WTF is this ... who is managing this place. Most of the machines are like this smh
    Janice A.

It's taking a while to fully or completely remodel being more machines in but it's gotten a lot more to play. I love their graphic lights and carpet. Some people were winning but not me I never win that big here. My mother does so I take her here to play her slots. It's a 2 br drive but enjoyable because of the pch route.

Got some free play for signing up

The only thing that is open 24 seven if you're going out late with your friends, they have OK food but they have numerous of games you can play. Be worried that this is a smoke in the casino type of establishment so you will smell smoke everywhere you go.

We enjoyed our stay in this resort. It was our first time so we didn't know what to expect. The service was great. The staff were friendly. The regular room was bigger than usual. The room was clean. The toiletries were good. It had everything we needed to get a restful stay. I would love to revisit when I'm in the area.

My first home actually coming to Chumash to gamble and check it out forreals!! However, it's just decent. The best part is the sports bar and nice steakhouse they have. I feel it's small inside and the process to gamble/ play games is annoying. You have to always enter your card and put the balance every time you go to a new machine. The service is also not good!! It took forever to learn how the shuttles work To go to Solvang. When we did ask no one knew anything!! Security Employees etc. The location is nice and it's only 10-15 minutes from Solvang. It's good to check it out and come. Many in my group won so that's a plus :) Overall 3/5 for me!

Chumash Casino is the closest casino near Santa Barbara County with plenty of slot machines & card tables... Parking can be a hassle especially if there's an event or concert. So plan ahead & check out their social for any upcoming events. Don't forget to sign up for a players card. That way you earn points when you play, stay or dine here. They have a few players card tiers, depending on how much you accumulate. Im surprised that they actually give out some great gifts. That's if you're one of those that get the promotional gifts. Im still trying to figure out if it's how much you drop or how often you visit smh... Because, Im pretty sure I've been donating here & haven't gotten any gifts recently smdh haha. I haven't stayed at the Resort recently, so I can't comment on that. I did have a good stay several years ago & had access to the pool. That was fun! The casino is looking better than it did. They've done some renovations. They just opened up their new High Roller room & it sure looks great... Im loving their newer addition, The Sports Bar on the upper level. They offer different varieties of food. Check it out if you're ever at the Casino... And, if you visit the casino, who knows, you might win, some cha-ching $$.... Or even a brand new car :)

It was our first time visiting here, and it's nice to know we don't have to drive all the way to Vegas to play. The casino is like a maze, and I honestly got lost a couple times. They have a large selection of different games, some of which I've never even seen before. Restrooms are extremely clean and they constantly have somebody cleaning. Casino itself is also pretty clean. Looks like they're going through a remodel right now, so I would love to see it once it's finally complete. I might return if I'm ever in wine country again.

I had never ever been to the Chumash Casino. So when we were driving back from San Luis Obispo to Ventura county, we decided to stop by. I typically don't like casinos because of the smoke. This place did have a non-smoking area which was great. I played a couple games and won $21 - not much but I felt lucky. I will come back to check out what other things they have inside the casino/ resort.

Beautiful weather, arrived from foggy cold Central Valley. friendly valet attendants loaded all our gear. Check in was quick and easy our room was ready early staff was professional Room is spacious and comfortable 12th floor with amazing views refrigerator 2 queens here for 3 days of golf with 16 buddies. Room rated super reasonable. Going to check our casino later

This casino is beautiful and has the perfect number of slot machines and table games. They have a nice selection of restaurants to choose from, too. The only thing I did not like was that the security did not know anything when asked a question. All their shuttle bus took a long time to come pick you up. Other than that is cool place.

Our first time at Chumash resort, this is actually the first hotel/casino that actually smelled really clean walking and out of the hotel. We were able to check in 2 hours early with no extra charge. The staff were extremely friendly and assisted us right away. The only issue I had was the shower knob, it was very hard to turn, felt like it kept getting stuck. But overall great hotel, it is separate from the casino which is a plus!

Stayed here for 2 nights with the wife and honestly don't know why I seen some bad reviews . I was nervous coming because of all the bad reviews I read but we had a good time and we loved the sports bar, it had good food and a lot of choices . My only complaint about the hotel room is that I would suggest getting better pillows , they weren't that comfortable. They also need more food choices . But I would visit again

    Virginia A.

great casino in Santa Ynez! on the smaller side of casinos I've visited but none the less a nice casino. we loved their sports bar area so many screen tv and yummy food. you can find plenty of bars in the casino as you make your way through. what impressed me the most was that they had water accessible to every guest no need to wait for a server just simply walk to a vending location and grab a bottle!! employees were helpful and friendly. it wasn't until the second day that we discovered there have shuttle services to and from the maverick saloon. which was a huge thing for us to continue the fun. would definitely be back again.

It's a super cute Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel in an ideal location -- walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and sights in downtown Solvang, with easy and free self-parking. We were able to use points for a free stay and were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the stay. The pool area was a highlight, especially with kids. The pool was clean and well maintained, with plenty of towels, umbrellas, loungers, and cabanas available even during the peak afternoon sun. The staff came around with cold waters and Otter Pops for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch and made it feel a little more special. Our room was clean and modern with plenty of space for our family of four, plus a large patio facing the pool that we really enjoyed. There was some visible water damage in the bathroom, and you can tell that underneath the renovations the property has the bones of an older motel-style building. That said, it's been updated really well and is probably about as nice as you could imagine a hotel of this style being in Solvang. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Another small detail we loved was the privacy doorbell system on each room rather than having housekeeping knock loudly on the door -- especially nice when traveling with kids. There's also a restaurant connected to the hotel that offers room service and can deliver food right to the pool, which is incredibly convenient when everyone is having too much fun swimming to get dressed and go out. Overall, Hotel Corque hits a really nice balance: cute and upscale without being stuffy, extremely convenient, family-friendly, and right in the heart of Solvang. We'd definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately, the experience with management completely undermined that. My husband and I originally booked a Valentine's Day weekend at FriendsInn but had to cancel last minute due to COVID. We were told we'd receive a credit and were helped over the phone the next day to rebook for April. During that call, we agreed to a small price increase (under $100) to stay at the inn, and I have a voicemail confirming that conversation. Two days before our trip, I called to confirm - only to be told they'd need to call me back. That's when we learned we were not booked at the inn at all, but instead in an ADA unit at the Bungalow, at an additional $400 cost. This was the first time we were told about either the location change or the significant price increase. We were also never informed that the inn was under construction. When I spoke with the manager, he admitted (somewhat reluctantly) that our reservation had only been entered into the system three days prior. However, because we didn't have an email confirmation, he refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for the fact that they failed to properly book what was agreed to over the phone. Instead, we were offered a 10% discount, which did little to offset a 150% price increase - and were told we had effectively been "upgraded" to a more expensive room, without our consent or prior notice. The entire situation felt dismissive and evasive. Rather than owning a clear mistake, management deflected responsibility and left us paying for it. It's disappointing, because the property itself is lovely - but based on this experience, we won't be returning.

The real show stoppers are the public spaces, inside and out. The more you look, the more you see....it's a real gem. Fun facts: The back of the property fronts on a residential street. There, the hotel looks like a single-family ranch home. Super cool. And the property is flanked on either side by two very small and tidy churches. In other words, the Hotel Ynez is a random mix of ingredients that come together to create something unique and special. All in all, the bang for the buck is quite good and I would definitely stay here again. For me, the following are NOT deal breakers, but good to know ahead of time: The staff is hands-off but always available. Personally, I prefer it this way. But this is not high-touch hospitality. This place is very close to lots of great restaurants and attractions that are NOT walkable. This is a true roadside motel (albeit a very high-end-one). We were here midweek and it was super quiet and peaceful. But I can easily see this place being overrun by a block of wedding guests or worse yet, a bachelorette group, and becoming an entirely different scene. We slept great, but you will hear cars whizzing by on the road. I consider this a normal part of the motel experience, but for people who don't want it, it's there. It's not loud to me, but it does create constant white noise. It's almost like staying at the ocean. Getting a room further away from the street helps. Perhaps this is related to above. Music is played over an outdoor sound system. The music was fine, and it's not loud, but it was definitely there. Pet peeve: I don't need to hear anyone's canned setlist before noon. My life does not need your soundtrack. And I'd turn down the volume a notch or two. There are no freebies here except complementary (bad) brewed coffee and tea in the morning. No free bottled water or welcome snacks. It's not a big deal, but I don't think two free half liters of Arrowhead is too much to expect. The (complementary!) toiletries are green but not at all luxurious. Kinda meh.

Me, my partner, and our pup Enzo had the best time at Hotel Ynez. We booked it to celebrate our…read moreanniversary and left feeling so relaxed and happy. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which was a corner room with its own private outdoor space -- a soaking tub, dining patio, and fire pit. Unfortunately, the fire pit didn't work during our stay, but there are plenty of communal fire pits sprinkled throughout the beautiful central courtyard, so it wasn't a big loss. This renovated motel‑style hotel is a hidden gem, and I'm so grateful we found it. They are extremely dog‑friendly. There's a lovely grassy field with doggy bags and a trash can right outside the room, plus tons of seating areas, bocce ball, a pool with great lounge chairs, and a little shop with cute items like books, wine, home goods, and more. The lobby opens into a charming living‑room‑style space and a cozy coffee/tea room that feels like being in someone's beautifully curated home. You can really see the attention to detail -- the art, the books, the sculptures, everything feels intentional. One thing I have to highlight is the incredible oak tree that creates the most magical shade canopy during the day and a dreamy "roof" under the night sky. It's stunning and made me so happy every time I walked by. The grounds are peaceful and perfect for relaxing. I appreciated that the pool area is 18+ -- such a nice touch for a couples' getaway. It would be lovely to have a bar or restaurant on‑site, especially for the pool area, but it wasn't a problem. We grabbed what we needed from the market next door. They made our anniversary feel special, and the room itself was quiet with a very comfortable bed. The local small‑business toiletries (lotion, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner) added a luxurious touch. The AC worked well but was extremely loud when it kicked on, so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper -- we didn't need it much thanks to the perfect weather. I also loved the great music playing throughout the property and the sweet front porches with hammocks. The perfect getaway for couples -- we'd absolutely return.
