Bought a pair of work boots and they were the worst I have seen in my 32 years in construction. Asked if I could exchange them since they were only 20 days old and I was asked if I had ever worn them outside. Since these are work boots and not house slippers I said yes. The manager said there's nothing he could do since I had worn my work boots outside. This is the St Peter's location. Just wanted to let everyone know about this policy. You have never seen more boots than they have at Chuck's! We came to get Hubby a new pair of work boots and the selection was vast. I love that they separate the work boots by steel toe and non steel toe. There were quite a few employees floating around the store helping customers. They were all friendly and educational about the brands and styles. At the counter the employee told us a bit about the accessories (like waterproofing and extra laces) without being pushy or salesy. read more

I called for a specific need. Talked to Richard on the phone and he helped me. I stopped by later that day and asked for him. They called him up to the counter and we picked up where the phone called left off. He took me where I needed to go and showed me several alternatives until I found the boots that I needed. First off, none of the staff were wearing masks. Should have been my first clue that they don't care about their customers, but I digress. Purchased a pair of really expensive Keen boots that were supposed to be waterproof. They're not. Went back in to let them know my issue. Wasn't really expecting a full refund or anything, maybe an offer of exchange or credit towards another pair of boots? Instead I got brushed off and told that they don't issue refunds. Huh? But I didn't even ask that. There were 4 workers at the counter and not one offered to help me with any possible resolution to my problem. I basically got ignored. I took my business to Redwings and spent $400 that I was planning on spending at Chucks. Shame on them for such poor customer service. read more

No Customer Service! I've bought 4 pairs of work shoes at Chuck's over the years. Previously, had been very impressed by the service enough to not mind the Very steep prices. It's been about 2 years since I've needed a pair, a Lot has changed. Used to be, you were greeted at the door and asked if you needed help. This time when I went in, the employees completely ignored me and continued gossiping. I stood there for a good 30 to 40 seconds looking around the store & at the employees. Still ignored. Finally found the type of shoes I was looking for, but not in my size. Tried to get an employees attention, but they didn't even look at me. I bought a pair of $100 worn boots here and they made me limp for days. They refused to exchange them since they had a tiny amount of dirt on them. Wore them outside one day then limped for days. I asked them if this 100$ was worth losing thousands of dollars of business, they said yes. read more

Where I do I begin?? My wife and I came in on a Friday afternoon to look for boots. While browsing, a middle age man, mixed race and I only say that because I unfortunately did not catch his name, shame on me, came over and offered his assistance. I told him I wanted a pair of boots that I could wear any day that did not make me look like a Hollywood cowboy. He asked me about my shoe size and we were off. He KNOWS his boots. Fit, form and on and on. He pointed out several ones that I liked and had me try them on. Some I could not get my foot in. He explained that like shoe manufacturers, boots are cut different ways. I found a pair of Tony Lamas I liked, could easily get the right one on but not the left. He explained that was because it had already been stretched a bit by people trying them on. He stretched the left one for me for a perfect fit! My wife needed assistance and this gentleman brought over this lively dark haired woman that knew her stuff with woman's boots. I have NEVER had service like this at any store for anything. The store has a wide selection of boots, hats, belts and on and on. Thank you Chuck's boots. I will return! read more

Lots to pick from but not a lot in my size. I came in for motorcycle boots, but ended up buying cowboy boots. I really liked the pair I picked out, but I was slightly disappointed I couldn't get what I came for. The employees were willing to help and asked me more than once if I was finding everything ok. Great customer service; I went to Chucks today to look for some casual boots, not really having anything in mind, but I got good customer service from a employee name Joel who really came over to me and ask me if I needed any help when he seen me, and I told him what I was looking for and suggested a pair of Ariat boots that was very comfortable from what I had picked out. I've purchased 2 pairs of boots from here totaling 345.00 dollars . The first pair was a pair of Doc Martin industrial boots. They only lasted me 1 month then the stitching at the sole came apart from bending down at work . I had a pair before that lasted me 6 years .They gave me store credit. I went again looking for more info on boots so I got the ones I need for my job. Poor customer service they kept showing me 300 dollar plus boots . I ended up getting a pair of Georgia boots that where a $170 but where on sale for $120 . They seemed well built . But within 2 months the tread on the bottom of the boots where no existent. One day at work I slipped and fell . I went there again they told me they had to send the boots to the manufacturer .The said it'll take 4 to 6 weeks . I had my wife call chucks they called Georgia too see what stage of the return process they where at and I was issued full return but it's only store credit . I would of much rather had cash as I don't want to do business with this company any longer. But that's how they do things they keep the money in the store . After this experience I went to the redwing store they had great customer service there and listen to what u need . I also get free boot cleanings once a month and a full warranty for a year and they also can resole the boots for 75 dollars. read more

I would strongly urge not patronizing this business. They sell inferior products that they as well as their manufacturers do not stand behind. Purchased a pair of CAT work boots for $109.99 ($119.83 with tax) that came with a comfort guarantee. Went to return the next day and I was told if there is any slight sign of wear no item can be returned (even states this on my receipt), however, the tags on the CAT boots show a money back comfort guarantee. Argued for a bit with a really rude lady, name Tina, who processed my return and handed me a receipt and said that CAT would issue me a refund in the mail. Today, 10 days later, I received a call from Chuck's Boots saying that my store credit is there and waiting for me. The store credit is for $109.99, not the amount I paid, which was $119.83, so not only do I never want to do business with this company again, instead of telling CAT to issue me a refund, they have CAT issue me a store credit to them, Chuck's Boots. I called CAT's customer service number and got a very kind and helpful associate who didn't understand what was going on because CAT doesn't process returns except for online ones. So, Steph from CAT called the store for me and spoke to a manager, not the store manager, and he called the associate, Tina, at home, to find out what she did. I held for a few minutes and Steph from CAT told me to go back up to the store and get my money back. The full amount. Apparently, this Tina is just a rag and doesn't know how to do her job properly.
