Terrible experience. 1) Manager unwilling to negotiate or match nationally advertised prices. 2) Sales staff unknowledgable (I knew more from looking at the Toyota website) 3) Sales staff rude (see below) 4) Classic car dealer underhand tactics (see below) After spending 4 hours negotiating we left because it was clear that while saying they were trying to work with us, they just kept giving us the same numbers hoping to wear us down over time. Two weeks later Steve called us to say the manager was now wiling to give us the numbers we wanted. We went through 2 more hours with them only to discover the manager was STILL offering the same numbers we had rejected in the first place! We needed a car so felt we had no choice but to go with them. We did not sign papers but arranged to come back the next day and pick it up. When looking closer at the paperwork the lease deal was for 36 months rather than the 24 we'd said we wanted from the start. Felt like the double switch. As a last ditch effort we phoned Performance Toyota to see if they could match the price on a 24 month contract. They not only matched, but gave us the lease for $10 cheaper each month! AND they had the interior color we wanted, a color we were told by Steve did not exist. We called Steve to say we appreciated all his work and hoped we could work with him in the future but we'd gone with Toyota Performance this time because they had the car we wanted for the price we wanted. His response... "Man, you guys suck" and hung up on us. My husband called back because he thought we must've heard wrong... but we hadn't, Steve said "Don't ever call me on this number again" and hung up on us again. Appalling! Especially because we had gone into the dealership with friends who HAD leased a car from him. Our friends are looking into getting out of the lease because of the whole thing and feel they can get better service from Performance Toyota. read more

I talked to Earl and he got me hooked up with a great looking truck and a great price. The finance department came to me with some numbers I didn't like, so I told them what I needed. Terrible experience for the second time I decided to give them another chance after my first bad experience. Yeah these people lie and lie!!! I went in with my own financing and told Mr Robinson don't run my credit I have financing I test drive the vehicle I wanted and loved it! We did the app to be sent to my finical institution bc I was already pre approved for an amount the information came back and he asked me if he could send it to Toyota to see if he could get me a better rate! I told him No! I wanted to keep the offer I have and please don't send my information to other banks I didn't want these inquiries. He gave to a salesman and as me and David were discussing something etc Mr Robinson comes over agin and said " I wish she would let me send her stuff over to Toyota to see if we can get better rates! I told him yet again No! I don't want to finance through them I have a plan on what I wanted to do! My mind was made! As I'm waiting for my paperwork we to be signed and car being cleaned. I get and alert that they 700 Chuck Hutton ran my credit anyway along with the finical institution I chose. I asked Mr Robinson who ran my credit for Chuck Hutton he claimed he didn't know but let him find out. He comes back and said the Finance manger did and said they needed it for my file. I told he I didn't not authorize this and it was illegal. He said I understand and said we can give you a letter for disputing we do it all the time. I told him if they need a copy of my credit report they could've gotten it from my Bank!!! He was very nonchalant at that point. So don't go there with your own financing and give them your information they will still sneak and run your credit. I contacted the dealership and wanted to speak with upper management and was told he was off and to wait for him to call me the next day. I never heard from him. More lies huh lol. They are a joke!!! Bought a certified pre-owned, but basically brand new 2021 4Runner Limited Nightshade as it only had 25 miles on it, on Monday 7/26/21. The PCS sensor went off on Thursday, so my fiancé took it to the dealership, they claimed to have fixed it. He drove it back to work and the sensor went off again. He takes it back and they say the sensor is faulty, they have to order a new one and it'll be in today, Friday 7/30/21. Fiancé has been waiting 3.5 hours at the dealership while they replace it, they come tell him that they broke a bracket for the bumper and now have to order a whole new bumper. They offered to put the bumper back on, with broken brackets on my 4Runner for us to drive home until the new bumper comes in. Then offered a Toyota Corolla as a loaner, when I've just purchased for a 2021 4Runner Limited Nightshade, 4 days prior. This place is joke. Zero faith in this "certified pre-owned" vehicle now and the service department at Chuck Hutton. It's a shame Tennessee doesn't have a cool off period, or I would be giving this 4Runner back and taking my money elsewhere. read more

I purchased a 2015 Avalon which was certified and the recommended maint. was to be performed at 5000 mi. intervals for 1 yr. which was covered by Toyota. Arrived at CH and was met by male service advisor. Told him what the car needed was an oil change and nothing else. I told him I wanted synthetic oil and he said "all we use is Mobil 1". He told me it would take :45 min to an hour and he would come to the waiting room when it was finished. After 2:50 waiting I went to see him. I am quoting him exactly what he told me: "your car has been ready for quite awhile and all you wanted was a tire rotation". Then he denied that I told him I only needed an oil change, needless to say I became very upset, and could not believe CH could accept this type of behavior by a customer service employee. read more

Should be zero stars. Paid cash for 67k for my wife's Christmas dream car. A hard to find Toyota 4Runner TRD pro in Lunar Rock. Shane(salesman) assured a "new" condition and clean carfax. I also clicked the online link for carfax. No accidents. They shipped it to my dads to put in garage til Xmas morning. she was excited to say the least. Couple days later I noticed rear passenger door didn't look like factory paint. Called salesman and was assured it had not been wrecked. I took to a local dealer said it appeared it had been a major repair. Went to trade this week for a lime rush TRD pro locally, and Carfax shows a wreck. Current value is $48k. That's a $19k loss in 3 months and 2000 miles. Can't even get a return call from anyone at Hutton except my salesperson. He apologized and said it must have been a delay in carfax. I think it was bait and switch and they wouldn't take back to trade for the other lunar rock the next week. It probably was the one that had not been wrecked. No excuse, this dealer misrepresented the vehicle sold and didn't have the backbone to stand behind it. Buyers should look elsewhere. Total SCAM!! read more

I usually go to this dealership for oil changes for the most part. Now usually I go on a week day so I don't have to wait forever to get serviced. Now the amenities that you have to keep yourself contended are really good but how come you're limited to one bottle of water for complementary is somewhat confusing. Now to my service of my car. Usually it doesn't take a hour to change a oil change but I guess I'm wrong. The customer service is great there but they really need to let the customer know how long exactly it will be for you to know when it might be finished. DON'T BUY A CAR from Chuck Hutton Toyota! We went to look at a used 2015 "CERTIFIED" Sienna on 1/2/2020 (vin #5TDKK3DC7FS589496). It was a rainy day so it was hard to see the dings and scratches in the car and windshield. It also made it hard to inspect everything that I would normally want to check because we were getting soaked. The first thing we noticed that was wrong was a large scratch on the back bumper on the passenger side. We were told it was too big and deep to be fixed without repainting the whole vehicle and that this did not prevent the vehicle from being certified. The next thing we noticed was not right before purchasing it was the passenger window on the driver's side sputtered and didn't roll down completely. 2 hrs later it was fixed. Finally we negotiated and purchased the vehicle. There was another problem they only had 1 key, we were told it had 2 keys; they could not fix this that night. We asked if they could call a dealership closer to us to have the key made, they worked it out with Robinson Toyota in Jackson, TN to do this. (1/3) My wife took the vehicle to Robinson Toyota to make the key and they informed her the key she had been given was not a master key (it was a valet key) and it was going to cost more to make a master key and program it then we had been told. Robinson also informed her a certified vehicle has to have 2 master keys and they didn't know how Chuck Hutton had certified this vehicle. 3 hrs later she drove home with 1 master key. My wife also noticed when she got home that she could not remove the 8th seat in the center row. I watched numerous YouTube videos showing the easy of removing this seat, but it would not release. (1/4) I called Chuck Hutton and told them I wasn't pleased I wasn't given 2 master keys, the center seat was broken and I was questioning what else might be wrong with the vehicle. They told me they would call be back. 2 hours later they finally did and told me "it is really tricky to take the middle seat out" and it is certified so I could bring it back for them to look at or I could take it to any Toyota dealer to have it looked at. So I took it back to Robinson and again they were great to work with as I explained to them the problems; they made a second master key and after 3 hours were able to remove the center 8th seat and its broken latch. I expressed my concerns at this point with the vehicle and how it was supposed to be certified, which they agreed with and again started these would prevent them from certifying this van. They could not start the repair on the center seat because ToyotaCare is not open during the weekend and they would get the parts and approval to repair this on Monday. Once home, I decided to start looking at more of the 160+ item check list that is used to certify a Toyota vehicle. It was no longer raining and I found more dings in the doors of the van, multiple chips in the windshield and significant corrosion under the battery cover. So I decided to call another Toyota dealership out of state to make sure that I wasn't paranoid. After talking with them they told me they would not certify the van or they would have had to repair those items before sending in the paper work to Toyota for approval. (1/6) I decided I was done with dealing with van. I called my bank and put a stop pay on the check. I then called Chuck Hutton, after multiple calls I was able to talk with their customer relations person. I told her everything we had gone through and all of the problems with the van and how they had been dishonest with. I told her I had put a stop pay on the check and I simply wanted to return the van and receive a complete refund to my credit card for the remainder. She called me back, and we took the van back and got the refund. This would have not happened if they didn't know they were in the wrong. This is the check list that was used to certify this van. I would NOT BUY this van or any car from Chuck Hutton. read more

I went to Chuck Hutton Toyota starting back in January 2014 after my late uncle referred this place to me. Chuck Hutton was wonderful and still is today. The folks are friendly and generous. They make car buying simple. I bought a 2014 Toyota Corolla at the time. You can get free popcorn, coffee, and bottled water while you wait. And on some days, ladies can get free manicures while they wait. The place is very clean. And the service is wonderful. They take an hour or less for servicing my car. I never had any problems. Bought my Toyota brand new and the sales experience was great which made me even suggest Chuck Hutton when my father bought a new car this month. Sadly after my very first scheduled free service they caused excessive damage/chipping to all 4 factory wheels with an impact socket...I understand minor rubs can happen when removing the wheels but this is careless work. I even told them I had already rotated the tires and not to touch them, but on my paperwork it showed the technician re torqued the lug nuts anyway without asking. Now I'm worried if the oil change was even done correctly. It's sad when a "technician" doesn't have enough skill to even remove a single wheel without causing paint damage. Chuck hutton toyota sold us a lemon. The car broke down the day we purchased it. Returned it and David Hayes assured us there was nothing wrong maybe bad gas. Kim(asian guy) told me directly the car was serviced before we purchased it. Btw the car has a bad TRANSMISSION. We were paying 298 only made one car note by the time it broke down again. So they offered us a car at 467 a month 18% apr and kim told me i would still owe in the car with the bad transmission. We said no! So then they said they would fix the car and only pay for a portion of the transmission, so sales manager james told me we had to pay 1200 up front! Why should we give them more money when we gave a large down payment 1 month before of almost 3000 grand! Why are they treating us like crap! And the car is a 2014 Nissan altima. I even asked if they fix the car could we pay in installments the 1200 bad attitude sales manger said no. Now we have a 2014 altima that we are still paying 298 a month for that doesn't work. I had been looking for this particular color for a few months so I was super excited to find that they had a much better selection than some of the other dealerships I had visited. Beware: Service Department at Chuck Hutton Toyota is awful. First, a bait & switch. I needed a very expensive part replaced, but instead of using a new part they threw in a junk-yard part without my permission and still charged me an arm and a leg. The service manager told me it's not uncommon for them to install used parts, Seems like fraud to me. Second, even after they installed the new assembly, they forgot to reinstall the emergency brake; my mechanic had to fix their mistake. Third, my car had a rear seat seat-belt recall that Chuck Hutton "fixed." When I got the car home, the rear door wouldn't open. I have been three times for service. First was ok. Second they broke a trailer light hook up cover. I noticed after I got home and replaced myself, $50. Third, simple oil change with an 8:30am appointment, at 9:15am I went to service person and asked about vehicle. They stated not even went into bay for service. Finally was done at 9:40. Aweful!!! If I would have been told that it was that long I would have left. Really, an hour and 10 min. for a oil change. If appointments are worthless then tell your customers. I've debated over 6 months whether to write a review on this dealership or not. I so want to name the salesman and finance manager's name in here but I'll be nice. I give them 2 stars simply because they have a huge selection on the lot. But they will only make a deal on what they want to sell you. I wanted a Tacoma. The salesman told me I did not make enough money to buy one and that my credit was not good enough. He said the $3000 off for the Sale A Thon did not apply to the Tacomas, even though Toyota said it did. Then he said that they could only give me $13K for my trade in on a Tacoma, but they could give me $16K if I bought a Camry. I almost fell for it, so I told him I wanted to drive a V6 Camry, so he brings me a 4 cylinder and said I would only get a bunch of speeding tickets with the V6. I was like, "Whose money are we spending here!" The financing was a joke. So I go to Principle Toyota and told them I wanted a new Tacoma and you know what? They sold me a new Tacoma. They never even mentioned a Camry. Gave me the 3 grand off for the Sale A Thon, gave me over $17K for my trade in, and got me nearly 4% less on financing from the same bank we were trying to get me financed from here. You be the judge for yourself, but I'll never step foot on this lot again. I should have known better. Before this I had brought my Limited RAV4 here for recall work, only to have the service department shove the paperwork at me, showing how much the work cost to do the recall work, plus labor, and seemed mad that I had to pay nothing as it was a recall. Then he kept looking at me as if he wanted a tip! Mean look, like I owed him a tip, not nice look as if saying please. And to boot, they bent my front personalized tag bracket when they washed it after their work. His tip? I spent it on a new tag bracket. read more
