Food was ok, my fam likes this place I don't really, that's why it's 3 stars but I would rate 2 stars. Service was good probably, didn't interact with any of the staff so i'm not sure. Salad bar was lacking, (I did get salad i'm not fat, i just ate it before taking the pic, it was with the egg and mac and cheese plate that was empty). Anyways, will never be coming back, tbf I don't like pizza or chicken (i'm primarily a vegetarian) which are the main options so that's kinda my bad. read more

Amazing staff and the food is delicious! When you walk in, you feel at home. Since Shakey's closed, this has been Janesville's go to for pizza and chicken. Happy Joes was pretty good, but Mack's has it beat hands down. Reasonable prices, and the greatest hometown feel. Can't find that anymore, so go there, and enjoy the experience. The Taco Supreme pizza was delicious! I've never had one with crumbled taco flavored chips on top but I loved the added texture. It came with taco sauce and sour cream. We also got jalapeños on the side but I highly recommend them on top. They were mild but still so good! Service for delivery was great too, will definitely order again. read more

Met a couple friends here for lunch. They had ordered one of their lunch specials, which seems like a great value! They had a tenders and potato basket, with a soda, and they couldn't finish it, because it was such a good portion. I opted for the buffet to try a bit of everything. The mashed potatoes were fantastic and the mac and cheese wasn't too bad either. Potato salad was okay, as was the pizza and cheese bread, but the chicken. Wow. I honestly think their chicken is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. They are serving their buffet cafeteria style where someone is there to serve you. Everyone working was wearing masks, but I did notice a lot of people were walking up to the buffet without their masks on. read more

I think the Garden pizza is very good; lots of veggies, evenly put on. (that right there is something not a lot of pizza places get right). I'm not a big sweets person, but I tried the Caramel Cinnamon Pecan Squares, and while they're not "squares", they ARE Awesome!!! MMM MMM MMM MMM I also got the cheese sticks. We came here for lunch and ended up getting the buffet. The sign says seat your self, so we did. Trouble is the check out is in the back where you are supposed to order. So we waited for a waitress before realizing that orders were taken at the register. The place has booth and table seating. The buffet table is along one wall near the back. The table we sat at was clean, but the menu had dried food on it. The buffet consisted of pizza and chicken with a modest salad bar. Most of the pizza was cold and dried out. The chicken was hot and juicy like it just came from the fryer. There is a bus cart along one wall you put your dirty dishes in. The restroom was fairly clean. There was a birthday party going on so the place was kind of noisy. There is a small game room with a few arcade games. This is not my kind of buffet. I think you should be seated and greeted by a person. They should at least take your plates away. I don't believe the quality of food and lack of service was worth $10.44. Went to Mac's for their lunch buffet this past week. I had heard about their deep fried breaded potatoes (similar to Shakey's Pizza's potatoes called Mojos). Oddly enough, Mac's calls them Mojos too. I ordered the buffet and found that Mojos (perhaps their #2 item behind their pizza) weren't included in their buffet. So I had to spend some more money to get what I came there for originally. They were good, but should be included in the buffet. The reason I'm writing this review is because I ate some fried chicken that wasn't completely cooked. I spent the next day with either E. Coli or salmonella poisoning. I called the restaurant the following day and asked for the manager. The gal that answered the phone (Megan) said she was the manager. I told her my issue and she lacked true empathy for my situation. She said she was sorry but didn't offer any reimbursement for what I had gone through due to eating their food. But she'd pass along my message to the owner. Not good enough! read more

My husband and I ordered pizza from here when staying in Janesville. We got a gluten free pepperoni pizza. With ranch on the side. We had it delivered to our room. It only took 1/2 an hour. We both thought it was really good! And you could choose between a small and a medium size for gluten free. Which is nice. Would order again when in town! read more

We were referred here by some neighborhood teenagers. We ordered a Chicago style pizza a thin crust. We picked it up and upon opening the boxes, we discovered this wasn't exact order. Too tired, we ate it. I should say we each had a piece of each. Then it went to a dark place in the back of the refrigerator until it was "acceptable" to toss. Ah Mac's... Takes me back to high school. Macs has been around forever in one way or another. It's a community staple. Their pizza is decent. What you really want to order here is their taco pizza and broaster chicken! Their dough is made fresh daily! The taco pizza has a bean sauce, spicy sausage, fresh mix of cheese and topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and Doritos! Add a little hit sauce and sour cream and you have the best taco pizza ever! The broaster chicken is crispy, salty, and juicy. Everything you would expect. I'm also a fan of the salad bar. Everything is fresh with a wide variety! Broccoli salad, cole slaw, Oreo cream fluff stuff, good old fashioned chocolate pudding? The salad bar has it! What really sells me on this place is their support of the community. They are constantly donating pizza and supporting numerous organizations throughout the community. The owners are really just outstanding people in general. This is a place that gives back! This is always a spot I come to with my family when I come back to WI. It's a Happy Joe's without the franchise tag. We called ahead to make sure they could seat all 25 of us. We requested extra broasted chicken and taco pizza on the buffet line because thats why we come. I think they did the best they could with the chicken but in the 2 hours they were there, we saw 2 taco pizza's. Of course the rest of the restaurant was waiting for it too, so it was gone within seconds. So bummer for me, I didn't get any, I did eat my weight in Chicken though.....its sooooooo good. read more

We've ordered from here twice and both times we've had to call 30 mins after the pizza was supposed to be delivered. They then said that they just "missed" the order both times. Service was lousy here. We walked in right when the buffet was closing. Not a big deal as we figured we would try that next time we popped in if we liked the pizza. Ordered our pizza and wings and when we received them we had to get our own silverware and had to ask for plates. They never checked back on us the whole time we were eating so I didn't bother to leave a tip. We had to go ask for a box for the leftover pizza too. Pizza wasn't very good but the wings were. If we go back it will only be for carryout and to try the broasted chicken.
