What a difference a new location makes. This place is so much bigger and clean than the previous place down the street! So many more games to play, even has a small trampoline area, and such good fun for kids. Its really aimed for birthday parties, which we had for my girl and close to 20 kids in the party. There were two or three other group birthday parties and didn't feel too overcrowded. There are three packages to choose from and I picked the Mega Fun ($30.99 per kid). Unlimited play, pizza, dippin dots, juice, and the kids had a blast. The trampoline was extra ($8 pp, so I didn't do that, but paid out of pocket for my girl to go on it). No one wanted to leave after our two hour window was up. FYI, long lines to redeem tickets, so I would do it 15 minutes before the party ends. The party was was setup so Chuck E Cheese dance party and photos were done all together with the other groups, so that part was a big chaotic. Our host/server was great though. Their pizzas are surprisingly good. I mean who would have said that right? Thin and crispy. I also ordered wings for the parents plus three pizzas (two is more than enough). Chuck E Cheese is still around and providing fun for all ages. They've got a mix of old school and newer games, games for fun and for those trying to optimize their digital tickets for prizes, and a range of prizes. Staff was friendly and helpful. Chuck E Cheese stole the show with his high fives and dance moves and totally amped up the energy! It was not overly crowded despite it being a rainy day. Food and cake got the job done - drinks were watered down and flat. Overall, great to see kids having fun at an "old fashioned" arcade where kids can still be kids. read more

They moved from down the street to this location a couple of years ago and I was there for the grand opening. I won one of their 3 raffles for a birthday party for 12 and my nephew had his there with 20 kids, so we paid extra and ordered pizzas and drinks for the adults. It was their best package at the time and the kids had a blast! I've been to the old location many times through the years and this new location is so much bigger and brighter. The new fun pass options deliver a great deal especially if you live close by and go often, but even once a month is a good deal. I often see people in front paying regular price for one kid and it's the same cost as 3 months pass! The trampoline area is now expanded with an obstacle course and they raised the price to $15 which includes the socks. I wish they'd do a deal with a pass for the trampoline area and they can reuse their socks - Sky Zone now offers memberships. I hadn't been to a Chuck E. Cheese since I was a kid, but we decided to go and see what it was like. Yes, I went with another adult and no kids. They didn't seem to care. We tried a coupon for 2 one hour timed play cards which were a decent discount compared to regular price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the games were very much for adults. Basketball, the football throwing game, and dodgeball were among our favorites. I would summarize the gaming area as Dave & Buster's lite. The not so great aspects included the quality of the pizza for the price. For what you get, the price of a below average large pizza is way too high. When you add drinks (on top of pizza and games), the whole experience can get expensive fast. You really need to use the groupon or locally available coupons to get a better deal. I think it's honestly better to eat somewhere else and use this place for the games. This particular location can get pretty packed, but even with a crowd it wasn't too bad finding an open game machine. Went to the new Chuck E. Cheese and this new location works well for the establishment! The employees, Violet and Terrance were well-informed of the different game packages and even the prizes. I enjoyed chatting with Violet especially and from our interaction I could tell that she genuinely enjoyed working here. Violet answered every question I had for her, and if you know me, you know there were a lot of questions! Terrence was super patient during the prize selection time and even let me know that prize tickets don't expire so kids can save up their tickets to earn larger prizes. Parents/caregivers can either purchase unlimited play for a certain amount of time (ex: 45 minutes for all you can play) or pay for tokens. All you can play time comes with one pause break (like to eat during without the play time running down), but any unused time is forfeited/removed at the end of that night. Token play doesn't expire and can roll over to another visit. For young children who literally leave the machine/game in the middle of it, I'd recommend the All you can play / timed option because I think the tokens would run out if they keep hoping from one machine to the other. Another thing I'll mention here is that they no longer have actual tokens that need to be inserted. The kids get a card (which you should keep for corresponding visits) to tap on a machine to play. Games are on two floors (a ramp or about three steps separating the floors, not a staircase) and there are new games as well as some of the old machines from the previous locations. Everything (including the bathrooms) was clean during my visit, which was in the mid-afternoon timeframe of 1:00 pm on a weeknight. It was not busy (probably about four-a six other school-aged children with their families). I think there were about two machines out of everything they offer which were out of service (the carousel being one...). This location has a trampoline zone which costs an extra $10 per child for unlimited jump time for that entire day (this is with the cost of game time/play. If game time isn't purchased, and a kid isn't part of the birthday package, the trampoline zone is $15/child and height requirements are that child must be under 52"). There are seven trampolines in the zone so I think the staff try to keep one kid per trampoline to avoid injuries. There are a bunch of rules for the kids to follow as well: Can't lay down or sit down on trampolines (need to leave the area to sit/take break) and the employee will stay at the front of the trampoline area the entire time the child is jumping for safety reasons and to monitor unpaid children from coming in. I could understand if a parent / caregiver would feel awkward asking the employee to open the gates to the trampoline and then stay there the entire time time kid jumps, then close up when kid is done, and then restart when kid wants to jump again... The price of entry into the trampoline zone also come with gripped socks regardless of whether the child is already wearing socks with grippers. It's the same cost and the socks are given with admission. I did not try the food during my visit, but in addition to the famous Chuck E. Cheese pizza, there is also a salad bar and fountain drinks available for purchase. The parking lot is all outdoor, but very large, and easy to maneuver. There are other shops within the complex, including Homegoods and Aldi. There is so much more I could write but this review is already much longer than I thought it would be! Fun and easy place to spend an evening with the kids! We have two kids so we got two unlimited cards. We chose the 75 minute time limit and it ended up being the perfect amount for us. They're younger and so they're not old enough for some of the games and also not everything holds their attention. So this card allowed them to swipe to the hearts content. We also ended up ordering a pizza which tasted better than it looked. Lol It can get busy on a Saturday night and there's probably going to be a birthday party in the back room, but it's definitely worth a visit! read more

First things, first. Chuck E Cheese is not what it use to be when I was a kid. I wasn't quite sure why to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. This location was clean considering all of the kids running around. We paid $13 for a game card that provided us with a ton of game play! The food was average. I'm not a pizza snob but I wasn't a fan of their pizza. I can see kids enjoying it, though! We also ordered large fries and it was skimpy. They said that they measure the weight for the fries and I can tell you that $6 for a large fry was steep considering it was no more than 10 fries in the basket. My son loves this place so I'm into it. It's clean every time I come here and even with kids constantly running around and throwing stuff, they still manage. Rarely is anything out of order and this location is always fully staffed. They're all younger kids probably working their first jobs, but they're still friendly and very professional. Food is a bit pricey, but at least it's good the kids enjoy it. This location is a bit smaller than most Chuck E. Cheese's I've been to, but it gets the job done. Their party area is big enough and great for hosting. Recommended for all kids. read more

They've changed a lot of rules since moving to the new location. Despite being a great renovation , they have changed the policies to be a lot less friendly and kill the fun . One, you can no longer spend your tickets on prizes that cost money . Two, you can no longer split your play money across multiple cards unless you purchase at the desk which is not made clear at the kiosks . If you had The Misfortune to buy the ticket at the kiosk you're out of luck . This is baf for business because now instead of having lots of people use up the card super fast you have the card that can be used very slowly and half the people in the party not playing at all . read more

I had not visited a Chuck E. Cheese since moving to the DC area a couple of years ago. My 6 year old grandson and I came here about 2 months ago for a birthday party a classmate was celebrating! At the entrance an employee gave my grandson and I matching id bracelets as part of the child safety protocol. They also gave him the Chuck E.'s All You Can Play card to use in the game arcade. There are party tables in the rear of the restaurant. We checked in with the birthday girl & her family. Then my grandson and I went to the arcade to have some fun! My grandson was being quite shy at first & we ran around playing games until he met up with a friend and they went off on their own. Before that he had so much fun with the whack a mole game & the photo booth. It took a few minutes to get our picture but I really like how it turned out. It is a keeper. The basketball hoop game was also one of his favorites. The main food for the party was of course pizza! It tasted & looked like the basic kind that you buy frozen at the grocery store & bake at home. We had cheese & pepperoni but it was no Digiorno! The kids didn't care though. They just wanted to eat the pizza & then have their ice cream & cake. With two sheet cakes there was plenty for everyone. The food was accompanied by the Chuck E. Cheese show and the staff singing of happy birthday! All of the kids got a birthday surprise bag & went to the prize counter to exchange the points earned on their card playing arcade games for candy, toys and games large and small. It takes a lot of points to get even a small prize. The process is quick & efficient though! As we were leaving the staff had to verify that children's bracelets matched the adults they left with. As an entertainment venue for kids goes this is a great place for families. The employees are friendly & very component. However, everyone knows the food is mediocre! They have renovated the play area recently, and added a bunch of new rides. For $20 I was able to get 2 pre-schoolers personal pizzas, about 50 tokens, and 2 drinks- and I was able to watch them burn off all their extra energy after a long day of work for about 3 hours. The toys they can win are pretty pathetic...for how many tickets they have to win- but then again, the games give a ton of tickets for very little effort. Also, my kiddo loves the ticket counter "game"- haha she enjoys feeding the tickets into the machine and watching it chomp it up. If you want to extend occupying the kids another hour for just $1 or 2- take them next door to the dollar store- and tell them they can have ONE item. Looking at my most recent reviews I realize I need to go to a nice restaurant instead of a kids' event or big box store. But anyway, my granddaughter's (gd)) recent birthday party made me think about comparisons to Chuck E Cheese. First big plus for me is that they stamp adults and their children as they enter with the same ultraviolet "tattoos". When you leave the tattoos have to match. Nice, very nice, since it's easy to lose track of more than one child with everything going on in the arcade. Second, they almost always have coupon packages for pizza and tokens and soft drinks. And if you're not in charge and not driving they have wine and beer. They also have some healthy food options like a small salad bar, small but still salad. At a birthday party my gd attended the host mother muttered a couple of different times "Anything I need they provide. This is wonderful!". Yes, the place is noisy and chaotic and "Chuck E" is creepy, but kids love it. And I like the "Deal or no Deal" game and, please don't tell anyone, but have been known to glare at tweens playing until they slink away to let me play. The more I'm thinking about it the more I'm liking old Chuck-E, especially that ultraviolet tattoo. read more

This place has changed since being a kid from the early 80's but the smell of Chuck-E-Cheese's food brings me back to the days of arcade games and a kid bing a kid as they say...as long as your being a good kid that is. The games have changed, but the interior of the store hasn't changed all that much. The store's icon now has his hat on backwards and talks. I don't remember him talking back in my day...man I really am getting old. While I was standing in the standing in the store reminiscing about some birthday parties I have had and been to in this place, I saw parents who now have their own kids playing here. I saw my little self and teenage self playing here and having fun. Not sure what the pizza or food tastes like now, but I will find out one day soon. I don't really drink soda now, but I remember mixing every soda I liked and came out with a great flavored drink. I remember seeing some other kids do the same thing. Now sure if many kids still do this, but I remember it. Once I try the food I can give this place one more star, but until then, four stars will have to do. I am glad to see Chuck E. Let's just be honest with ourselves for a minute. We can't rate Chuck E Cheese as if we're handing out Michelin Stars. I'm not even rating it based on my usual Yelp Elite tastes. If that were the case, I wouldn't even give it a star. It'd get circles or squares or something. I'm rating it from the perspective of a person who wakes up at 5AM on a Saturday because my 3 year old decided that's a good time to jump up and down on the bed singing showtunes. With that said... It's like The Hunger Games in here. Every parent pays tribute at some point, and my name was called to represent my parenting district about a month ago. My strategy was to get there at 10AM when they first opened. There was only one other parent there, and we had an informal agreement to stay at opposite ends of the "arena." I paid $20 and got 20 tokens, 2 sodas, and a medium piece of toast with cheese and pepperoni on it. My daughter is 3 and either doesn't understand or care about the rules of most of the games. She just wanted the tickets. She's more of an "end justifies the means" kinda gal. The staff was lax enough (or just resigned to their fate) to not say anything when I just stood her up on top of the basketball game and let her drop the balls into the hoop. (She won!) I was surprised to see that they don't have a ball pit. Being trampled half to death was my favorite past time when I was a kid. They have some giant maze contraption hanging from the ceiling. My daughter got scared and thus stuck up there. It's just large enough for a grown man to fit inside and the prize for figuring out how to maneuver my adult body through it was a giant puddle of urine that had to have come from the day before since they just opened. That was fun. My kid liked the toast/pizza. She enjoyed the games since she made her own rules, and by the time the other kids showed up we were at the counter claiming prizes. Parenting Pro Tip #24: There's a dollar store next door. If your kid doesn't win enough tickets to get anything meaningful (With 20 tokens...they won't), just tell them that you're gonna take their tickets and get them a prize from the "warehouse" next door. read more

THE BAD BEGINNING: I had always known it would be a bad day but the start of it was particularly inauspicious. I managed to open one eye. 10.00am. I never get to stay in bed that long, although I had only been in bed 5 hours. I could hear voices downstairs. Children laughing. Apparently there had been a sleepover last night. God I love the Honey. She knows the childrens' friends, she knows the names of their teachers, the subjects they like at school, the foods they like to eat. Even on a good day I am only vaguely aware of some small people living in the house. The honey comes in, with coffee and my magic berocca. My salvation. But there is a price to be paid for salvation: " you know I found you on the bathroom floor in the foetal position at 5.00am?" - please, no yelling " this is not yelling, this is my normal voice. You couldn't stand up and I couldn't lift you so you scooched along the floor cross legged and somehow got into bed" - really ? I don't think I could do that sober. "why do you do this to yourself? why do you go to the crazy whiskey nights? it never ends well" Maybe not, but it was , as they say, hella mad butter. Soccerballgirl intervenes: " Mommy, I don't like it when you're mad at Daddy" A smile cracks through the Honey's face. I'm Ok, in about an hour I can work up to and probably get to give her a kiss and a hug if I don't reek too much of whiskey. "you're still going to Chuck E Cheeses !" " Yes I am" IT GETS WORSE: There really is nowhere in the world worse than Chucky's. Noise. Flashing lights. Screaming children. Bedraggled parents. More pre-school birthday parties than you can shake a stick at. In our party we have 15 kids, 13 moms, 3 dads including the birthday girl's. Why are me and my buddy D the only Dads here? The mommies look at us ambiguously - happy to see at least a couple of Dads here - unhappy that they lost the argument with their other half and that they are here and not he. "Wow, I say to D - look at the kids - this is crazy - they love this" "Yeah" he says - " just like us at the Borgata" So, that comment gives me the strength to endure. This is Soccerballgirl's equivalent of a weekend in Atlantic City and she loves it. I have heard a lot of horror stories about Chuck E Cheese's and have been dreading the day I had to go to this place. Surprisingly it's really not as painful as I thought it would be. I think you have to have the right expectations. If you come during the weekend you might have to wait to play the popular games. And you're going to wait in line to get your tickets counted and wait in line again to redeem them for prizes. There are going to some kids having meltdowns. Just try not to let it bother you and keep the visit short and you'll be ok. I've only been to this location and the one in Gaithersburg. Although this location is smaller but it's well lit and I like the games here better. Kids can also get through most of the games within a reasonable amount of time so we don't have to stay too long and they feel like they've played everything. I'm really glad that they switched from tokens to card. I hated handling those disgusting tokens. If your kid is prone to lose things you can buy a little wrist band that attaches the card. Food offering is typical pizza, wings and sandwiches. I did try the wings at a birthday party and they were decent. The salad bar here looks pathetic. We usually plan to eat somewhere else before or after our visit. We've also been to several parties here. You get a visit from the Chuck E Cheese and a server will set up everything. Only thing is that each party only gets two table so if there are a lot kids then the parents will have to stand. read more

This place is for parents souls to die!!! My 4 out of 5 star rating is for my little girl because personally I wouldn't even give this place one star. It's simple, my little girl like playing games on moms dime (shes only 3) and eating pizza. It's the perfect place for her. I am giving them a 4 out of 5 for her because several times parents were NOT watching their kids and my little girl was bullied, pushed down and yelled at. I talked to the girl behind the counter about unsupervised children and she said "what do you want me to do about it? They paid so why should I do anything about it." I wanted to reach across the table and give her a piece of my mind. I asked if I could talk to a manager and she said "I don't know where they are." This place needs to get new employees. I am giving this place a 4-star rating because my son likes Chuck E. Cheese and it is the rating that he would give. For those who don't know, Chuck E. Cheese is targeted toward kids so there is a good chance that this place will be loud with children and whatever noise that comes out of their many games. With that said, as an adult, I am not a fan of Chuck E. Cheese for the reasons above. I have never voluntarily take my son here (and by here, I mean any Chuck E. Cheese locations that he had been to). He came here either because his day camp took him or because of birthday parties. With birthday parties, I would just dropped him off and pick him up 2 hours later. Specific to this location, we came here for a birthday party. My husband and I were thinking of bailing out for 2 hours as usual. We left for about 45 minutes to go to the Polish grocer nearby, but decided to go back. To my surprise, the party that he went to was the only party going on at the time so the place is a lot quieter than I'm used to. We could actually hold conversations at normal inside voice level. I even tried the pizza and found it quite good. I am sure that it might be busier at other times so I am going to continue to mooch off others so my son gets to enjoy his time at Chuck E. i just got home from Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Rockville Maryland. I really enjoyed my time with my daughter and grandson. I can't say enough about the management and the services provided at this location. A special "shout out" to Stephanie! What a gem..... She was kind, professional, efficient, and a real treat to have as your server. The assistant manager on duty was equally as pleasant. I highly recommend this location for your family entertainment. It's awful. I took a 4 , 5 and 9 year old. It was awful. Several machines didn't work. Very hard or impossible to get help. Last time I was there was 2 years ago when they had the tubes where kids could play. I will never go back. This was the Gaithersburg location . I don't think the will last long read more

***Note*** This location uses cards now, not tokens. Which means if your kid loses their card, you are SOL. Good customer service at this location. For example, when this location used to use tokens and a machine malfunctioned, they would fix it and give you a couple tokens for your trouble. If you come during the day or right after school, your kids will virtually have the place to themselves. Weekends are pretty crowded. Tip - go to the Chuck e Cheese website and print out the coupons before you come. You'll save a few bucks. Also, they have free wifi. read more

The "restaurant" is what you think it is, there's a giant rat running around as the mascot, so don't expect fine cuisine. The staff is usually indifferent, unless you get in the way of one of their precious reserved parties then they can step up to indignant or rude depending on their moods. I would give two and a half but its not an option. All that said, my kids (twin 6 year old girls and twin 2 year old boys) swear this is the greatest place in the area for any reason, so kids like the run of the mill I suppose. read more

Went here June 25th for a small birthday party get together for my son. At first everything was wonderful but as 8:30pm approached I started to redeem my sons tickets in the machine. Unfortunately 1 ticket machine was broken out of the 4 in the restaurant. So it was a bit challenging and time consuming to redeem tickets while the other kids were using the other machines. By the time we were finished putting all the tickets in the machine it was 9 pm the restaurant was closed and we went to the counter to get a prize and I assume it was the manager at the prize counter. Apparently that night he seemed to have an attitude when we gave him our receipts saying "can I just add up the receipts" (rude tone)to my son. I said to my son get whatever you'd like I'll pay for it. Then the manager said I needed to pay exact cash no credit card ok that's fine. As I watched my other kids pick out their prizes the manager just continued to have an attitude. We weren't even taking long at all. By the time we left it was 9:15pm I left in a jacked up mood and now know exactly why my mother HATES Chuck E. Cheese. I'm never coming back here again in my life I'm so grateful we got rid of 95% of the tickets we've saved over the years. As for the rest of the tickets saved in the house they're going straight to the trash can. Bring back the old manager that use to work at this location his customer service was amazing and he always made us feel welcomed. An employee, Jasmin, showed attitude and I overheard her speaking about another coworker in a disgusting matter when my little five year old cousin was right there with me!!!! Truly unprofessional, disrespectful, and just shows she lacks basic character. Must do better. I do not think that is how employees should talk about each other in that way, especially in front of other children. Chuck E.
