so appreciative that I can get in and out quickly to do my Botox. I had my breast augmentation with Dr. Chang in November 2018. My experience with him has been great!! So great, that in the unlikely event I have any complications I would still go back to him for a revision! From the first consultation, surgery, and post-op visits, Dr. Chang has been attentive and answered ALL of my questions and addressed my insecurities. I have to admit that I was skeptical about a few things, like the placement of my implants, and choosing the same size implants for both breasts when there was a difference in size pre augmentation.
