Probably the best Mexican food in Hesperia. Service wasn't the best but the food was worth it. The place is also a bit dark inside, could use some more lighting. Scope's were no perfect but still great tasting! Would come here again if I'm up the hill. read more

We have been loyal patrons of La Casita for many years. But tonight they put us in the back room by the restrooms. Larger tables for larger parties. There was two larger parties back there and it was the three of us and my 88 yr old mother n law for her birthday. Well they were ridiculously loud the more they drank ( booze) the louder they were! I mean come on people you have no respect for others! We were just trying to have a nice dinner. I wanted to yell out "Shut the hell up!" But I didn't. They are not in their home for Pete's sake! I wish the establishment would have quieted them down. I couldn't even finish my dinner.... I took it home. So if you read this La Casita, please don't place a small party in a room with a lot of loud drinking people! We love going there but this particular evening was very disappointing. read more

Came here with a decent sized group and we were quickly seated. The place was pretty busy but not too loud. I don't have much to say about the food. It had a decent amount of flavor and everything was cooked well. I ate most of my meal and would come back again if the service improved. We asked for drink refills multiple times and would get one person's drink but no one else's. My 4 year old very politely asked for a refill 3 times and got nothing, even though they acknowledged her request. We needed something and eventually my niece got up and went to get it herself (could see it from where we were sitting). That's not something you should have to do. After our meal we waited a decent amount for the check. They brought it and then we sat and waited... and waited... I'm still not sure if you're supposed to go up to pay or if they are supposed to come collect your card/cash but the time we sat there was a bit ridiculous. Take our money already!! When we got up to pay, we were greeted with goodbyes. We could have easily left without paying, I don't think anyone was paying attention to us for most of our time there. This restaurant is definitely slept on. Their Albondiga soup is so . They did not have a long wait time and I went during the lunch rush. The service was great. They were very attentive to my table and it has an authentic Mexican feel in the restaurant. The decor was amazing. I ordered tacos and they had a wide variety of meat that you can put in the tacos. Something that was unusual for me. Was they allowed me to have ground beef in the taco that was on the menu! I've never seen that. I'm Mexican restaurant and to me that stood out in that made them a step ahead of the rest. This place was bomb. read more

After the pandemic, everything here went downhill except the quality of food. Food has always been great, but due to horrible services and much higher prices, we stopped going there. Today, I'm please to report that their services are now top notch! I thought maybe it was just one time fluke, but we've been back a few times since, and each time, services have been great, and it seems to remain that this is the new normal. Yes. The food is good. It comes pretty quick if you're hungry the service is hit or miss depending on who's your server I think I've been there two or three times now since I moved to the area. It's a restaurant that's been in the area for a Long time so I think there's locals that are regular and it's a comfortable casual place. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with my honey and the service was horrible! Our attendant did not pay attention to us, we were there for nearly 2 hours and only had 1 refill of water and only because we asked the attendant who was clearing tables. My honey ordered the mixed fajita plate and it was overcooked, the veggies were burnt. The pozole tasted like a regular soup with meat and hominy. We had to stop attendants to ask for things that they should come by often to ask (water, napkins, chips/salsa refill). Our attendant probably was at our table 3 times in the entire 2 hours we were there. The attendant forgot to bring the albondigas side soup so we got one to take home. When we left, another couple complained as well and they had a different attendant. Today, my honey went to eat his albondigas soup and it was literally one meat ball, a piece of potato, a carrot, and the rest was the juice from soup. We always leave a nice tip but unfortunately, no tip this time other than they need to work on their service. read more

I was actually at La Casita the same evening this "chip and salsa tragedy" supposedly happened, and I have to say, the way it's being told here is... creative, to put it kindly. It was less a restaurant review and more a dramatic diary entry about being denied... free chips. Let's clear this up: chips and salsa are for dine-in customers. Always have been. Always will be. Spending "almost $100" on takeout doesn't make you the queen of Hesperia, it just means you bought dinner. Congrats. The part about the manager "literally jumping in front" of the waitress? Come on. Nobody's out here diving across the bar like it's Mission Impossible to stop you from getting tortilla chips. He reminded his coworker of the policy -- that's called managing, not WWE. And this idea that because the staff "knows your family" you deserve special treatment? Entitlement with a side of guac. They know my family too, and you know what? We still follow the rules. Also, if you're going to write a review longer than the menu, at least learn where to put a period. Reading that wall of text was more painful than being told "no" to free chips. Bottom line: the food here is great, the staff is consistent, and the only "unprofessional and rude" thing I see is someone trying to guilt a restaurant over appetizers they weren't owed in the first place. Ground beef hard shell tacos are pretty good. Make sure to get a small side of their creamy guacamole to top them for a great flavor. They're not real big and the meat gets cooked a little dry, probably because they are filled then deep fried, but they have a lot of lettuce and cheese. Definitely better than Taco Bell. read more

My last review was over two years ago. Today we went La Casita Cafe and I ordered Flautas. I am disappointed in how the food was. They were not stuffed with chicken like usual, rather, they barely had any chicken or anything else for that matter in them. They were burned on all the ends with no chicken in them over a 1/4 of each flauta to the end. Very disappointing! I wrote another review as stated in the first sentence of this review, and I was so happy, and loved the food! Now, not at all! Maybe they have a new cook, or under new management, or price gouging; I'm not sure, but my hope is they will reevaluate their cook. read more

Looks like this place has been around a long time and the clientele are locals coming in routinely. That is a good sign. The food here is delicious. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. Chips were still hot when brought to the table which I like immensely. I requested their spicier salsa because I like a higher heat level. I had the #6 Combo which is a chile relleno, chicken taco, rice and beans. You get a choice of soup or salad with the meal. I chose the albondigas soup. The soup was flavorful with lots of cooked vegetables. I could easily see myself ordering a bowl of it by itself. The chile relleno and chicken taco were also delicious. Portion sizes are generous here so you don't have to worry about getting enough to eat. Definitely worth another visit to try the other items on the extensive menu. read more

First for the pros... service was outstanding and fast. Restaurant is small but nice inside. Had to wait a little bit for them to prepare a table for 6 but that is to be expected. Food portions are huge! Now for the cons... The quality of the food is average in my opinion. Ok for the price point but average. Nachos on the sampler were soggy. I would probably give them another try just to see if it gets better and maybe just a bad night in the kitchen. read more
