Checking your insurance only happens Monday to Friday. Not good, I'm paying for a service not knowing if I'm covered. The second reason was that a group your size should have Point of Care lab instruments that are CLIA Waived onsite. PCR results are available within minutes and during an office visit. Check out your competition, I.e. TexasMed Urgent Care. They do, and were able to tell me my insurance wasn't covered by them anymore. I asked can you suggest anyone else, lucky for you they mentioned FastAid. Let's get some POC Confirmatory testing in office and I'll amend my review adding that 5th Star!!

I've been trying to see this in any way that would not make this "ER" look as terrible as it is. I have been unsuccessful. I'll make this as short as possible. My wife went in for severe stomach pain around midnight. She searched ER and this place was closest. They even have an EMERGENCY ROOM sign. She was placed in a room, nurse asked a few questions, then was left alone. A biller or front desk lady came in and said they know what it likely is but needed $800 before they could even say what she was paying for. She took my wife's cc (while shes crying in pain) and left. Card declined 3 times so she came in and asked for another. Baffled as to why an emergency room was holding life saving information hostage behind a paywall, I gave her the address to the actual hospital when she called me asking for $800, in pain, panicking, and sobbing. My wife left and drove to Christus Santa Rosa. There we learned her appendix was about to rupture. She had surgery that same morning. Something we paid for with heartfelt thanks. This Urgent Care let my wife leave without recommending she immediately go to the hospital, or asking if they could call someone, or helping in any way. If they would have done even that much i would not be writing this now. For all they care she could've died in the parking lot. We understand this is a business. They may have improved in the 5 years since this took place but I wont be risking my family here. This is a place you go to when your Dr. is unavailable. This is not a place to go if you're in an actual emergency.

I will preface by saying yes maybe it's my fault we didn't pay enough attention that it was an ER.... However, we were in and out in 20 minutes and out of those 20 minutes she was probably seen for 3-5 of those minutes. She was prescribed an anti-biotic and that's all we were looking for. To my surprise, and again maybe my lack of medical knowledge, they told her what the bill was and I about lost my mind. I won't get into details of the actual amount but let me assure you they bill as a full blown ER and are VERY proud of their service, by far the most expensive 5 minutes of my life. Again, all for a common anti-biotic. Can't blame them fully because maybe it's my fault for not recognizing that this wasn't really a med clinic but I can assure you I'll never make that mistake again and hopefully I can save someone else the pain(no pun intended) in their wallets. You sign in on an old touch screen check in iPad which doesn't even recognize you've touch it. The other one was not in service. Once you sign in you get an email, then you get a text for your code to start doing the paperwork. It was 12pages long. The front desk woman tried to help me but she entered 2 answers yes and no as the answer for an injury and it took me back to the previous page where I had to reenter medical history, meds. It is not voice activated for meds . They should have a a PC that patients can use. I have never paid a copay but charged $20, and my insurance has not changed . I had a 103.5 fever prior to coming to the clinic, but took 600mg Motrin and Mucinex. So I was feeling miserable. If this is the new check In process IT should be forced to go into Texas Med with their mobile phone and fill this out. NOT mobile phone friendly. No sense of triage I'm coughing using tons of Kleenex and they don't try to separate me from people waiting. I would say call before you go, check out the website and enter all your information on your PC. This could have been completing in less than 10 minutes but took 40!With crappy internet. I haven't even seen a medical provider and I'm so disgusted with Texas medclinic lack of making patient lives easier. Texas med do routine checks on your broken dated check in iPads and have them in working order. Have a screen - seating area where pts Who have fever can be separated from others. Understandable but people don't wash their hands and next person who does has fecal material or urine on their hands, no hand sanitizer available I told the MA about the littered waiting room and she did not take any action to clean it . Really disappointed!!! This is a clinic ! Train your employees to have pride that they are responsible for cleanliness of clinic , this is simple medical understanding!!! I've been an RN for 38 years and I would be embarrassed about this condition of my clinic.if you don't have a housekeeper during the day, Give the staff a darn broom dustpans and gloves!!!
