It was such a humbling experience because I am an active person and to have to go through ACL surgery and slow down, it was very tough. Dr Woodson is a great Dr. - He has although a horrible office. We always waited a minimum of 1.5 hrs to be seen. We were told that they checked our insurance and we were not responsible for any payment - I have that in writing - and we got a bill for $1370. His staff is very unhelpful and even has an attitude when you ask " why am I still waiting? Dr. Woodson came highly recommended to me after I had seen countless orthopedic doctors who either turned me away or said they couldn't help me. He first tried gel injections and physical therapy, but when those brought little success, he recommended a Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy. Before surgery, I couldn't handle simple daily activities like walking down the stairs or even walking without pain and swelling in my knee. After surgery, I'm now able to work out and run completely pain-free. Most importantly, I can spend time with my kids and keep up with them without worrying that my knee will give out. Waited too long in the office for my appt for 5 mins with the Doctor. Made appt far in advance and PA comes in instead of the doctor. It took me saying several times that I made an appt to see the doctor. The PA was not liking that I spoke up! And I didn't care for her lack of personality and lack of care. When the doctor finally came in 1 hour 15 mins after my appt time, he spent 5 minutes repeating what PA said. Needless to say, I won't be returning. There are way too many choices. Arrogant doctors are not for me. And prior to this, the Xray tech was unfriendly and robotic. Just didn't get a good vibe here. I'm sure he's a good surgeon but when it comes to my health and doctors/doctor's offices, I need great bedside manners, and genuinely nice, empathetic, caring humans. read more

I am a retired teacher. I have taught grades K-6 in my 33 years of service in public education. After retiring, I attended Zumba classes 4 days a week. In 2025, I could not attend classes due to crippling pain in both knees. At 78 years of age, I had to find a solution and it was Dr. Christopher Woodson M. D.,FAAOS Beach Orthopedic Specialty Institute.My first knee replacement was my right knee on June 12,2025. 3 hours after surgery, I got up and walked out of the hospital, got into my car and hubby drove me home. Pain level for the first week on a scale of 1-10 (1 being no pain and 10 means you are in hell) I was at level 2 for 3 days and no pain after the 4 th day. I had my left knee replacement done by the same awesome surgeon on October 30, 2025. I went home 3 hours after surgery. Pain level for the first 3 days was at level 1. Today, January 25, 2026, I can walk 2 miles daily with no cane, walker and NO PAIN! In February, I am contemplating taking exercise classes for mobility and balance at CPRX. My experience at Dr Christopher Woodson's office has been phenomenal. From day one, Dr. Woodson and his office staff members have gone beyond means to treat my knee surgical situation with absolute care and kindness. As I got to know the staff members like Jackie, Leilani, Estella, Allen (Office Manager) every single pre-surgery visit turned out to be a pleasant experience. I also must say a special 'Thank You' to Megan, the medical nurse who was always kind enough to answer and help me out with all the post-surgery questions. I had double knee replacement two years ago, six weeks apart (I'm no spring chicken) and can't tell you how pleased I am with the surgery, recovery and the care that I received from Dr. Woodson and his staff, I even did a 5k walk in January. I don't have a limp, need a cane or walker and have resumed my activities that I enjoyed twenty years ago. Needed to have work done on my shoulder diagnosed with calcific tendinitis waited quite a bit but go; back to the waiting room Megan the PA who is great went one over my x-ray; she Came in with Dr. Woodson he diagnosed me and it was all determined be best to get a Cortizone ; got the shot and it worked great and they were really great with the follow up referral on the physical therapy, after the amazing Megan called me and recommended six weeks twice a week at a rehab center that she went over with me. Everyone was great but Megan was a superstar. This is my husband's second knee replacement surgery. The first one was four years ago at Cedar's Sinai Hospital by Dr. Robert Klapper. This time we opted for a closer hospital and an orthopedic surgeon recommended by another local doctor. Dr. Christopher Woodson has been wonderful. The surgery went well and Dr. Woodson's follow up care is also very good. Prior to my husband's knee surgery, he consulted with Dr. Woodson on a torn rotator cuff. It was decided that he would not need surgery and opted for pain control and physical therapy. He was able to go back to golfing prior to having his knee surgery. The staff are also wonderful, including Estela, Sarah and the rest. You may find yourself waiting up to 2 hours in the waiting room, but that is only because they actually take the time that is needed for each patient. read more

I was referred to Dr Woodson for what turned out to be not just one but two tears one on each side in my meniscus and were causing me great pain and swelling. It took almost a month to get the appointment and although I had the MRI showing the tears Dr Woodson was dismissive of my injury only offering a knee injection. After going back and forth I flatly stated I wanted surgery to fix it. To my surprise and almost shock Dr Woodson said to me he was not going to do surgery on my knee. One note, when he was looking at my scan he had said "he didn't see much" and I had to refer him to the accompanying report for him to acknowledge there was a tear but then he dismissed even the report as unimportant. I think he wasn't good enough to understand the scan which was my first red flag that it would be scary having him operate on my knee. When he refused to do the surgery I think it was out of incompetence and as I raised my concerns he became defensive and quite combative. Seeing this develop as such I stood up thanked him, shook hands and left. I have since had an amazing experience with another doctor, Dr. Wong who quickly pointed out the tear on the scan to me and actually found another smaller one on the other side. He did the arthroscopy and fixed those and was able to clean out the arthritis and scar tissue I had from a previous operation. My knee is feeling ALOT MORE SOLID now and I am so glad that Dr Wong and his team were able to fix me. In short I definitely don't recommend Dr Woodson unless you just want to get knee injections. read more

Well, i was SO right in choosing Beach Ortho and Dr Woodson to fix my knee! From the scheduling to the hospital to the transport people who rolled me to the car after the operation, I couldn't be happier!!! If you can't run to their office, I highly suggest you get there any way you can and they'll have you running before you even know it!!! Original review: This is MY orthopedic surgeon!! I researched him everywhere I could think of and found that he has every box checked on my "must have" list! He is well educated and I couldn't find one complaint or issue with med boards. His staff is helpful, competent and professional. Especially Estella, who has gone above the call of duty again and again trying to get me scheduled. Obviously she truly cares. After experiencing very painful locking of my right knee on several occasions and an unsuccessful attempt by another orthopedic surgeon to help, it was suggested that I should consult Dr. Woodson. The problem was accurately diagnosed and followed by surgery to repair a badly torn meniscus, which took place three weeks ago and I am glad to be rid of the brace, to be taking walks, shopping and driving again. It has been an amazing recovery. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Woodson's surgical skills, his office staff, The Prime Surgery Center which was immaculately clean. My husband showed up 10 min before his scheduled consultation and he was yelled at by the receptionist that he has to wait and that he's too early. My husband said, "I figured since I'm a new patient, I may have forms to fill out" the receptionist continued to yell at him to wait in the hallway. I've worked in medical settings for over 25 years, this is by far the worse welcoming or unwelcoming to greet a new patient. Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint with our insurance company and hopefully the staff manager will teach the receptionist a better friendlier way to greet patients, rather than berate them. I doubt you'd enjoy your loved ones be treated poorly in any medical setting. read more

Dr. Woodson and his staff are incredibly thorough and attentive. The office staff is thoughtful and the physicians assistants take the time to make sure all your questions get answered. There is no Wi-Fi available in the waiting room & office so bring a book or something to occupy your wait time. He is a top notch surgeon with an excellent bedside manner before, during and after surgery (if that is the course you take). He offers the best solutions and explains ailments in a way that they are easily understood. I highly recommend him and his staff. He repaired my torn rotator cuff in August 2021 and is doing a full knee replacement surgery in January 2022. I had a few issues at this facility . For one the front staff was rude and unprofessional. Second I didn't like the fact that I waited for almost a month to see Dr. Woodson, and I end up with his PA for 99% of the consultation. Well I disagreed with the PA"s diagnosis, based on the fact that I had no MRIs to support what she was saying. Nor other test. It was my first visit. The PA walks out of the room and I overheard her telling Dr. Woodson what she felt my diagnosis was, and that I disagreed with her diagnosis. Dr. Woodson walked in the room and literally repeated what his PA had discussed. He was totally willing to give me a diagnosis without looking for himself? It's impossible to have confidence in a doctor when he  doesn't even take the time to examine himself, I certainly cannot recommend him or his office because I wouldn't know his capabilities in the least.  And I'd hate to refer someone to Dr Woodson, knowing they probably won't see him but rather they'll become the PA's patient. Dr. Woodson recommended a procedure, that was suppose to be scheduled it's been weeks, I haven't heard back from his office, This tells you how much he cares about his patient. The visit was a total waste of my time and money. Feels fraudulent, really. . Not to mention, my shoulder still hurts and now I have to hunt for a new doctor. He did a fantastic job my knee feels stable and strong. Dr. Woodson made me feel very comfortable during every visit. I never had that rushed feeling during my visits. As far as the office staff. They are top notch. Always very proffessional and polite. I cant say enough about them. They return calls promptly and always had the answer to my questions. Dr. Woodson did a total hip replacement on my mom which unfortunately went wrong. My mom ended up with drop foot. Follow ups were done with Dr. Woodson, each time he said it will get better, continue with physical therapy. After many years of physical therapy it never did. My mom never received a single phone call to check to see how she was doing. We live together I see the pain and daily straggle it breaks my heart. He ruined her life. I truly hope this never happens to anyone. It doesn't give a review less than one, if it did it would be zero. read more
