I choose black beans but the option of pinto beans is available. Customer service here is efficient and polite. The restaurant is clean and the noise level can be on the higher side because of its popularity but I still eat here. I will preface this to say that the food is very good with decent portions and my kids love it. We have been going for years and despite never getting chips with our order ( what is that about?) I have yet to have an issue with the food. However, tonight the line was crazy. I get it - early dinner rush it was hot, no one wants to cook. But they had ONE register open. So it took even longer than needed. My friend met us and jumped in line with me when I was at the front so our kids could order at the same time. The young guy taking our order proceeded to chastise us that he saw her come to the front of the line with me and made a big deal about it. Was she supposed to wait for 30 mins like I did because they don't have enough people taking orders?? Furthermore, in the time it was taking for him to argue this he could have just taken her order and MOVED THE LINE ALONG. Collectively, we spent over a hundred on food between our two families and it was her first time there so it was honestly EMBARRASSING she was treated that way. Been coming coming here like 12 years or more bringing family and friends to try it . I bought 80 of food to ti for five people . I'll it was dinner rush hour the salsa bar had many people waiting as if you have people eating there with families it takes for ever to fill the tiny travel cups as there were not individuals. The customers and I were cracking jokes about having to be the provider for the family and having to bring all the things requested home. Anyhow good food always great, this time I asked for two water cups as the lemon wedges wound not fit in the tiny containers as well as the hot peppers due to size and I have five people asking for this stuff. I had also to get radishes and pico de gallo. Remember I had two small water cups of everything in it. I went to go get my food to go and had this guy working there humiliate and yell at me that the cups were not for taking shit home and they were only for water. I tried to explain that it's five peoples orders there and that we spend 80-150 every weeks and it's five of us. He didn't stop he started yelling at me in front of everyone again as the other guy working up front laughed and gave me the worst look of disgust. This behavior had to stop .if you provide bags for lemons that fit great prob solved or bags for peppers but to fit give peoples stuff all in two small water cups is only a little bit of each thing not a cup full of any one thing. I told him tjat he had no right to speak to me like that and if the owner was there . He gave me my food and it was missing own double carne asada bowl. He caught it before I left and gave them to me with attitude no apology and then there was another guy that cam and did the same thing. Be ware here if you a a large family and get an order to go they expect you to stand there and block all the other customer for 15 mins while you load and fight to fit things in the tiny containers. Not reasonable of you are the one waiting for them to move. Now if you wanna change for lemons or salsa then do it but if I order for give people and we eat there at least once a week every week figure it out don't abuse your customers this way . It was literally verbal abuse and this is the second time the last time the guy with longer hair was arguing with my mom that's they don't make the tortillas more toasty or little more cooked . It was an argument that was not true as we have come here and we have always had them like that. So what did we get tostadas! We never asked for tostadas and I'm bilingual and speak fluent Spanish so this was not a language barrier thing. So sad I had to be treated like an abuser when all I was doing was trying to clear out of the bar fast to let others in at a timely manner and also fit the stuff I for five people. If this is such a horrible things provide containers that fit your items and if it s cost that the issue for 7 slices of lemons for 5 people , half cup of radishes and pico de gallo and peppers than charge for it but it really wasn't a lot it's just that they see the cup full and it was all sides . Came by here on our way home thru the OC. Ordered blacken fish and shrimp taco combo. The shrimp Was the best thing but that sucker is $8 something a taco! Secondly, the Cajun fish was wayyyyy too salty. I couldn't eat it! Lastly found part of a toothpick in my beans. That's fun. Service was descent. I always see this place while I'm at Planet Fitness in the same plaza, it's always busy, so you know it's good! After a tough workout, I was craving a fish burrito and decided to give this spot a shot. I love the salsa bar and the seasoned onions, so yum! The red salsa is nice and smoky, while the green one is surprisingly spicy. Its been a family favorite for over 2 decades and I dont see it changing. On a recent trip, I ordered a special taco, of Ribeye Taco $8.00. The meat itself was good, but the taco was only ribeye, and guacamole with flour tortilla bread ( my choice, since i dont like corn). THATS IT! I ended up making it specialized by using cilantro from the condiment section and onions to make it a bit more appealing to me. Would I order it again? Probably not. Its not worth $8.00. The order along with that was the carne asada burrito combo plate with side of rice and black beans. Also from condiment section, onions, and cilantro and substituted out the salsa and guacamole for avocado instead since the guacamole has serrano chili peppers and juice in it and the Pico de gallo salsa has chili peppers and jalapenos in it. Having a food allergy while tricky, if asking the right questions and going to the right eatery can allow one to have freedom in ordering food and enjoying it like EVERYONE ELSE! Substitutions don't have to be a FOUR-LETTER WORD to some and still allow others to feel inclusive and not excluded. It just takes understanding, and a willingness to find ways to make it happen. I get the fish taco, and the shrimp taco, the combo comes with rice & beans. Their rice is a white rice and it's really good, the beans are pinto and very good. I used to be a fan of Baja fish tacos until yesterday when I had the worst experience ever. We loved coming here and having different items on the menu. Yesterday I ordered their tortilla soup to go. It took an HOUR of waiting JUST for soup. Not only that but they package their HOT soup in PLASTIC containers which is HORRIBLE for your health as it leaches toxic chemicals into your food. I asked if they could use something else and they said NO. During the time I was waiting I asked why it's taking so long and the woman in the counter told me they microwave the soup and they only have one microwave to heat it up. Which means it is NOT fresh. Wish I was given the option to at least take it cold because the microwave just KILLED all the good nutrients that I needed in the soup.
