I walked in with my 2 sons for a cut. We waited probably less than 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. They probably had 6 barbers and were fast and good. I showed them pictures of what I wanted for my sons and they were able to replicate it well. It's great to find a barber that's affordable, fast, and good,kind of rare these days. The boys were $16 each at the time. If you pay with cash you can avoid the credit card surcharge. All the barbers there were Asian and communicate well enough. If you're worried about miscommunication, I would just bring multiple pictures to demonstrate your style. read more

Do not recommend for ladies hair styles Chung's Barber Shop has a salon for women's hairstyle in the attached building, called C's salon or Chung's hair salon. Couldn't find the other store on yelp, but was highly recommended here by a friend. TLDR: Do NOT recommend. I was clear in what I wanted and had a photo reference. Not only did I not look anything like what I asked for, but also the result was choppy, unbalanced, and miraculously worse than if a toddler went at my hair with safety scissors. I look like a bargain sale version of a 1970s Rolling Stone Front Page model! I asked for a tiny trim in the back, "No adjustment to length please!". The hair cutter lobbed off 6+ inches with the swift flick movement of a conductor directly the orchestra (except he's not directing any lovely music, he's channeling my inner screams). My hair originally did not have layers, asked for a bit of layers (not reaching up to more than a few inches to make it slightly lighter); but now it has more layers than an onion. He went through the motions of quote-separating the hair-unquote, only to give up at the end and lob off chunks of my hair unevenly straight through. I asked for straight bangs. The hair cutter delivered uneven choppy bangs that bounces up in the middle, barely covering my forehead. These are not bangs. This is a nightmare. The hair framing the sides of my face are not the same length and patchy; with random gaps between long strands. Like weird barbie from the movie barbie! You get the idea. You know your hair cutter messed up when he keeps checking your expressing through the mirror. This is not my first time here; different stylist/hair cutter, same different disappointment. My friend recommended this placed so I wanted to give it another try with a different hair cutter after the first time. Benefit of Doubt! Now I get to show off my lovely hat collection everyday. Please, for the love of god, stick to being a barber shop. read more

I was in the area and have been needing a haircut for a while so I stopped in. There was a little bit of a language barrier between my barber and I, but I always come prepared with some photos. Bald fade, short scissors on top. He started with the sides, and then took me over for a complimentary shampoo, definitely a nice touch. When we sat back down, he clarified how to cut the top (my hair is thinning at the crown) and where my part lays. He did a great job blending the top into the sides. I went in the other night, and it was almost closing time, and they took care of me right away. Their professionalism is like no other they took care of me as if I was a regular loyal customer they made me feel welcomed they listen to what I said I only got a shape up but it was one of the best best I've ever had Pobo is amazing. He listen to what I had to say and made it even better. they went above and beyond expectation but truly their skills in cutting hair and customer service speaks for it self. will definitky be coming back read more

Recommended! My first time here and got a very nice haircut here! This is a new location of Chung's for the Richmond area. It is located on Parham Road near the Staples Mill Road & Parham Road intersection. Their first location is in Charlottesville and has been successful there for 10 years before opening this new location in Richmond. They do men's and women's hair. They are operating as Chung's for men's hair and as C Salon for women's hair at this location in Richmond. read more

I rarely write reviews but when you find a gem like this, during a time like this, you want to tell everyone about it. First time here (they've only been open for 3 months) and the haircut and beard trim were fantastic. Such care, precision and meticulous detail were taken. Not many words were exchanged (language barrier), but that didn't matter because the barber (chair all the way to the right) understood exactly what I wanted. read more

I had to spend the day in Richmond while my dog was getting a dental at Helping Hands vet clinic. So I had some time to burn. I recently retired from the airlines and was letting my hair and beard grow ( for the first time in decades) and was looking pretty scraggly. My personal efforts to trim my beard were pretty bad. I did an Apple Maps search for a barber in the area and decided on Chung's. I believe the barbers name was Easton. He worked on me for quite some time. Acute attention to detail. I walked in looking a bit like some unhinged wild haired/bearded crazy guy and left like I was walking off of the cover of a GQ magazine. My wife was floored when I got home. Best haircut and first beard trim ever. My only regret is I live over an hour away. Recommended with enthusiasm. read more

I give good rating for this barber mostly because of the barber's manner. It is very polite and gentle. Good haircut as well. Recommended
