The food here is delicious! We ordered the breakfast bowls with chicken tonight and we were so glad we came here. I was craving a bean and cheese burrito, and it was the best bean and cheese burrito I have ever eaten! The burrito was HUGE and will fill you up! The flour tortilla was soft and delicious, the refried beans were thick, creamy and full of flavor, the cheese was melted and gooey, and the habanero salsa was spicy! The service was friendly and fast, and the owner Caleb was working the cash register! I decided to give chronic tacos a try after finding out it is owned by Paul Walkers brother. So far I have tried the chicken and asada burrito. Food was delivered hot both times, the ingredients are definitely fresh, and the fresh lime and spicy salsa is tasty. But I do feel like everything else is a bit bland? The asada doesn't have the typical flavor you'd expect, tastes like it needs salt. Beans and rice was kind of a miss too. This place is alright, it's not amazing, and not bad. Think of Chipotle, but a step down from there. They have some decent options, and a soda machine that does all the flavors. They also have breakfast burritos, which is a nice plus. Overall, the meat is well done, which isn't bad, but not great. The service is 10/10 very welcoming and friendly. Really good chronic tacos, the salsas are well made. You get your tacos nice and served, you get what you paid for, which is a full taco with meat and not just little pieces of meat. The environment is also well lit, clean and great music. Underwhelming. I expected much better based off its reviews. First off, this is basically a small Chipotle. Second, the ordering process is not clear. Their menu does not match how you will order. For example, we ordered the Chronic Fries. They asked us what meat we wanted but the menu already had a meat chosen. Then they asked us about toppings but I had ordered it expecting the same toppings. The menu never mentions rice and beans in the ordering process but it is and it caught us off guard. Third, the food is meh. It's not nearly as good as the plethora of Mexican food available in the area. The fries in particular weren't good. And the bowl we ordered was just average. Lastly, the gentleman working on the line putting our order together was so rushed but there was like nobody there. Because the ordering process was confusing, we needed time to think. When I eventually got there, I found out my food had been given to someone else. On top of that, this location doesn't offer egg whites like the Costa Mesa location, which is a bummer. It also came with rice, beans! While the rice and beans were average, I really enjoyed my tacos. They filled me up and kept me satisfied. I loved the toppings and I could tell the meat was freshly prepared. The employees were kind, and prepared my meal quickly. I was there a month ago, the one in my hometown closed down for good because of the conditions, so I stopped off the I-5 Freeway South and took the turn off wanting to try the place, it took me awhile but I finally found it. And I gotta say IT WAS THE BOMB!!! Creamy, spicy baja sauce is thrown into the burrito, and I added sour cream ($0.54 extra) for good measure. It's got all the flavor components of a great burrito, but found the al pastor to be a little on the dry side. It seems leaner cuts of meat were used, which isn't a deal breaker; I just expected a little more fat content. - Nachos | Al pastor, refried beans, cheese, onion, and cilantro on top of crunchy tortilla chips. Salsa verde (medium) and salsa roja (hot) side sauces give this dish an extra bit of spiciness; complimenting the al pastor's savory/sweet flavors. He decided to stop helping me and turned his attention to the lady who walked in after me, he stopped talking to me and proceeded to help her.
