The kid that made our tacos seemed to have just been hired and then thrown on the line with no training. Proportions were way off. I told him I wanted two shrimp tacos, he gave me one. I was reluctant to try this place with hearing several bad reviews from local peeps. But I love tacos, so I gave it a try. My opinion is the food is pretty decent. My favorite is the chicken bowl. Foods decent enough to come back and try it again. I've had them 3 times now and haven't been disappointed. My husband got a, al pastor bowl and he didn't like the taste of the meat because it has a heavy pineapple flavor. I took his uneaten (hubby literally only had one bite) bowl back and explained to the manager and he was happy to replace it for me. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Place is clean. I've been to quite a few Chronic Tacos in Southern California, and this little gas station in the middle of nowhere is the best one I have ever been to. Usually the carne asada has a few bad bites, but this one didn't have an ounce of fat on it. Portions were good too. Not many places to sit and eat, but it's not their fault. We have been coming here for quite a while. Today we went there and you can no longer watch your food being made or select what you want on it. They are requiring customers to order and pay first. They require you to select a certain pre made list of ingredients now. This is a terrible way to run this type of restaurant. Now it takes much longer to get your food. Many unhappy customers in line. Won't be back till they change it back. read more

GPS directs you to Star Bucks instead of Chronic Tacos. The staff were friendly but food was tastless. I had the barbacoa bowl with rice and beans. The meat had no flavor. I'm a huge fan of Chronic Tacos, my favorite is the Long Beach location. I've tried the Hesperia location twice now and have gotten different items. both times the white rice was very hard, either under cooked or left over. Other than the rice, the food has been great. Soooo happy to have a Chronic in the high desert! Even happier that they have amazing Beyond meat! Cooked fresh and he offered to add onions and seasonings. Yum. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable about vegan options. The white rice is vegan, the spanish rice has chicken broth. All beans are vegan as they don't cook with lard. I had tried Chronic Taco for the first time when I was in Vegas about month ago. I was staying at the Palms Place Penthouses and the casino to the regular palms hotel is connected to it . One night my girlfriend an I ventured off into the casino to find the food court and that's how I stumbled across this GEM. Fast forward I'm now back home in California Dying to have some more and BEHOLD! Yelp Ofcourse informs me there is one 5 miles away from me. Me and my husband go and get chronic fries and potato tacos which were FRESH and TASTEY AS HELL ! The girl who was serving us was amazing wish I could remember her name. However she was training a new girl who was social awkward. Hopefully she gets that together it made us really uncomfortable. All in all it was a great experience ! We Exited the 15 FWY at Ranchero Rd (Hesperia) on our Way to Mom's House and saw signs at a Gas Station "Fat Burger" & "Chronic Tacos" (Inside the Gas Station) Sooooooo Being a FatB Guy We stopped, We asked for FatBurger but the Counter Guy said It wasn't open yet (maybe by End Of Summer??)... So we went to Chronic Tacos (Also I Side Gas Station) and told the Young Lady At the Counter that we were first timers, She gave us a Great Explanation Of how Chronic Tacos Works... She was Extra Friendly and Informative with us 1st Timers. I picked a Two Taco Combo (Asada & Al Pastor , Rice & Frijoles) and a Side Potato Taco. Wife had a "Burrito Bowl)... Everything was Fresh & Delicious. Second young lady behind the Counter was also very helpful. Price was very reasonable for the (Big) Amount Of Food. PS the Gas Station also has a "Thrifty" Ice Cream Counter (OMG)...... Can't wait for our Next Visit to Mom's read more
