This is the worst Post Office I have ever encountered and I have tried repeatedly to work through their delivery issues which at this writing are averaging once a week. I would give 0 start to this post office, if possible. I work at a business and I've created 3 cases in the past 2 months against this post office. We go days, in this case more than a week, with no service. We have had outgoing mail since last Thursday, and have not had a visit since at least that long. The first solution to the first case was that our regular mail carrier had been out, but was returning shortly, so our issue should be resolved. That has not been the case. I have not had a response from the last 2 cases. In addition, phone calls to this location go unanswered. read more

1) they refuse to answer the phone. 2) they put my package in the wrong mailbox and won't fix.

I have switched to using the drop box at this location due to shipping more and reduced hours at this location. The biggest issue is even if you drop off a package at 7:30am on a weekday they may not do an acceptance scan and actually have it enter the postal system for another day. It is very sad they won't do acceptance scans here- especially on priority and insured mail. There is also almost every morning people experiencing homelessness sleeping in the lobby who beg for money. read more

Big post office - always a line, and seems like a union rule that only two counters are open even if there are a bunch of folks in line. Crazy busy today and when a third agent walked up to open a register "crazy-hair-slow talker" agent announced to all she was going to break and would see us all later. Really?? Church Street Post Office = Convenience! Who woulda thunk? Right near the HG for all things PRIDE related is a spacious and convenient branch of the U.S. Post Offices. From the much appreciated (and did I mention convenient?) adjoining parking and later hours to the efficient and friendly staff, this place makes the process of "snail mail" and shipping a breeze. I am especially thankful for the drive-up mailboxes and Fed-Ex pickup up front that have regular pickups throughout the day. read more

I've had great and average experiences at this location. This review is for my experience today. I have been to my share of post offices all over the country. As a whole, most of the employees seem to have no sense of urgency. I went in to the Church street location to renew my passport today. Donna, saw that I had a passport in my hand and quickly directed me to the appropriate forms to fill out for renewal. I watched as she helped other customers, friendly and very efficient. I have never seen a post office employee move through a line so quickly! Needless to say, Donna needs a raise. She is hands down leaps and bounds above any employee I've ever interacted with in any post office, EVER! Thank you Donna for making the passport renewal extremely less painful than I could have ever anticipated! read more

Minimum wait. Very helpful staff. I had stopped at another post office and asked about delivery of a letter to Vanderbilt as quickly as possible. The other post office said to go to the church Street Station Post Office because Vanderbilt directly picked up their mail there. The first post office weighed my letter and put a $0.70 stamp on it. When I got to the Church Street Station, the postal worker weighed my letter and it was $0.21 more but she said don't worry about it and processed it with the postage from the other location. And she promised me that it would be hand delivered to the location where Vanderbilt picks up their own mail. It was a pleasant surprise to get such helpful service from the post office. read more

When I am in a hurry in the early AM on my way to work and fighting horrible commuter traffic...this is the most convenient post office I can find. It is a little off my normal route but it is the ONLY one that actually has a working self service package shipping and postage machine. Awful post office. Carriers are lazy and will do anything they can to get out of delivering your mail and packages. Here's the complaint I just made on USPS website (which probably won't ever be addressed). To whom it may concern, Our mailbox is affixed to the wall next to our front door. Carriers must exit their vehicle to deliver mail to this box. We've been at this address for almost 3 years and for over 2 years, this has not been an issue but now we have a new mail carrier and I don't think he likes getting out of the truck. One day our small dog barked at him (ONLY barked) and we were left a hand written note by the carrier that we would have to move our mailbox. I don't believe he has that authority but okay. A couple of days later we received a letter from our PO branch manager stating that the dog would need to be confined when the carrier came to deliver mail or they would not be able to continue. Okay. That is a completely reasonable request and a fair way to handle it and we have made every effort to make sure that our dog is confined in the house during delivery. I make sure he is NEVER outside during the time of normal delivery and I even watch him the entire time he's outside at any other time of day as well just to ensure we don't have a problem. HOWEVER, despite the branch manager stating delivery would continue, this weekday mail carrier still has NOT ever delivered any mail to us ever again and furthermore they lie about our animal's presence to avoid having to do their job. They don't even attempt to deliver our mail and I see them just drive right past our house and on to the neighbor's homes instead. It's actually rather insulting because I am paying my taxes for this service but I digress. This most recent incident (tracking # attached) is very aggravating. The tracking information indicates that there was a "Delivery Exception, Animal Interference" at 8:43 AM this morning. This is an outright lie as my animal was in the home, next to my feet in my office at that time. Additionally I have a door camera and there was no delivery attempt made this morning. They never came at all. So we have several issues here. 1.) we're not getting our mail on weekdays AT ALL 2.) The lies are compounding the issue making it look like we are not confining the dog as instructed when we in fact are. 3.) They are letting the mail pile up and leaving it for the Saturday carrier to deal with so they are inconveniencing us AND adding burden to their coworker. This needs to be resolved but the branch NEVER answers the phone to allow me to speak to the manager and when I go in person, the manager is miraculously not there. Completely absurd. read more

It's a post office, what more can I say. The staff is always friendly to me. The store is always clean and the location is great. There has been a couple of times that I had to wait in line more than 10 min. but that was because it was packed that day, not their fault at all. Beware however, there had been 3-4 homeless people begging for "Gas Money" then when I ask where there car is, they tell me "it is 10 miles away." If it was not for this I would give 5 stars. The manager needs to run these people off. It is bad for business! read more

Until now, I've been doing all of my post office-related business at the one on Acklen. I went there because it was .2 miles closer than the one on Church. Since I'm routinely walking up to 4 miles on any given day, I decided to try out the other one. Glad I did. They are open half an hour later, it's bigger, it's cleaner, and it's still within walking distance. And for the normal people who have cars, the parking lot here has more spaces than the postage stamp-sized lot on Acklen. While there are no pictures of country stars lining the walls, I don't feel as claustrophobic here as I did at Acklen. I also like that they are closer to more food options. read more

Location is fantastic, and they actually have quite a bit of parking. The line was very long when I came here. I waited over 20 minutes to get to the only woman who was serving customers and she told me they couldn't accept credit cards because they're system was temporarily down. Why wasn't there a sign on the door stating this so I didn't have to waste my time??? She told me I could use the self service machine which I tried, and of course, it wasn't accepting cards either. Church St. has a large, clean post office conveniently located just off Broadway, near Vanderbilt and Hillsboro. Their selection of packaging materials is wider than the smaller post offices, and includes some decorative gift wrapping options. The staff is friendly and efficient, and there's a big good-sized parking lot right next to it. The last daily collection is 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and 3 pm on Saturday. There's also a Fedex mailbox out front for self-service mailing 24/7. They're closed all day Saturday and Sunday. read more

Everyone here is always so friendly and nice!!! But they move slower than snails here. It's absolutely awful. You'll stand in line for 10+ minutes just to do the simplest of things. Even with three people working!! It makes NO sense why it takes so long here. && they never have pens out for you to write with!!! So you have to wait until you get to the register to fill anything out which doesn't help everyone else's wait time. I was a bit confused on how to rate this Post office so I will base it on todays visit... The ladies that work here have always been FANTASTIC and friendly, they have always made me feel positive about this location. Today I had clerk #5, I am not sure if that helps at all, he made me so upset that I forgot his name. He was so rude to me. He complained the whole time, didn't want to accept my packages and did not even tell me what I could to to make his job easier. The ladies I deal with on a daily basis never told me that I was doing wrong, I had even asked if there are things i could do differently and they all have told me no....they are doing their job and happy to do so. To mail out tiny pieces I use small envelops, the same ones that you mail a letter in, their lables are very large now so on some envelopes they have to fold it over a bit, nobody else has complained but I stood there and did that part of the job for him, happy to do so. I had no problem in doing that, then he went on to say he does not have to accept my mail and that I am lucky he is accepting it and then that I need to go buy some envelopes. Fine I am ok to pay more for packaging but I do not expect him to be rude about it. I asked him if there were rules about envelopes other than the obvious and he told me yes but then refused to tell me the rules. Then he put 3 envelopes on the scale to get the weight for 1 envelope.....did he think I didn;t see that????? I had one envelope that he could not see in the system, he said hat the address didn't exist. this is the 3rd time I sent mail to this address from that post office. I feel like this man did not want to wait on me because I had several packages to mail out. I am a paying customer like the rest. He is not doing me any favor.....Paying customers kepp jobs availabe. This is a terrible post office. I had a shipment delivered here on June 23. They put a notice in my private mailbox that it was there. When I went to the counter they couldn't find the packages that someone there signed for according to FED X. I had to go online to file a compliant to even get them to look for the package and about two weeks later they found it. Noone said sorry we messed up, . This is the third time that the employees of this post office mishandled my packages, once I had a package delivered there that had dry ice in it, they called me and told me the package was there, when I arrived there about two hours later the clerk again couldn't find the package. By the time they located it the dry ice had melted and the food spoiled. That time I was able to get a refund from the original shipper even though it wasn't their fault, it was the post office employees fault. This time it cost me thirty dollars which I cant recover. They don't care about the customer or about providing good service at this location 1718 Church Street, Nashville TN. Maybe the news media needs to do a story about the service at this location, if they have done this to me then there must be others with similar experiences. This is why we don't need the United States Postal Service any longer, there are other companies out there who can and do a better job. To the politicians, please stop funding the usps. Called on the phone about my package and staff was very rude. All I want to know is where my package is? I live in an apartment and my mail box is in a common area which my package is way to big to even fit the box. So I leave a note on my door to leave the package and the lady says because the note is not on the mail box then the mailman wouldnt know to leave it at my door. Wait a minute the box doesn't even fit in the box so how does he know whether I'm home or not? wouldn't he Walk to my door and knock like every other mail man does? I was there early February 2017 with my husband and two children on a Saturday they were having a special passport fair. We were renewing all four passports for a trip coming up on March 11th 2017. We told which seemed to be the main person running the place there that we wanted to expedite all four, but she went on and on how it would be a waste of money that we would have them in a couple of weeks and she insisted. So we did not expedite, now we are leaving the country in 9 days on an extremely nonrefundable vacation. My children have received theirs a week ago but myself and my husband still don't have ours. I called and tracked the US passport processing and called numerous times to see if I can expedite. All I get is "sorry you should of expedited from the beginning there is nothing we can do". I tried to call the church street post office and apparently no one works there because no one will pick up the phone. This has left my husband and myself completely stressed out! read more
