Hotel was amazing. And the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind. I love that. The lounge area has lots of fire warmers as well as a beautiful water fountain. And you can dine out there. They also have games like a large connect four and corn hole. Also a gym. If you have a kid, it's nice cause it's right across the way from a children's museum and crafts. All the restaurants are walking distance. It's about a mile away from the mission if you were looking to visit.

In short, cozy hotel with Hilton benefits at the end of the main road, walking distance to everything. We came to Solvang the first weekend of December to enjoy all of the Christmas festivities. We wanted to stay somewhere central that was walking distance to everything in the town. To this end, the Hadsten Solvang worked out great. The hotel is on one side of the town, but you can walk directly across to the other side and back with no problem. I had no trouble finding parking here, and check-in was easy. I am a member of the Hilton honors club, so I was able to do everything, from booking the room, checking in and out all through the app. The hotel itself was nice and cozy. The grounds were clean, as was the room that we checked into. My king bedroom was roomie and everything seemed new and up-to-date. The bathroom was nice, the bed was soft, and they included, complementary waters, and wine that you could purchase as well. The place was great, and I had no complaints, and if/when I return to solving, I will definitely consider this place again.

Our room was nice and clean..The shower was amazing. There's a fridge in the room which was convenient. The service was good. The best part is, we went during Christmas and the hotel is walking distance from everything. The light show, shops, the big Christmas tree, and restaurants. There's even a market nearby for snacks and supplies. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar which has better food than Coast Range by the way. The bartender was nice and the service was good. We had a great time.

We stayed here almost a month ago now. The accommodations were nice enough. We did encounter a problem with fleas though. They devoured me, about 30 bites all over my feet and legs. Needless to say they moved us to another room and comped our two night stay. Staff and management were friendly and helpful. I would just plead with people, leave your pets at home! This is a human hotel! Clearly someone broke the rules and I paid the price! All you have done is make me hate pet owners that much more.

This is motel property branded by Hilton. It borders one end of the downtown Solvang and the town is walkable from this location. I arrived and checked and was not acknowledged for being an Honors member. I had booked two rooms and was set-up with neighboring rooms which was nice. The rooms were clean and was decorated nicely. I went to a local place for dinner and was not satisfied with the vegetable selection but was happy that the restaurant on-site had asparagus there. There is no pool or hot-tub but they do have a small gym with limited hours. I was able to work-out before they closed. The gym had a treadmill and an elliptical with a dumbbell rack, one bench and a cable machine. The gym does offer complimentary bottles of water for your workout. I was able to check my luggage after check-out so that I could explore the town. Four stars!

From the beginning of the trip, reception was very friendly. We went to our corner room and opened the door to a spacious room. Two queen beds on the right and tv/minibar on the left. There are plantation shutters with a window that opens fully and an oversized body length mirror. In front of you is a barn style door. That leads you to inside your oversized bathroom. The countertop is on the left and the toilet with shower to your right. What we thought was a bit odd was that the A/C: Heater was inside the bathroom. Granted, it got cold/warm if you left the bathroom door open but, I've never seen one in the bathroom. The bar is really good. Great bartender. There was a food menu as well. There is a beautiful outside area with seating, corn hole game, and a serene water feature. Also, about a one minute walk is a well stocked market. I'd stay here again!!

We recently stayed at the Hadsten for a one night staycation and were disappointed and underwhelmed. It's by far the loudest hotel I've stayed at in town. There is no sound proofing and you're right on the main road so it's very loud, early. Plus lots of sounds from housekeeping which woke us up very early. We had the do not disturb sign on the door and they still knocked at 9:30 AM. Checkout is not until 11 AM. I "picked" my room with online check-in and was put on the complete opposite side of the building and very close to the road. As Hilton Gold members, I was surprised they didn't take our preference into consideration. Marissa at the front desk was very friendly when we arrived. She gave us a packet with lots of 2 for 1 tasting room locations, many of which were walking distance. There's a gorgeous bar and patio, plus free parking onsite! It's a very quick walk to all of the restaurants and shops so you don't have to drive once you're there. The rooms are very clean and modern and I liked the layout of the bathroom. Rooms have a mini fridge, but no safe. There is wine for purchase but I recommend getting something in town for a better price. There are also small water bottles - free for Hilton Honors but $2 for nonmembers. No pool or hot tub, although it looks like the patio is where there might have been these amenities before. I love staying at Hiltons but we probably would not stay here again. We've done a few trips to Solvang and this was by far my least favorite hotel. They are also not dog friendly and many other places in town are. We did not get a chance to try the restaurant and bar, so I would definitely come back to try those since it was beautiful. I'm also a sucker for happy hour.

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute.
