When I first came here a year ago I was pleased. Since then things have gone very downhill. I've had 4 different stylists because they keep quitting. The quality of the cuts kept getting worse and worse. Recently, I was made to wait 15 minutes for my stylist to get to her chair only to later find out that she was vaping. Bear in mind that this same place will call you if you're two minutes late for your appointment. In a recent call, the "Karen" who took my call was rude. I do not know why. That was it for me. When my son and I arrived we were greeted by the friendly front staff women. It was a smooth check in and took us right back after a few moments. The staff was extremely professional, polite and courteous. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, mainly because it is so close to my home. But, I am going to have to find a different shop. I have the worst time getting consistently good haircuts here, even from the same stylist. One time great, the next time horrible. I've been wearing a cap since my last haircut two weeks because I am so ashamed of the cut. Stylists seem to come and go, which really doesn't matter since I can't seem to get a consistent cut anyway. Too bad. read more

After I received a bunch of recommendations from multiple people, I set up an appointment for my two boys. The woman on the phone was extremely helpful and friendly when booking. The gentleman at the counter greeted us with a smile and was very welcoming. My 1 1/2 year old son saw Nikki and she was phenomenal with him. Victoria was my four year old's stylist. I absolutely love this place. There are very few barbershops in Summerville and even fewer that know anything about facial hair. Bringing me to why I cherish Lowcountry Clippers. First off the location is superb. Its located directly on my route home from work making a quick cleanup in between cuts easier than ever. But also located next to some pretty good grub options. If you aren't hungry but craving something with a little more hops, just walk in the barbershop. They have a decent selection of local brew to choose from. The specials on these select beers make it that much sweeter. Two holy city brews for six bucks makes waiting for a haircut something to be enjoyed. I have hopped around town looking for a barber that was skilled and affordable at maintaining these lushes bristles and I have found that here in the amazing stylist Arielle. She took my beard that was about a six and cranked it up to eleven. I will never go anywhere else. Great conversationalist and and artist with some clippers. Sadly over the last year or so they've gone tremendously down hill in quality and most of the stylists are gone/left, the last 3 hair cuts I've gotten were sportclips level at a higher price and were not what I asked for, and I only get a simple low skin fade. On a couple of occasions I've booked one stylist and when I arrived they gave me to another one without asking or even mentioning it just hoping I wouldn't notice. We used to love Lowcountry Clippers! Our stylist who we saw off and on for the past year and a half moved and I'm guessing we got her replacement. I scheduled an appointment because my child had snipped a very small piece of his hair on the top layer, not bad enough to "need" a haircut but he was due for one so I figured why not make an appointment. We showed up early for our appointment and due to our stylists client no showing she went ahead and took us. I provided a picture example of what I wanted to have done and everything seemed to be going smoothly. It wasn't until after we left and washed the gel out of his comb over styled hair that we noticed a rather large chunk cut directly out of the front. I'm astonished as to how a licensed cosmetologist could botch a haircut quite this bad but here we are. I'm highly disappointed and won't recommend this barbershop again. read more

Quant little "barbershop" (even though it's all females). I'm so glad we have something this nice on this side of town. I take all 3 of my sons here (3, 5, and 7) and we love it. My husband comes too. This is NOT a chain, which makes me love it harder. It's always clean and the staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I'm actually here now with my littlest and we are the only ones here...the stylist turned on cartoons for him and he's so relaxed. This is no 2 second, in and out chop shop. They take their time here, ensuring a good cut. We've worked with a few different stylists so far, and we have zero complaints. This is a "barber shop" (all female) just for guys. The decor is great, as a musky scent, and leather chair at each station. 2 HD TVs and a couple shampoo/shaving stations as well. Currently running a special of haircuts for $15 but prices eventually will go up to $18 (minimum). Kinda pricey for what you get but the haircut was decent.
