On Friday night, I visited the Schertz-Cibolo emergency clinic due to severe back pain. Upon arrival we were greeted quickly and kindly. The entire staff was helpful, understanding, and patient as I was unable to move quickly. The wait time was minimal and my needs were met with compassion and understanding. I am so grateful for everyone at the clinic including the front staff, nurses, and doctor. The care is excellent and the doctors on staff are very helpful and informative, they also make sure to check every possible reason for why you're there, the facility is clean, new, and has lots of equipment, the only issue is the person who does their IVs every time I go here and get an IV the guy butchers my veins and I'm always bruised afterwards, I know this isn't normal because I've had multiple blood draws all my life, just be cautious of getting an IV here. read more

If I could give a zero I seriously would. Dr. Castillo was my daughter's physician last night and he was rude, very dismissive and completely inaccurate on my daughter's diagnosis and assessment. She had fever hadn't eaten in days and her throat was red super red and painful, she clearly had strep throat and he insisted she was fine sent is home without any treatment. She was wheezing and had stridor and yet he said she had nothing. 3 hours later in the middle of the night my daughter got worse so I took her to another physician who confirmed she had fever and strep throat with a severely raw throat! Disgusted how poor this Physician assessed my daughter! Worst Experience ever! Front staff and nurses were great! Dr. Rayfield is always amazing here and has always done an excellent job! Tonight under this other Physician was a truly awful experience! read more

Omg!!!! I was so sick and didn't even know it!!! I recently stopped into this clinic on my way home from being sick the week prior. Luckily I did because I needed emergency gallbladder surgery. The staff at SCEC helped me out and was there for me when I was alone. Especially Blanca she was great, talked to me and I just felt so taken care of!!! We had an AMAZING experience here!! We took our daughter in to get a couple of stitches and we were seen right away!! The front desk lady Desiree was super nice and helpful!! Our nurses Ashley and Courtney were so kind and caring the entire time helping us and explaining everything to us. Same thing with the doctor that helped us!! Been here before with my granddaughter and had an awesome experience. Went in today and front desk person was so rude asked who my granddaughter was I asked her nicely oh does she need to step outside since only I am seeing the doctor. This woman looked at me like she was looking at a 5yr old. She gave me the most rudest look and didn't answer and just handed me a clip board and said just fill out her name here. I didn't have a problem with any of that but don't talk down to me like I am stupid. I wanted to just walk out but my heart kept saying maybe she is having a bad day it's not your fault but if she is rude again just tell her the truth and walk out. If it wasn't for my ear infection hurting so bad I would have left but I was in a lot of pain. I was even telling her thank you and I can't hear to well due to my pain in both my ears. So as I sat there filling out paperwork I noticed a section that gave an address and phone number to complain and as I am writing this information down the tablet went blank and I told her I don't want to mess anything up so can you please take me back to the page I was on and I guess she realized what I was doing due to where I left off and her attitude changed within minutes she was being nice but a little to late. Well they called me to the back and my granddaughter said grandma I will wait for you in the car. The doctor and staff were wonderful. For those of you wondering well why didn't you go to your primary well those appointments don't come that easy and he is closed on Fridays and last time I waited to long my ear ruptured. But I can truly say I will never ever go back there again. I did customer service for 25 yrs and I would never think of treating someone like that. Like I used to tell the people I supervised whatever moods you all have leave it at the door. I Pray she has a better day tomorrow . Two stars are for the people in the back who were nice and professional. And for the front desk employees we pay you,you don't pay us please remember that when people come in asking for help because it's easy to walk away when you act like that. I have always liked going to this clinic and had positive experiences, so I was very surprised that last week's care was disappointing. I went in Friday for severe throat pain and swelling. Front office personnel were helpful and got triaged which was fine. They did swab me to check for strep and the nurse that saw my throat said that it was pretty bad. When the Dr came in, he stated that the test was negative but never even examined or assessed me. I left with only Tylenol and Naproxen for pain which did not help at all. I was told to come back but try and give it a week. Well I did go back to see a Dr elsewhere. On Sunday I saw an urgent care Dr in Cibolo who actually examined me and stated regardless of the test she was going to treat my sickness aggressively. I got a steroid shot and antibiotics. It was strep but wanted to evaluate me again the next day or 2 for an abscess. I went back and she wasn't happy with the progress so I was sent to BAMC emergency room for further evaluation. There they found the abscess, drained and lanced it and put me on a week steroids with antibiotics. When do Drs stop listening or examining patients? Please stop looking at just test results as just your evaluation of what you think is wrong. Tests don't show the whole picture some times. This may have be found sooner had someone just stopped and looked. This could have been a different outcome. Thank you Urgent Care team for treating and listening to me. I'm home with 2 days rest and missed all week from work. Stop, look and listen to your patients is all I ask. read more

I came here a couple of weeks ago because I had been feeling punk for a few days, and it hurt to breathe. I was seen immediately after filling out the paperwork and only waited about 5 minutes for a doctor, and she listened to my chest and said I needed to head to the ER. It turns out I had bronchitis after a chest x-ray was read. So, I'm definitely glad I went and was feeling better within 3-4 days. read more

William Gibson is by far the worst doctor I've ever seen in my life. He is very inconsiderate and heartless of the patients that come in. I came in with my husband on Christmas Day because we both have been feeling sick. We saw Dr. John Rayfield and he was very nice and took care of my husband because he was worse than I was. I went back two days later because I have gotten worse. My neck is swollen, I'm coughing up bloody and green mucus and Dr. Gibson said he won't give me medicine for something that is viral along with some other distasteful remarks. He should not be working there. Doctors are supposed to comfort you and and take your needs seriously. He should be ashamed of himself. Awful human being. read more

Not a good experience, I took my mom there she had stomach pain headache nausea! Some kid came to the room asking questions about her medication ,he didn't know what is metformin ???? Really !!! Then another girl took her blood pressure like 3times ! You could tell she was nervous! At the end the showed up asking more question ! Then left . A nurse came (the only one who apparently knows what he's doing! Gave something to drink to my mom ,he said it would make her throat numb ,my mom threw up everything,she started to feel worse ! Then he came back and put pantropazol in IV. Until today my mom still sick ! They charged her $150dls and her insurance said she was supposed pay &75dls copay . Charging $63 for an ER visit for Covid test that is free. Then waste your time the doctor writes on discharge papers to return in three days to restart and it will be covered under the same visit then the front desk clerk states there will be another charge and my insurance will not cover another test. The test are supposed to be free. Waste of time due to misinformation and lack of job knowledge. read more

I have been to The Schertz-Cibolo Emergency Clinic several times in the past, and I have been pleased each time. My recent visit on 3/18/23 was no exception. i was seen immediately by the nurses for my severe congestion and coughing that I was experiencing for the past 5 days. They tested me for Covid-19 and the FLU, which were negative. Because I was so congested Dr. Friedrich ordered a chest X-ray and gave me some liquid prednisone and a breathing treatment, which brought me some immediate relief. I will now begin taking the medicine prescribed, and I should begin to recover from my severe congestion. I'm so glad that I chose to come to this emergency clinic instead of lying in bed at home suffering with all the congestion that could have turned into pneumonia, if left untreated. I would recommend this emergency clinic to anyone, as their staff and emergency room doctors are truly outstanding. An added advantage was that this emergency room clinic was very near my home; and I did not have to wait hours to see a doctor, as it was in the past when I went to the Northeast Methodist hospital emergency room. This clinic is the best place to go if you don't have insurance. It was very affordable for what I had done. I actually prefer this place over the other ERs I have been to in the past. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and makes sure you are comfortable in every way possible. The nurse I had was sweet and actually went into thorough detail when she was going over the discharge papers with me. My first visit was exceptional and I will definitely return. I was feeling under the weather and needed to feel well soon due to my job. When I first walked in I was greeted by Michelle at the front desk. I was asking about pricing because I do not like to be surprised. She was upfront and very helpful. I truly appreciated not having to wait an hour or more and being surrounded by sick and contagious people. Some people might not realize but being in that environment can make you sicker or develop a new diagnosis. My nurse was Selina and she was very personable. We talked a bit and went over my symptoms. My doctor was Dr.Gibson and he had great bed side manner. He listened to me about my symptoms and gave me an aggressive treatment. Being in the healthcare profession I can attest to the professionalism and treatment by the employees. I did not feel rushed and felt heard. Many people complain that doctors and staff treat them like cattle and rush them in and out. Keep in mind that this place is an emergency center and not an urgent care. If you cut something off, or think you're gonna die. Try to wait til the morning. Because the night shift doesn't care. If I could rate the Day shift and Dr Gibson only, it'd be a 5 start EASY! He and everyone during my visit were amazing. I could tell they wanted to help me, and didn't want to let me leave until they were confident I was ok. The night shift on the other hand, couldn't have cared less how much pain I was in. They all had bad attitudes, the front desk lady literally laughed at my wife when she asked for a wheelchair because I couldn't walk, and then the male nurse acted like I was faking my pain or like I should just toughen up and get over it. They gave me a pain pill and told me to call my ride before I could even swallow it. Day shift, the best. 5 stars all day long. The night shift needs to be in a different profession cause they don't care about people. read more

My daughter was caught between our protective dog and a friend's rambunctious dog. She had puncture wounds and a big gash up and down her arm. A friend recommended this clinic, and it's quite a drive from my house, but I didn't want to take her to a huge emergency room, so I decided to drive her to this practice! What an excellent decision! My grandfather was my physician growing up, so my standard of care is quite high! I can tell you that there a few times that I've been blown away by patient care, and this one of of the exceptions. Within a few days, my daughter's wounds became infected (cellulitis) and that's when this practice really showed their level of commitment to patient care. They doted on her and made sure she was comfortable, safe, and out of danger, without charging up my account with needless tests and procedures. I can't say enough about this practice, staff and Dr. Rayfield! No one wants to visit an emergency clinic, but if you are in need, you won't find a more compassionate group of dedicated professionals. I wholeheartedly recommend this amazing clinic! read more

we visited this clinic in the on 5/18 in the evening with serious foot/ankle pain. One of the office staff met us curb site and without hesitation, assisted my wife getting inside. Once inside, the staff was excellent and professional. the wait was not even 10 minutes before going to the back in a room. Ex-ray's were taking and after Dr. Rayfield reviewed them, diagnosed the problem as possible a vascular issue; the swelling was thought to be mainly water. Dr was SPOT ON ! ! The next day, we made an appointment with A vascular Surgeon and was seen on Monday. Diagnose -- water retention. the doctor prescribed a new water pill, the old pills had stop having any effect. 7 days later, all is well. . . This clinic ant it's staff are exceptional, and extremely profession. This is the second time in a couple years that we have visited this clinic and will continue to as needed. read more

I stepped on an asp in my yard and since I am allergic to bee stings we felt it was a good idea to seek emergency care. It was after 6:00 on a Friday. We received immediate attention that was excellent. The doctor and his staff were very knowledgeable about the sting and helped ease the pain in very short time. This was our second visit to the clinic. Our first experience was also excellent. I would highly recommend the doctor and his staff. The facility is very clean and welcoming. If I could put zero stars I would. The facility is very nice and I thought the staff was too until the two nurses tending to me became a little too nice. I am a 21 year old female and I went into this clinic with my other 21 year old friend who is also female and the male nurses were making very inappropriate comments that made us both feel very uncomfortable. I was already sick so having 50 something year old male nurses and not just one of them but both of them making sexual comments at us made me feel even worse. I will be contacting this place and reporting the two nurses who made these remarks and hopefully something is done. God forbid a young girl goes there by herself especially for something that could be a uncomfortable matter. I will never be visiting this place again. I came in for an ear infection and somehow they couldn't stop making obscene comments that had nothing to do with the reason I was there. It made me nervous and scared that they were possibly going to do something to me because it was 1 in the morning so they were the only two nurses in the place.
