Eat here! It's that simple! I know there are tons of places to eat in Traverse but you absolutely must try this place. It's super small inside, only 3 tables but they have picnic tables outside and honestly if there isn't a seat walk a few hundred feet down the road, take the steps down to the water and boom you have a seat on the water! The play list they had going while we ate there was on point as well! Such a fun place, and great vibe, everyone working seemed genuinely happy to be there and they all seemed to work great together! This was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time!

I absolutely LOVE this place! So that area is all beautiful beaches and I wanted to grab a wrap to go eat on the beach- this was perfect. You basically go in, order, then go outside. It's a very small space but perfect for what it is. There is a space fenced off on the left where you can eat at cute little picnic tables. There is also a spot facing the water right next door where the bus picks up that you can sit if you want a water view. This city is all around so gorgeous view-wise so most people just walk across the street to the beaches. I came here a couple times in my visit to TC and the staff were wicked nice, super helpful, and very welcoming. The food was so good! I love love love the wraps! They have a limited menu - but it is for good reason- everything is amazing. The chips that come with the wraps are also so good and addicting! They also give you some kind of dill spread and that was delicious as well. I'm also a sucker for great marketing and mascots so obviously a place called Chubby Unicorn gets bonus points from me from the jump. The logo and branding were adorable and the vibes were so fun. Inside, they also have tons of cool graphic art from Banksy, who's my favorite artist, so again, 5 stars.

The Millionaire Turkey was amazing. When I first saw it I thought it was going to be bland and dry but it was the opposite. I am already thinking about the next time I will get it again. It is a very small shop and not a ton of seating but the staff is very friendly. They also offer catering! 10/10 a MUST try in Traverse City

Stopped in for the first time last Monday. Tiny little place with seating for about 12 inside and plenty of picnic table seating outside. Menu is small but I think there is something for everyone. You order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. They have paninis, wraps, salads, couple of soups, and a kids menu. We opted for the dilly dally salad, millionaire turkey sandwich, and cheese and ale soup. Not a bad choice in the bunch. Salad was big enough for two and has a lot of good stuff in it. See the menu. The sandwich was delicious with a sweet bacon jam on it. Soup was nice and hot with a nice cheese flavor. Great service, great food, and a go to place in my book.

Stopped in for lunch with two other people. Split two sandwiches between the three of us, and while it was filling enough, I would have happily eaten the whole thing! Seriously delicious. They have a succinct selection of "paninis", salads, wraps and soups. I say "paninis" because they were grilled, but it wasn't what I would typically envision a panini to be. The bread was fluffy, not hard and flat. Creative toppings - we ain't talking traditional deli sandwiches here. And they served their Great Lakes chips with a side of housemade French onion dip (we love a dip and a sauce). No beers, so grab em to go if that's what you're looking for. Inside is small with a few tables, maybe more of a to-go place. There is a small patio to the side which looked like a lovely option on a summer day in TC. If you're passing through, highly recommend!

The food: We shared the Millionaire Turkey and the Thick Little Hottie between three of us and it made for a perfect lunch. My favorite was the Thick Little Hottie which had heat in the midwestern sense. The dill dip with the chips definitely elevated them as a side. The vibe: cute little place with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and delivered the food to us event though we sat outside.

Got a chicken capresse wrap, capi-doodle-dew sandwich, and a thick little hottie sandwich. All three sandwiches were delicious. The dipping sauce went perfectly with the sandwiches and the chips, and the chips tasted homemade and fresh. We took our food to the pier a couple shops down and ate by the water. Was a great experience.

Small shop with BIG energy! Friendly owner, friendly patrons, an incredibly welcoming atmosphere with tasty food as a bonus. Portions will not leave you hungry. My gf does not care for sandwiches yet found a new taste or texture to compliment after every bite. House made dill dip was amazing, with the chips, with the sandwich, with my finger, with anything. We had to buy a tub to take with us on our way out camping after this needed body fueling stop.

The daily special - the Pickle Rick

I am embarrassed to say that I've driven past the Chubby Unicorn at least 50 times and never stopped.....which was my loss...until today!! Walking in, it was as I had imagined - order at the counter, three small tables and help yourself napkins and plasticware. The vibe was great, with 5 staff on the move in a small kitchen and an enticing aroma. The menu is quaint but has distinct offerings. I asked the young lady at the counter what I should consider and she recommended the French Dip...as it was National French Dip Day (Nov 12). She also pointed me to their daily special, the Pickle Rick, which you can see in my photos. I went with the special and, dude..., it was the right pick! Tender roast beef, great sauce, tasty veges and probably the best ciabatta bread I've ever had! While I was waiting, they offered a taste of a new soup they were evaluating, French Onion, which was marvelous. I devoured the sandwich in my Jeep and called my wife after the first two bites to tell her I've found my new favorite local sandwich shop!! She's knows I'm a food snob and asked if we could go tomorrow (we now have a lunch date)! ALSO, they have GLUTEN FREE bread and wrap options. So don't do what I did and ignore this little treasure. All locals, make an effort to try the Chubby Unicorn. You out-of-towners, make it one of your scheduled foodie visits. You wont be disappointed!

Was really yummy. People there were nice and had good outdoor seating. If you need a place to go for a snack you can split the sandwiches.

Super cozy inside, I feel like I'm at home. The store has everything anyone needs; fresh meat & cheeses, olives, spices, pizza flour, dough, cookies, wine, desserts, take and bake pizzas, lasagna, pot pies, and so much more. We ordered one of the many delicious sandwiches on the menu. I chose the Chimp Boy Gravel Pants. Roasted turkey, sundried tomatoes, pesto, blue cheese, provolone, Italian dressing, stuffed in a ciabatta sub- AMAZING. That will be forever in my heart. Made with love. I wish I could've wrapped that shop up, put it in my pocket and brought it back to my hometown. I will definitely stop there each and every time I visit TC!

That being picky though, the place feels welcoming and is brightly lit and feels well cared for. I ordered the Pot Roast ($20). It's described as slow roasted with carrots and onions and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. The meat was tender and delicious. the gravy was perfect without overpowering. The carrots and onions were a great compliment. Plus the real mashed potatoes were made to perfection. Smooth, yet still had the potatoness to the texture. The taste was one of the better mashed potatoes I've had in TC. I don't know what they do th their TC Cherry Coke, but it is spectacular. Lastly for dessert I got their Lava Cake ($7), it was fine, but disappointing after such a great meal. I don't know if it was from frozen or what. However the texture was a little off andvthe taste was only okay. I wouldn't get it again. The service was very friendly and super helpful. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Since I have to round, I'm going to forgive the dessert and give a full 5 stars. Would I return? Absolutely. Especially if I'm craving Pot Roast.
