We learned about Taqueria Los Potrillos in Hesperia because we've been to the Rancho Cucamonga location before and had a good experience there, so we were excited to try this one. The food itself was good and the flavors were definitely there, which honestly makes this even more disappointing to write. What really bothered us was how many basic ingredients are considered "extras." I ordered a torta and found out that beans, avocado, and cheese all cost extra. At most Mexican restaurants, those are pretty standard ingredients that are already included, especially in something like a torta. The same thing applies to the burritos. Cheese is extra, sour cream is extra -- it feels like almost everything beyond the meat and tortilla comes with an added charge. By the time you add the ingredients that most places normally include, the price goes up quite a bit. We understand restaurants have rising costs, but this felt more like nickel-and-diming customers than simply adjusting menu prices. It's unfortunate because the food was actually good, but the constant add-ons took away from the experience. Sadly, because of that, we probably won't be coming back. One star because we actually like the food. But if it is too expensive to come back, sorry but we can't leave a better review. read more

The employees are so sweet and so kind. I had a great experience for our first time . My son just wanted aqua Fresca so we each got one and a cheese quesadilla. As we are walking out we are noticing lots of staring and one guy looking right at me shaking his head ... I felt racism for sure.. he got up and said "I'm getting a milk shake" must've heard how I told my son his drink was so good like a strawberry milkshake.. I'm white, my son is Hispanic/White.. idk what the problem with the customers there are but might think twice about going in there if I get vibes like that again. The food is all right not anything that I woke up craving the next day. The line cooks that take your order. Don't listen very well. They're in such a big hurry. I get it. It's dinner time and there is line but it's a little bit pricey for a fast food location so listen at least to people and ask questions. Because when you don't you end up having a remake someone's meal, it didn't save you any time. I moved here a little over a year ago and I'm still looking for a good Mexican food. I used to live in Chino and I guess I'm a little bit spoiled. I don't think there's much of an ambience. Meh place was just ok the asada was dry and flavorless, the beans and rice were good and one of the salsas. I agree with a previous review that they do charge extra for cheese sour cream guac etc.. things that are usually included. To add all these it would be a $20 burrito. oh and the guac was completely flavorless. Don't ways your money. The pastor was good and the strawberry banana Fresca was bomb. I really liked their red salsa. I would come back here only to try the birria which looked good. Just mid nothing special. read more

Made a purchase. They had a young kid in the kitchen/ with not enough experience. In one of my orders I ordered 2 asada and one chicken taco. The kitchen cook kid mixed different meats on my tacos. Very unprofessional. Went back the next day and show them how they gave me the Taco's. Which the manager was kind enough to give me the correct order the next day.. but the issue is having untrained kitchen personnel allow doing this kind of sloppy serving... This place has good tacos but the service is in desperate need of help. We waited in line for 30 minutes and no one came near to take the order. Another family was ahead of us and the just gave up because nobody was taking orders. The employees were definitely working but it was all outside orders and not paying attention to the inside orders. May try again later but this time it was not good. read more

I had the three tacos plates with rice and beans for $11.99 was very good and tasted so good I drank the lime and cucumber drink, very fresh. Service was very good Rene and the rest of the staff was friendly, helpful and attentive Most definitely will come again. Heard so many good things about this establishment. Such a disappointing experience. It's a service. Was terrible. Five employees in the back standing around helping who they want to help. The burrito that I ordered. Carne asada was awful. The beans tasted like they were from the can. No taste whatsoever and the carne asada was cut so small and there was so little of it in the burrito. You could barely taste it. The tortilla didn't even taste cooked. It tasted like they just steamed it. My husband said the tacos were good so that's why I gave you a two. Otherwise there is a lot of other taquerias up here with a lot better tasting quality food. So at this point I won't be recommending this to anyone. It's expensive and it's not worth it. This is honestly even worse than tacos Mexico. The meat has absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Just so damn bland and flavorless. The carnitas and Buche taste like they were simply just boiled in hot water. No hint of any sort of spices, not even the bare minimum, salt. Don't even bother with this place. Simply just head on over to TACOS EL SAPO on Palmdale road for some good tacos and burritos. This place is a damn shame honestly. They managed to get the decor and ambiance so right! When we went the first time when they just opened it was amazing and fast and all the workers were polite and friendly . Today we went for our second time and we waited in line for 20 minutes before anyone said a word to us, while all the workers including the manager were with 1 customer at the register. Then when a worker came up to us asking if an order was ours, we said no we haven't ordered yet and he just skipped us and took the order of the man behind us so we just walked out . The locations down the hill that aren't even express are faster than this location , and way more polite. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's the high desert. Such a disappointment. read more

I have visited this restaurant twice now and both of my experiences have been disappointing the service I got from what it says in the receipt name is jasmine both times I have went she seemed to be more focused on flirting with the cookers. She has messed my order up both times and I asked for another staff member for help just to get my order placed correctly and she does not pay attention to what I ask for and she is always playing around. Visited for the first time and had an extremely great experience every all the employees carried pride in their job with welcoming everyone at the door. Food portions are worth it. Agua frescas are delicious! But one thing that made it over the top was one employee that stood out to me was the cashier estrelita she came out her way to come to the table ask if we needed anything at making sure we had the best experience.
