We arrived early on a Friday night and climbed the very steep steps to this 2nd floor place above an Irish bar. The place is dark and moody. We got seated in one of their great banquettes. The service was very quick - actually the woman serving us was practically running the whole time. I ordered a mai tai which was reasonably priced but a bit weak. We tried their fried egg rolls - they were OK but too greasy. Their version of General Tso's was good with lots of vegetables including mini corn on the cobs. My wife's noodle dish was also very good. The servings were big and the prices appropriate. Overall it was worth the trip to Janesville.

I like it just fine that way. I asked my cheeseburger, medium, and it was medium, char-grilled as opposed to griddle cooked. It was properly seasoned and came with a dill pickle spear. We were impressed by the Gray's root beer and ginger beer. Love them serving truly local brewed sodas. The root beer was a little vanilla heavy but I liked it because I don't like most root beer. The ginger brew was EXCELLENT, and I know my ginger beers. Now I have to find out where I can buy it. We consider ourselves calamari aficianados (self-proclained, of course.). We were stoked to try it based on all of the rave reviews. Alas, this is the dish that most drop the rating for us. The calamari pieces were very small, very tough and the batter blew off. Weirdly, it showed up so close to our ordering it that I wondered if something was wrong. Was the oil so hot that the usual cook time was now too long? We're they trying a new vendor and these very small pieces cooked WAY to fast. In any case, I suggest they relook at the quality control on that dish. Below I send a photo of all the batter that fell off in the serving dish. It was a nice sized order and tasted like very good rubbery, miniature calamari. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was delicious. It was so moist and I didn't know whether that was due to brining, sous vide, bone in, or just the best preparation I've ever had. And his plate was full of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Couldn't have been happier. I had the walleye (only on Fridays) and it was a beautiful, thick fillet cooked to perfection. There are many open fuel pumps, and a car wash that you never have to wait too long at. My favorite bonus about this location - the convenient Hedberg Public Library Book/DVD rental drop off boxes.
